What a wonderful experience! Dorothy and Lyn (and Hank the dog) were fun hosts! The home is lovely and well-appointed for the ranch theme. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts, even when we had an early morning fishing trip, Dorothy had food ready for us! The views are fabulous. Hank kept us from missing our dogs back home.

Make your reservation now…the Bitterroot River Ranch is absolutely stunning! This was our first experience at a Bed & Breakfast, and it surpassed all our expectations. From the moment we arrived we were wrapped in comfort and a relaxing atmosphere. ||The HOSTS…Dorothy and Lynn were so kind and caring. We loved “porch sitting” and getting to know one another, along with the other guests.||The BREAKFAST… I have no words. I don’t know how Dorothy does it, but she puts together a magical feast—not only for the taste, but for the presentation. And the baked goods in the afternoon were always a nice surprise too. ||The BED…WOW! The bed was so comfortable, and the linens were incredibly soft. We stayed in the Safari Room and there were so many details that showed great thoughtfulness.||Added BONUS (since we are big animal lovers) … their fur baby Hank who gave us endless entertainment and the friendly horse and mules we greeted upon entering and leaving the ranch daily. ||Thank you, Dorothy and Lynn for your kindness. We look forward to visiting again.

We ended our very long trip of exploring Jackson and Yellowstone here at the bitterroot BNB. It was the perfect end to our vacation. The place was beautiful with absolutely stunning views. The host Dorothy and Lynn were wonderful people to talk to and Dorothy’s breakfast each morning was scrumptious to say the least. She would also leave us yummy snacks as a little something extra. We will most definitely be back again! Thank you for the most beautiful and peaceful end to our vacation.

My brother and I had an absolutely great stay at the Bitterroot River Ranch, where we stayed for 4 nights during our 2-week trip out west. From the moment they greeted us at the door, our hosts, Dorothy and Lynn, went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Dorothy's home-cooked breakfasts were made with fresh, healthy and local ingredients, and she even baked evening treats like muffins, apple pastries, and other desserts, which were a perfect end to our days of adventure. I was so impressed with their warm hospitality. Our hosts joined us for breakfast every morning, starting with a prayer, and offered us helpful advice about the town, local activities and places to eat. Thanks to them, we had plenty to do – we enjoyed an 8-mile hike around Lake Como, a thrilling 3-hour ATV trek with breathtaking views, and a scenic 3-hour boat ride down the Salmon River! We were even able to attend the exciting Darby Rodeo that weekend - a first for us. We also appreciated relaxing outside on the porch, alternatively playing guitar and playing with Hank, their beautiful puppy, and socializing with the other friendly guests who joined us. This ranch is fully operational and the lodge, with all its amenities, is simply exquisite. Thank you again for a wonderful stay and the perfect Montana experience.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Bitterroot River Ranch and hope to go back some day for a longer stay. Everything about the house and property was perfect - really! The bed was one of the most comfortable that we've ever slept on. Their attention to detail made our stay even more enjoyable. The meals were nothing short of amazing and in the afternoons they provided banana chocolate chip muffins one day and warm apple cake with caramel icing the next. The host's hospitality was "above and beyond". We've stayed in many VRBO's over the years and this was the best that we've ever enjoyed.

We had an absolute wonderful time at the Bitterroot River Ranch. Spectacular views all around and a stunning home that is impeccably maintained. Lynn and Dorothy are some of the nicest people you are going to ever meet and Dorothy's breakfasts are superb. The ranch is near many local attractions and they were very helpful with navigating our activities. This was our first time in Montana and we will be back for sure. An utterly dreamy ranch stay in Montana hosted by the friendliest hosts. We stayed in the ‘Cowboy’ room which was full of western charm, immaculately clean and we loved the bathroom. Dorothy and Lynne are the such sweet and kind people. Dorothy made two absolutely DELICIOUS breakfasts during our stay. It was super fresh with homemade sauces etc. It was so good I asked for the recipe. You feel right at home as soon as you step through the door. ||Thank you - we hope to be back some day!

The setting of this ranch is stunning. It is so peaceful sitting outside on the patio. The bed is so comfortable and the room is so inviting. Dorothy and Lynn are so kind and welcoming every day we stayed at the ranch. The different breakfast foods served each day were all so delicious! I highly recommend staying at this ranch. You will love it!

You can't ask for a better B&B than The Bitterroot River Ranch. The accommodations are spectacular as are the views. The main house is awesome, a true Montana Lodge with a beautiful stone fireplace. The hosts and the home cooked breakfast are delightful. Enjoy your stay, you will be treated like family.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It was everything we expected and more. Owners Lynn and Dorothy were the perfect host. Dorothy's breakfast were unique and delicious, you can bet you never left the table hungry. The lodge and its grounds were amazing our room was beautifully decorated, each morning waking up seeing the cows grazing in the pastures from our windows. Seeing Max following Lynn as he starts his day. We definitely will make a return trip...so true, arrive as strangers leave as friends. Thank you Lynn and Dorothy for your hospitality. The best B&B. This gem is in the small town of Darby Mt. The beautiful luxurious log home sits on a shelf that offers panoramic views of the valley and mountains. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The owner Dorothy prepares delicious breakfasts and will surprise you with homemade cookie and other delectables in the afternoon. Dorothy and her husband Lynn are warm hosts who offer suggestions to help you explore the historic areas or fish on the world class river. All this is offered at reasonable rates. Love this place

What a treat!!! Dorothy was as attentive as you can get... Great breakfasts and the room was wonderful. The setting was beautiful with breathtaking views of the Bitterroot mountains. By the time we left we felt like family.

What a wonderful place to stay if your travels bring you near Darby, Montana. Owners Lynn and Dorothy seemed like old friends, and their property is comfortable and beautifully located with sweeping views of the river and mountains. Dorothy serves old-fashioned big breakfasts, too! If you like dogs, you will love their dog Max (a boxer). We enjoyed staying at Bitterroot River Ranch and will do our best to get back there again, soon.
