Bistrot Rougemont

A quintessential French Bistro experience! Absolutely delightful in every way. The owner/host served us escargots 🐌 for lunch (not typical) and they were superb. Reservations absolutely required for this unique experience which was absolutely one of our very favorite of our entire Parisian experience 👍👌🍷

Nice and cozy restaurant. Our starters were good (veloutet of butternut squash and ouef parfait in light curry), and for the mains we had the raviolis with salmon and stuffed with pate which were quite good, whilst the beef bourgignon was good subtle flavor but was mostly tendons and extremely tough and difficult to cut, let alone chew and eat. That was the only disappointing dish. Good tarte aux pommes and coffee. The owner/chef was warm and friendly and kindly and patiently took us through the chalkboard menu in English, explaining (almost) everything was farm to table and extremely fresh. Lots of French speaking patrons there which is usually a good sign. Overall decent food and good value for a nice dining experience

Best restaurant we ate at during our stay in Paris. The owner's passion for the restaurant shines through as he takes his time to walk guests through the menu. In particular, the French toast was fantastic. Phenomenal experience for a very fair price.

This little restaurant is a hidden gem, it is small in size but overflowing with heart. The daily special felt like something crafted with genuine care, almost as if a kind neighbor had invited me over and cooked their very best dish straight from their own kitchen. Everything was freshly prepared, served warm, and full of flavor, with a homely touch that you can’t find in bigger, more polished places. It’s comfort food at its purest: simple, tasty, and made with love.

The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant however the meal did not meet expectations considering the star rating on Google. The steak was tough and flavourless and the chips like something out of a supermarket frozen section. Sorry had hoped for better given the past reviews.

Sometimes food is just fuel. It energizes and gets you to the next day. Sometimes it’s more. Tonight it was so much more. It was transformative. We showed up early, before the restaurant was open, in the rain, without reservations. The owner took us in and we enjoyed a drink while they finished prepping for the night. The hospitality was enough but then the transformation began. I won’t take you through the meal as the menu changes daily but encourage you to trust their guidance and prepare to be wowed. This meal and place made our day and trip. Thank you!

Best meal I had on my trip to Paris. We went with a large group and everyone was amazed. The food was fantastic, and the menu of the day was perfect. You can absolutely tell when people are passionate about food and have high standards for quality. My family was able to talk to the owner about his farm where he grows the food, which was special because my brother is also an organic sheep and chicken farmer. The staff was kind and helpful and patient with such a large group. Seriously, I could not recommend them more highly!

This was my second time dining here, and the food and service have been consistently amazing. We were celebrating our honeymoon, and the staff made the whole experience so special. Every dish is prepared with such intention and care , the flavours, presentation, everything is just done so well. It’s truly one of the best dinners we’ve had in Paris. We can’t wait to come back!

The food was fresh and amazing. Very nice staff that was excellent and had fantastic suggestion's. Neighborhood gem.

We stayed at the Nell Hotel and were not too eager to again go too far for dinner - after all, we had already walked about 17 miles over the entire day! Furthermore, it had started to rain. So we looked in the neighborhood and were off the major tourist streams not disappointed at all. The restaurant had a cute ambiance and the staff was very nice. Unfortunately, I do not remember the exact names of our menu items - but rest assured, all were very delicious. Only one issue: Some off the chairs including mine - have come of age and do not guarantee to carry the weight - Please replace!

In Paris with a friend and her mother and we wanted a nice local dinner after a long day at the Louvre. This bistrot is next to our Airbnb and we were lucky to snag a reservation for 7:30pm. You NEED a reservation as we saw several parties turned away, though there was a very large party the same evening we were there, so maybe busier than usual? Who knows. The food was excellent, we had delicious slow cooked chuck steak with smashed potatoes, and a crème brûlée for dessert. Truly outstanding, simple but delicious French food.

Tremendous meal. Escargot and beef tataki to start, with fresh French bread. A bottle of a good red blend. Truffle and cheese raviolis shared by two (plenty!) and I had the slow cooked lamb shoulder with bulgur wheat and satay. Outstanding. We ate outside and it was quite pleasant. Fantastic service and the whole tab including wine was €119, which I consider a good deal for a meal that caliber for 3 adults.

Went here on a whim but it turned out to be a very good experience - the waitstaff was nice and explained the menu in English for us, the entrees and main dishes were both delicious (plus free Champaign when we sat down). Check it out if you're nearby!

We showed up without reservation. It was early and there were plenty of tables. We were told that all were reserved and we were seated in the back by the toilets. As we sat and watched, few customers showed up later (all spoke French or had European accent) without reservation (I guess they didn't realize I understood French) and were seated in the front. Food was good but nothing exceptional. It was difficult to get attention of the waiter who was too busy chatting with few other local customers. It was always "one minute." Unfortunately there was only 1 waiter and 1 help who couldn't really do anything other than set the table. We were completely ignored. Overall, service was terrible. We wouldn't come back or recommend this restaurant.

First meal in Paris 2019 was here and it was superb!!!! Going back soon with my family this time. I can't wait to try the other dishes offered here!!

Ate here twice in 2 days because the food was so good! If it were just the food, that would be one thing, but the service was impeccable. They anticipated our needs and never let the water, break, or wine, go empty. Might go back again tomorrow for lunch!
