Bitterroot River Ranch

What a wonderful experience! Dorothy and Lyn (and Hank the dog) were the perfect hosts! The home is stunning and well-appointed. I appreciated the coffee/tea bar, the nighttime snacks, and wonderfully decorated ambiance! The room and bath were wonderful with the best fixtures/fittings/decorations and linens! The breakfasts were absolutely amazing with variety and care in each and every offering. This was my first ever experience at a B&B and it has set the bar pretty high!

An utterly dreamy ranch stay in Montana hosted by the friendliest hosts. We stayed in the ‘Cowboy’ room which was full of western charm, immaculately clean and we loved the bathroom. Dorothy and Lynne are the such sweet and kind people. Dorothy made two absolutely DELICIOUS breakfasts during our stay. It was super fresh with homemade sauces etc. It was so good I asked for the recipe. You feel right at home as soon as you step through the door. ||Thank you - we hope to be back some day!

The Bitterroot River Ranch is the epitome of a perfect Montana getaway. They should put this place on a postcard. The cabin self is amazing—every detail has been meticulously thought out. The accommodations are definitely luxurious. The rooms are beautifully crafted with themed rooms, top-tier beds, linens, and pillows. The bathrooms are spa-like, with a huge soaking tub and custom-tiled showers. What truly sets this place apart is how seamlessly everything comes together—it’s more than just a place to stay; it’s a work of art. The hosts are warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. Our daily excursions meant our schedule varied, but Mrs. Dorothy went above and beyond to coordinate with us each evening to ensure breakfast was ready exactly when we needed it. And the breakfast—wow. I typically skip breakfast, but not here. Every morning was amazing, far beyond your average hotel continental breakfast. Think five-star, chef-quality meals that you’ll look forward to waking up for. I honestly can’t imagine how this experience could be improved. Bitterroot River Ranch is an amazing place with amazing people, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The setting of this ranch is stunning. It is so peaceful sitting outside on the patio. The bed is so comfortable and the room is so inviting. Dorothy and Lynn are so kind and welcoming every day we stayed at the ranch. The different breakfast foods served each day were all so delicious! I highly recommend staying at this ranch. You will love it!

Dorothy and Lynn's Bitterroot River Ranch is an immaculate B&B home in a spectacular setting with 360 views of Montana beauty. We enjoyed spending mornings over delicious, homemade breakfast with this multi-generational family - their granddaughters were visiting, working hard and learning the ropes of B&B and ranch life! - and picture perfect with darling dog, Hank. They are always working and always smiling - a true labor of love running their hospitable home and operating the ranch business. It's quite impressive. While being warm and welcoming, they also gave us lots of space to feel comfortable to just retreat to our room with its comfortable accommodations, to use their outdoor hot tub and to leave for excursions. We enjoyed the local restaurants and activities (fly fishing, horseback riding and kayak river float for us!) Everything about our Montana experience was authentic and inviting.

We had a fantastic time at the Bitterroot River Ranch! From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed. The ranch itself is absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious, and Lynn and Dorothy went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. Hank the dog was an added bonus—such a fun and friendly companion! We’d love to come back again.

Lynn and Dorothy are some of the nicest and genuine people you’ll ever meet. |Their place is beautiful like something out of a dream. From relaxing on the porch soaking in Montana views to the fresh and delicious breakfast Dorothy makes, the B&B experience they provide is unmatched.

You can't ask for a better B&B than The Bitterroot River Ranch. The accommodations are spectacular as are the views. The main house is awesome, a true Montana Lodge with a beautiful stone fireplace. The hosts and the home cooked breakfast are delightful. Enjoy your stay, you will be treated like family.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It was everything we expected and more. Owners Lynn and Dorothy were the perfect host. Dorothy's breakfast were unique and delicious, you can bet you never left the table hungry. The lodge and its grounds were amazing our room was beautifully decorated, each morning waking up seeing the cows grazing in the pastures from our windows. Seeing Max following Lynn as he starts his day. We definitely will make a return trip...so true, arrive as strangers leave as friends. Thank you Lynn and Dorothy for your hospitality. The best B&B. This gem is in the small town of Darby Mt. The beautiful luxurious log home sits on a shelf that offers panoramic views of the valley and mountains. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The owner Dorothy prepares delicious breakfasts and will surprise you with homemade cookie and other delectables in the afternoon. Dorothy and her husband Lynn are warm hosts who offer suggestions to help you explore the historic areas or fish on the world class river. All this is offered at reasonable rates. Love this place

What a treat!!! Dorothy was as attentive as you can get... Great breakfasts and the room was wonderful. The setting was beautiful with breathtaking views of the Bitterroot mountains. By the time we left we felt like family.

What a wonderful place to stay if your travels bring you near Darby, Montana. Owners Lynn and Dorothy seemed like old friends, and their property is comfortable and beautifully located with sweeping views of the river and mountains. Dorothy serves old-fashioned big breakfasts, too! If you like dogs, you will love their dog Max (a boxer). We enjoyed staying at Bitterroot River Ranch and will do our best to get back there again, soon.
