The 20 Best Resorts in the Caribbean: 2023 Readers’ Choice Awards | Condé Nast Traveler

"Our readers will be coming here til the… well, you know. And for good reason: When casting their ballots for Bitter End Yacht Club, most all voters made some mention of the property's ample selection of water sports and activities, with one going so far as to bestow the superlative of “best marina staff in all of the [British Virgin Islands].” Further, there are “no airs allowed," with the laidback atmosphere consistently praised as well." - CNT Editors

This Resort Has the First Overwater Bungalows in the British Virgin Islands

"Bitter End Yacht Club, a nautical-themed resort in the British Virgin Islands, reopened in 2021 after complete destruction by Hurricane Irma in 2017. Following a four-year closure and ground-up rebuild, the newly reimagined resort welcomes guests back to the 64-acre island outpost on Virgin Gorda. It features all-new Marina Lofts, which are the only overwater bungalows in the British Virgin Islands. Originally founded in 1969, the resort is accessible only by boat, popular among sailors and yacht enthusiasts. The expansive resort is at the intersection of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, known as the "end of the line." Guests can enjoy a two-story, open-air main plaza, the Clubhouse restaurant, and many water sports activities. The Bitter End Market offers local provisions, including the chef's world-famous key lime pie. The resort provides a variety of dining options and a unique beach bar made from a sunken vessel." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We docked here for 2 nights. The staff is very nice and helpful, and the place looks gorgeous. There are free ferries to Gun Creek, and Saba Rock, so you’ll have access to other activities in the area. We’d definitely come and stay here again, since we didn’t have time to try everything they have to offer. The only drawbacks that come to mind is the lack of proper swimming area (it seems like they have one, but it’s very small, and there’s lots of boat traffic), and gas and grocery prices.

One of my all time favorite places to visit in the BVIs. The location is chef's kiss perfect and right next door to Saba Rock. We have used both the mooring balls and docked in a slip, but have not stayed in any of the rooms. This club has showers and laundry service, a great little grocery store, and a clothing and souvenir shop. The club is adding a few new bungalows that look absolutely stunning and should be ready to rent by the end of February 2025.

Spent a few hours at the beach bar. Drinks were great and service was quick. We had the coconut mahi ceviche, tuna nachos and crispy shrimp. Definitely worth coming ashore on a dingy if you are sailing in the area.

Stayed at the marina to wait out the storms. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The quality of the food and drinks was good. Snorkeling was great. The food and drinks are way over priced but that's not abnormal for the BVI. Reasonable marina fees up front but they charge for power & water. Free trash pickup and decent showers.

During our regatta through the British Virgin Isles, we stayed at this amazing beach club on Virgin Gorda. While snorkeling, I wound up finding this awesome bottle in the strait between Bitter End Yacht Club and Saba Rock resort. Appears that the coral encrusted bottle was from a sunken ship in the late 1800s. Way too cool!!

Nestled in a breathtaking location, this place is a true gem for watching the sunset. Our visit here was primarily for the pizza, and we were not disappointed! The pizzas exceeded our expectations, especially the lobster pizza which was absolutely mouthwatering. The architectural design of the place is simply stunning. Kudos to the architect for seamlessly blending everything together, creating an outstanding ambiance. The staff here are incredibly friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall wonderful experience. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience with a view. Can’t wait to visit again!

I am enamored with BEYC. We were bareboating and stayed in the bay on our boat, and went there for dinner, drinks and to get some groceries. As always, the food is delicious, I had lobster and it was cooked to perfection. The beachfront and bay is beautiful, the grounds are beautiful and very well kept, staff are so nice and attentive, and the shop and market have great products. We wanted to go to the Baths and not move the boat and to our surprise they have a free ferry service that runs on the hour all day, to and from the ferry dock on Virgin Gorda. They even arranged a taxi to pick us up at the ferry dock and then bring us back when we were done. You have to let the front desk know when you want to take the ferry. The market had good food but we were trying to re-provision our boat and didn't have everything we were looking for. That said, it isn't a supermarket so this is totally understandable. Boat users can use their showers for free. We didn't so we don't know what they looked like. The shop had lots of clothes, accessories, and fun stuff. Some pricey but that is expected as this is a higher end resort. They have some rooms at the resort but because it was totally destroyed by Hurricane Irma, they are building a brand new hotel building.
