We really enjoyed an impromptu dinner on Sunday evening. We hadn't booked, but were offered 2 tables to choose from, though all seating is pleasant, and was later filled. Food and service were both excellent: from initial greeting to service at table - friendly, genuine. Food was expertly cooked and well presented, including some unusual flavours. Monkfish dish especially delicious, and generous portions. Part of menu unavailable, but still choice, and operating sustainably and minimising food waste sometimes requires compromise. Ambience and view added to pleasure....we thought the live music (keyboard and vocalist) were just perfect. The skies were alive with the local population of Swifts and House Martins, allowed to nest in the cracks of the old town buildings. A delightful evening for us. Thank you to all at Bistro le 5.
