Lovely lunch sitting outside the market watching the world go by. Extremely reasonable in price. You can get 6 oysters and a wine for €11. The oysters were devine, fresh & plump. The fish soup was super tasty. The prawns have previously been frozen but they were still good. Charcuterie board was also really good. House wine perfectly quaffable. All in all very good and an authentic experience, majority of people there were French so always a good sign.

Another of my 'people watching' go to's... After walking through the meat, fish, bread, fresh fruit and bread, and all the other wonderful stalls, quite an appetite can be built up... This is the place to slake it! Fresh seafood platter, great wine.... nothing to moan about... just get there early if you want a table without waiting!!

I am in love with this place. Amazing food, great service, friendly and funny staff. I wish, I could eat there every day, drink amazing wine and see people passing buy. We had austers and sea food plate for two people bottle of wine and payed around 70 Euros. Worth every Cent!

Definitely not a fancy place but that's what we liked about it. Felt very much like a locals place with fast, inexpensive simply good and fresh oysters. I mean 6 oysters and a small glass of wine for 10€ what more could you want?

“Delicious and fresh seafood served without any unnecessary fuss – everything is simple and feels like home. The price is 19 euros for the seafood and 7 euros for two glasses of wine. A perfect spot to enjoy great food and a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere.”

IG: @melvineatet $(15-20 eur per pax) Amazing freshness and taste from the oysters and shrimps. Oysters were briney and tasted like the ocean while prawns were so sweet. Fish soup was a little too salty and strong for us. Overall very good value for fresh and good seafood

Awesome and wholesome experience at the Bordeaux market. Outdoor seating with much good energy and my shrimps with a glass of local wine were perfect for a total cost of 12 euros 🤩

Yelp
Stopped by having just arrived in Bordeaux by train. The market where Chez Jean-Mi is located was a brisk 15-20 minute walk from the train station, on route to my Airbnb. I was immediately seated at 11:30 on a Saturday with a full view of the outdoor market. I ordered half a dozen oysters and a glass of wine for a cool 11 Euros. The oysters were superb. So was the people watching. The entire transaction was efficient and delightful. I was quickly back on my way to my accommodations, with high spirits and a quelled appetite. 5/5, can recommend -- with gusto.

Yelp
So you're telling me I can get six huge oysters, bread, and house wine, all for UNDER 9 euros?!?! Chez Jean-Mi, please relocate to somewhere within driving distance to me. I love everything about his place, great bread and butter, fresh oysters, and awesome house wine. And it's located in a local market. Do yourself a favor and check this place out

Yelp
I went here twice, two days in a row. I got the seafood platter for 1 and it is substantial. 13 euro, 5 shrimp, a healthy handfull of snails, a few oysters, two crab claws, and bread and butter. It is a great deal. The service is SUPER friendly, even to those we do not speak French. They all speak English and there is an English menu. Wine is as inexpensive as 2 euro per glass and there are some wine and oyster combos available. If you are there with someone, just get a bottle! You get a few lemon wipes to clean up afterwards and that is a nice touch. You get all the tools necessary to dismantle the seafood. The oysters are already shucked, but you get a small fork, a pick, a bucket for shells, and a lemon. Like I said, I came here twice and got the same thing two days in a row. The second time I skipped the white wine and just went and got a bottle of wine afterwards. :) This is located in the middle of the market and there are lots of other places to pick up tasty treats nearby.

Yelp
Excellent casual local spot for fresh seafood, with raw oysters and shrimps being the most popular items as far as I could tell. Oysters are good though very briny (be forewarned), and the shrimps were the the unexpected star, sweet and flavorful. You can feel like a local here, especially if you come on a weekend when the surrounding market is bustling with activity.

Yelp
This is by far the freshest and most unique seafood platter my wife and I had. Cannot beat the price for the seafood platter and two glasses of wine. Get here early and enjoy!!! Bon Apetit

Yelp
Get here early....or go on a weekday cause this place gets busy and there's a line around the corner. If you're lucky enough to get a table grab one of those huge seafood platters you'll see on most tables. You won't regret it. Pair it with a bottle of house white wine and you'll be in seafood heaven for the next hour. It is very reasonably priced and I'm pretty sure you won't find less expensive oysters in Bordeaux if you tried. Will definitely come back here again if I'm lucky enough to be in Bordeaux again.

Yelp
If you are in Bordeaux on a Saturday or Sunday morning, this IS THE PLACE to eat, people watch, and drink a bottle or Entre deux Mers! The seafood is the freshest you can get in the city! On a cold day the fish soup will hit the spot, but even if it is cold, bundle up and order the "Barquette" - a literal boatload of oysters, shrimp, bulots (sea snails - eat them, they are weird and wonderful! Just be sure to take off the foot first), and sometimes crab.
