Overall, we had a really good dining experience in Luxembourg. This is a classic European comfort-food restaurant with generous portions and rich flavors. The smoked pork neck with pan-fried potatoes was hearty and savory, and the thick, slightly sweet and peppery sauce paired perfectly with the potatoes (and would be great with bread too). The creamy white-sauce dish was also a pleasant surprise — smooth but not heavy, with chicken and mushrooms, topped with puff pastry for extra texture. The gnocchi with creamy bacon/ham sauce was soft and flavorful, perfect for anyone who enjoys creamy dishes. The side salad was fresh and refreshing, balancing out the heavier mains nicely. We also really enjoyed the Bouneschlupp (green bean soup) — perfectly stewed, warm and comforting, and exactly what we needed on a cold day. Overall, simple and authentic local-style food; it would be even more perfect if the prices were slightly lower.

A small bistro right in fron of the duke's castle. It was recommended to us by our city guide and we were not disappointed. They have traditional dishes as well as wine from luxembourg and local beers. We shared a trafiotional pork neck with baked potatos and beans. It was extremely delicious. The waitress was very friendly and nice. Inside you can see the pictures of the duke and the dutchess as well as other important people. We recommend

This rustic pub sits adjacent to the Grand Ducal Palace and so is the prime spot to take in the sight and I'd highly recommend it; The chicken & mushroom pie - paschtéit, ie. le bouchée à la reine - was absolutely a 10/10, I can't forget it.

We had an excellent lunch there. The food and drinks were delicious and the waitress was friendly and efficient. Probably one of the best services in European restaurants we received to date. The menu had a good selection of Luxembourg meals and local wines and beers. Highly recommend.

I visited the store on Thursday morning at around 1000. I was their first customer that day so it was very quiet, and it started to fill up as it approached 1100. I order menu 2 from their menu of the day (€23) and hot tea (€4.5). Menu 2 included 2 Luxemburg dishes that I wanted to try, which were bouneschlupp (Green bean spup) and kniddelen met speck (Dumplings with bacon). Both dishes were in generous portion and tasted very good. My favorite would be thr kniddelen met speck, the white sauce coated the dumpling with the right viscosity, and the bacon was properly cooked and was slightly crispy and not fatty at all. The presentation may looked ordinary, but don't judge a book by its cover. This Luxemburg dish tasted smooth, creamy, and filling. I would definitely prioritize visiting this restaurant again the next time I visit Luxemburg.

📍 Bistrot de la Presse, Luxembourg Walked by this charming Parisian-style bistrot right at Place d’Armes 🏛️—prime location, buzzing atmosphere, and very lunch-time energy 🥐☕. Sadly, our experience ended before it even began 😅 Despite arriving during lunch, we were politely but firmly shown the door 🚪❌ due to having no reservation. No option to wait, no “maybe later,” just a swift au revoir 👋. A bit disappointing, especially when you’re hungry and hopeful 😩🍽️ That said, we do get it — the place was absolutely packed 🧍‍♂️🧍‍♀️🧍, clearly popular for a reason! So lesson learned: book ahead or risk heartbreak 💔📖 Still looks like a lively spot with great vibes — just don’t wing it at lunchtime 😉✨

If you’re looking for a place to get traditional food in Luxembourg City, THIS is the place. The location, quality, and price point cannot be beat. The Bouneschlupp and Kniddelen are a fantastic choice. There’s also a nice, small selection of local beers and wines. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the service is excellent.

Wonderful local food right in the middle of all the tourist attractions. The place can be busy during peak dinner times, so best to book online. We had the pork neck, bouneschlupp soup and the potato gallette. They were all really good. If you want to try local food in Luxembourg, you can't go wrong with this place.
