I loved this place. It was built in 1847 and looks so quaint and peaceful. It's hidden and overlooks the canal. The most delicious lamb I have ever had so juicy and such a nice waitress. She was the sweetest. Highly recommend for a date night, dinner, and lunch. So romantic.

One of the best places for delicious food. I’ve tried almost all the dishes, and not a single one has disappointed me. The lamb, honestly, is the standout, it’s the best!

Extremely long waiting times. I usually do not take into account comments related to long waiting times, as this really depends on the evening / number of guests / etc. However, even with a half-empty restaurant, we had to wait 1 hour and 30 mins circa for four main courses (2 type of dishes in total). The owner / manager offered us some drinks, apologizing for the delay - however at the end we didn't receive anything. The food was good, but not something I would return for. The venue is small and cozy, with tables on two floors. As we were in the upper one, and all the tables nearby were empty, we basically didn't see a waiter for ages. Well, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant until the service quality gets improved.

This is by far the best food I have eaten in Utrecht in a long time. Everything was fresh, prepared with care, served warm and beautifully presented. The wines were excellent as well. I am not of the opinion the service is slow. My impression was the lady was very attentive and hesitant to bother my friend and I since we were conversing. Everything extra we asked for we got in less than 5 minutes. We spent 3,5 hours and for €80 per person this was a good deal. This is truly the only restaurant in Utrecht where you can get authentic French food. I see that the only people who are complaining about the service are foreigners. Please be aware that by Dutch standards, the service here is remarkable although it might not compare favorably to what you get in the States it on the South-East Europe. At the end I feel it is necessary to add that this restaurant has hands down the best view in the entire city. The cleanliness is also something to note since most Dutch restaurants are filthy by default. This one was spotless and that includes toilets as well. We will be returning here for sure!

We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the picture window, watching the world go by on the canal, while sipping champagne and tasting cheese. What's not to like?

Limited menu that would be amazing if the food was perfect. Unfortunately they are understaffed and prepare food probably somewhere else as one person in the kitchen can not handle everything both serving and cooking. It’s overpriced for the quality and service they offer. We waited for more than an hour between courses. Again, probably not a problem if you don’t have hungry kids with you and asked to keep them quiet for other guests. Just not what they would like to be! Unfortunately!

We were the only occupied table upstairs. First, a child kept coming down the stairs into the restaurant from the apartment above. Then the waitress seemed very put out when we only wanted a main course each. The waiter delivered an expensive bottle of wine and just plonked it on the table without pouring us any or offering a taster. We never received the water, nor the second bottle of wine we ordered so we wound up eating our food without a drink. We felt ignored and upset as we’d been excited to celebrate my friend’s birthday here. When we paid, the waitress didn’t even apologise for ignoring us or for not delivering our drinks. One lamb shank with literally three carrots cost €22.50. That’s not cheap. A few smiles and some attentive service is all we ask.

If I am not mistaken, this is the new location of former "Restaurants des Arts" (Boterstraat). It is the location and the beautiful dining room overlooking the gracht that first caught my eye. It looked so nice inside that I tried it first chance I got. It was PERFECT! My family and I spent a lovely evening, in a great place, with the best food I had in a long time. Everyone loved their food. As for me, I went for the beef filet, which in my opinion, is a classic and that can either great or disappointing. Well, it was great!! We also trusted the 'wine of the month' selection and were not disappointed. Crème brûlée as a dessert, another classic, also absolutely on point. Cold under, warm above, crispy crust, exactly as it should be and with an amazing vanilla flavor. On top of the great food and great location, the staff was delightful. Smiling, available and helpful. Un sans faute!
