My friend and I wanted to try out a pottery class for her birthday, so we signed up for the adult beginner class which was $80/person! The reservation process online was pretty seamless and easy to do - all you have to do is choose your location (in this case the Hayden Tract location), date, and number of people!
When we arrived at the studio to check, we were instructed to sign in, grab an apron, put on a name tag, and store our belongings in a locker. The space itself was a very nice open layout, and you could see areas for each part of the process! The designated class area had individual stations including an adjustable stool, pottery wheel, tools, water bowl, and a tripod for capturing your progress during the sessions (everyone in my session loved this addition!).
The class began with a demonstration from the instructor outlining each step of the process we would complete to make a bowl. When we started our work as a class, the instructors made sure to answer our questions and gave us advice (or help if we had something to fix) on how to complete each step. They waited until each person had finished each step before moving on, which I appreciated because it didn't feel too rushed but also allowed for everyone to receive support and additional time to feel satisfied with each step. At the end of the session, you can decorate/shape your bowls and the instructors will use wire clay cutters to remove your bowl from the wheel. From there, you clean up your station, select a glaze, and fill out the contact information to be notified when your piece is ready!
Disclaimer: I haven't picked up my piece yet, so that may definitely impact my review if I were to update it. However, I really enjoyed my time at BRP and would definitely recommend their classes to other people! They also have a sister store next door that sells pieces created in the studio :)
