Inside this place is so beautiful we liked its design, it is confortable and cozy. It is kind of minimalist place and we really enjoyed being there, Food and drinks is also good. Very recommended the caramelized pineapple mule cocktail.

Great lounge area and drinks for either a date night or hanging out with a small group of friends! The bartenders are complete professionals and true mixologists. Our new favorite spot in town!

Excellent service along with a nice outdoor setting. The food and drinks were great also.

Best resturant / Best food / best cocktails. Waiters and waitress were so friendly. They took so much time to make sure our meal was awesome. We were very tired from the day day of sight seeing. Thank you for taking care of 2 tired travelers.

Yelp
4.5 but I'll round up. Went with big group of guys for event weekend. Started out not so great as we waited over 45 mins past res for our table. But handled well. Manager came a couple times to update us at bar. And ending up comping our first two rounds of drinks. That was appreciated. Service was first rate. My group was loud and our waiter and even other staff engaged and really did a great job. Expected at a place like this but staff delivered. Food was excellent. Bread melts in your mouth. We ordered many plates of bone marrow and everyone enjoyed that a lot. Wagyu hot plate was ok. One odd part. Ordered a bottle of Malbec and they were out of every kind. He did a bottle of the one by the glass it was decent but not great. Halibut was very good. Steaks were all good with the filet standing out. All mid rare. The only issue is one ribeye was very rare and refired twice but still was very rare. But we got over it. Sides were good , none really stood out as special but solid. Not really a desert person but they give us a sampler for table. The bread pudding was incredible. And cheesecake... cheesecake normally always is same. Good but dense and heavy. This was maybe the lightest most creamy any of us had ever had. Well done. All in all a great night. Took a long time but we enjoyed. Worth a visit for sure.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel, which is fabulous. We heard from several diners that this was the best steakhouse in town. The appetizers and bread were amazing. The service was good. The ambiance was great. We were seated on the terrace, a very nice experience. The steak was... well, if I owned a restaurant, I'd be embarrassed. I paid $85 for a 22 oz. mid-rare bone-in ribeye that came out lukewarm, and was sent back to be re-fired. It came back no better. It was tough, under-cooked, under-seasoned, and certainly over-priced. Silver skin in a ribeye? I didn't know that was a thing. If I have to ask for salt, how can you be a steak house? I tried subtlety on the staff to indicate my displeasure, but it was lost. I realized that they honestly didn't recognize what made a passable steak. I was cheated out of even a decent steak. You can do better at Golden Corral. Nice place, but pass on the beef.

Yelp
Really really good! We ended up ordering out because they were booked the only night we were in Louisville. I'm so glad we did, the food was amazing! 4 Stars just due to the fact we couldn't call in the order, you can only order from inside and wait onsite. Also, for the teeny TINY two bite lobster tail. Guessing since it was a to go order they gave us the tiny one. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars. The restaurant itself is very nice and not too loud. Hope to get back here someday and eat there.

Yelp
I'm always one to look for a place that serves up a delicious steak and here at Repeal they absolutely know what they are doing when it comes to just that. Repeal is a fine dining restaurant on Main Street in Downtown Louisville and I recommend getting yourself a reservation before you come here. The atmosphere here is one of fine dining but yet one that is very relaxed and laid back. You'll want to make sure you wear something a bit business casual here as it absolutely is a fancy restaurant. The food here was absolutely delicious as I went with their 12oz barrel filet, baked Mac & cheese as well as a few cocktails to go with it. This was without a doubt one of the best filets I've ever had. It was very juicy and just melted in my mouth. My wife and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and they did everything for us to make sure our celebration was a great one and even providing us with free dessert. I went with the pistachio crème brûlée and it was so dang delicious that I made sure to savior every single bite. We were very well taken care of by the wait staff as they never made us feel unattended to and always making sure our drinks were filled and that we were happy. I absolutely recommend coming here for any occasion even if it's just for some dessert and drinks or even if you're also celebrating a special time in your life as I know I will definitely be coming back here.

Yelp
The service was fantastic, the drinks were great and the food was delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly and the crust was amazing. The bread here is addicting and will keep you coming back. I love lobster bisque however I would skip ordering it from here. Everything else was perfect! Ordered: Lobster bisque Oysters Rockefeller Baked Crab Cake Whipped Yukon Gold Potatoes Dry Aged Bi Ribeye 22oz Espresso martini Gold Rush Old Fashioned What stood out and impressed me (other than the steak) the bread, baked crab cake & the Gold Rush Old Fashioned, I'm normally not a fan of old fashions but wow it was good.

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal experience at Repeal Steakhouse. I had a perfectly cooked steak, my husband had scallops, and we shared the family-style mashed potatoes -- everything was incredible. We started with shrimp cocktails and cocktails from the bar, and our server surprised us with complimentary champagne to celebrate us just signing on a new house, which was such a thoughtful touch. The setting is beautiful -- we sat on the main floor overlooking the street, never felt rushed, and loved the chance to people-watch. After dinner we wandered to the connected hotel bar for one more drink, which was the perfect end to the night. Even the bathroom was gorgeous (and selfie-worthy!). Flawless service, amazing food, and an elegant atmosphere -- we'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Simply one of the best meals I've had. We came for our wedding anniversary and had the most wonderful time. The service was top tier, very professional and helpful. The vibe was classy and cozy, I loved the lighting and plants. From the drinks to the food, we were blown away by each item. I saw others' reviews of the bread and wow!! Everyone was right. The bread was a showstopper. The steak was the best I've had in town-- smooth, evenly cooked, perfect seasoning. The tuna tartar was phenomenal, I highly recommend. Perfect salad and soup, incredible bread pudding (which we took home so I didn't photograph). My honey for the bees cocktail is my new favorite drink in town. We will absolutely be returning here many times in the future.

Yelp
I thought the drinks were better than the food. I had a $20 Old Fashioned Signature. It was absolutely perfect. One giant ice cube, and flavor on point. I also tried the $13 Espresso Martini and it was also very good. I liked the strong espresso taste and the micro ice shards. For food, I had the $14 onion soup to start. Not overly salty, but definitely overly cheesy. I thought pretty good, not great. Then, I had the $60 8oz filet mignon. I asked for medium, but it came medium rare. I thought it lacked flavor and was just ok. I added on the $7 chimichuri, but it sadly wasn't any good. For a side I tried the $15 mushroom. They were the best food item of the night. Absolutely packed on a Friday night. If I came back, I'd only order drinks.

Yelp
Making my the majority of my review based off of our second experience with a last minute reservation booking vs our first experience, which I had booked in advance. First experience: What we ordered: My boyfriend: Spicy Tuna Tartare. 10 out of 10. Our waiter Keith said it's his wife's favorite & my boyfriend fully understands why! Japanese A5 Wagyu Ribeye. Cuts like butter. Phenomenal. First Wagyu experience. Me: Chicken Breast with Green beans & Mashed potatoes. I'm a self proclaimed mashed potato connoisseur & would highly recommend!!! Chicken was perfect. Green beans could have had a few more added but overall great. Dessert: Dark Chocolate Mousse. Would be a missed opportunity if you don't order the mousse!! Our waiter KEITH was PHENOMENAL. I highly recommend him if possible!!! He was very knowledgeable & let me know I was in good hands at repeal with being Gluten Free. Keith let us know they had Gluten Free Bread which he "has been told it's pretty good" & it was!!! The regular bread was also really good according to my boyfriend. Keith had the wonderful "tip" of letting my boyfriend know he should dip his bread in the left over Wagyu sauce left on the plate. Our first experience was soo amazing that we wanted to come back while we were in Louisville. There was no available reservation spots online. We called & let them know we were in earlier in the week, had the Japanese A5 Wagyu & planned to order it again if we could get reservations. Repeal was able to accommodate us in giving us a reservation with the ultimatum of being able to be out within an hour and 45 mins. Which was not an issue for us! Second experience: What we ordered: My boyfriend- French onion soup. A very LARGE portion. Could be a meal on its own. Very delicious. The scissors were a nice touch! Japanese A5 Wagyu. Strip Steak. Mushrooms that he didn't eat because his eyes are bigger than his stomach. Me: Same as before. When we arrived for our last minute reservation we were placed in what felt like the tables meant for last minute guests. Which is fine, I get it. However our service was not up to standard that time & certainly not the service one would expect for ordering one of the most expensive items on the menu. The food was still really great. However, our waiter's assistant held the Gluten Free Bread plate with his hand over the bread and gripping the bottom with his finger tips. Pretty much with his palm touching my food. When we boxed up our meals, they put mine with my boyfriends. So they had to give me a new order of mashed potatoes to go. Overall, I would highly recommend eating here as long as you make your reservation in advance on a slower day of the week.

Yelp
Great food, great service and met many great people at the bar!! We had a filet, lobster, oysters and beef tartar. All were amazing. We will definitely be back!!

Yelp
Another birthday trip to Louisville and Hotel Distil. Had breakfast at Repeal one morning. Couldn't decide between the crab omelette or the crab Benedict so I asked for the omelette and some of the yummy spicy hollandaise on the side! Service was excellent, as always.

Yelp
Food was decent. Service was very slow. Would certainly try again, maybe not so late in the evening next time.

Yelp
This experience was outstanding from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and elegant, and the staff made us feel welcome right away. We started with the Truffle Honey Burrata, which was creamy and perfectly balanced with grilled bread. For the main course, I ordered the Faroe Island Salmon, cooked beautifully and served with almond salsa macha, herb salad, and asparagus. I paired it with a glass of Pinot Grigio from Terlato, which was crisp and refreshing. The Bourbon Bread Pudding ended the meal perfectly. Everything was flawless. Will definitely return ASAP.

Yelp
Repeal morning brunch: Surprisingly the $20 credit per person for staying at Hotel Distil covered us getting brunch apps and coffee. It does not cover an entree. Most of the brunch entrees were spicy (in taste and price!). Coffee service was slow but it was $4.50 a person so whatever. Wish they would leave a carafe on the table. We ate here 2 days and it was a-okay.

Yelp
We went to Repeal for my birthday dinner. My wife made the reservations. We arrived at our reservation time and were seated pretty quickly. The hostess was really friendly and assisted us to our seats. Our server Josh was top tier! He was the perfect amount of fun, friendly and professional. Gave amazing suggestions for food. My wife was on crutches and the manger made sure she got to her seat safely and came by a few times to make sure she was comfortable. That was very appreciative. We started with the baked crab cake and it was amazing real crab meat, very minimal filler! I had the Caesar salad and that was very good! For my main entree, I ordered the dry aged Center Cut NY Strip, my wife had the Whole Roasted Dover Sole Meunière. We will absolutely come back, food was delicious!

Yelp

Yelp
My husband and I went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I got the reservation about a month out on open table. We were blown away by the service. The hostess was lovely. Our waiters Josh and Mason were amazing. Food was excellent, arguably the best filet I have ever had. The seasoning was sooo good. Bread pudding for dessert was to die for. I recommend splitting the wedge. They even gave us complimentary glasses of champagne with dessert because it was our anniversary. Pricey but so worth it!

Yelp
I was here for breakfast. I had the All American breakfast. 2 eggs (ordered over medium), bacon, breakfast potato's and toast. The server came quickly to take my order. I only had water and she kept it full. When my breakfast came my eggs were over hard, the bacon was limp and the potatoes were not home fries as I expected but whole potatoes seasoned, and only 1 small slice of toast. I was a bit disappointed all in all. This is a pretty swanky place at dinner and I thought the breakfast would be exceptional. There is nothing within walking distance for breakfast until a bit later so I was kind of at their mercy.

Yelp
One of favorite brunch spots in Louisville! Excellent service, ambiance and food! Highly recommend

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!!! We secured a reservation here after seeing all the great reviews. Beautiful spot with fabulous service and food. The husband enjoyed the tomahawk pork chop with shaved Brussels sprouts and roasted carrots. The bread they serve comes out flaky and warm. It is so delicious with a slather of whipped butter. I enjoyed the crab cake which was one of the best I have ever had. Packed full of chunks of crab and served with a wonderful remoulade sauce. I also had the billionaire twice baked potato with shaved truffles. Overall, fantastic dining experience. It was our favorite restaurant that we dined at in Louisville! Our server, Josh and the general manager, Brian were great! Top notch service!

Yelp
Firstly-the service was impeccable. Five stars. The chairs-super comfortable. We had a two top right by the door and despite the noise-it still felt intimate. It is not cramped with too many tables. It is loud. I mean loud. Do not bring anyone hard of hearing or sensitive to noise. It was a Friday night-so that might not be the case all the time. The food? It was okay. The Oysters Rockafeller were good. The homemade bread was soft and tasty. The Waygu appetizer with a hot stone..I didn't like it-my partner said the stone wasn't hot enough. He certainly ate it. Our side of broccoli was not really cooked. I love a crisp steak-but it was legit uncooked-like made steamed for one minute. I got the Dean Filet. It arrived cold. Again the service was great and he remedied it-but it was just okay. Not really worth $85-at all. We had two appetizers, two steaks, & one soda...the bill was just shy of $300. The price point was good. Not gonna lie, I could have had better at a chain steakhouse-but the service and atmosphere made it worth it. Again, service and atmosphere were great-they comped us a cheesecake because it was my partner's birthday. It was delicious. I was slightly disappointed in the food-but still had a very nice time. Also-someone brought in a large pet DOG (not a service animal-which is inappropriate and gross). I don't think a customer. He was wearing shorts. I think they must have been friends with someone who worked there because it was there a few minutes and they hung out with the hostess for a while. Over all-it was fine. Not great. Not terrible. The stars making it a 4 not 3 are because of the awesome staff.

Yelp
Unbelievable food & amazing service. Our waiter was knowledgeable & kind; he didn't steer us wrong on anything! The crabcakes are the best you'll ever have & the steaks are done to perfection. Salads are fresh & the desserts are worth the extra few pounds to treat yourself before you call it a night. We will go back every time we visit Louisville!

Yelp
Repeal comes highly recommended but it may be an acquired taste that I may not have. I found the food to lack seasoning, everything tasted like salt. The steaks have a charred taste to them because of the way they are cooked. The sea bass lacked flavor, the mushrooms were my favorite sides, we also got Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, I thought they were okay, also lacked flavor. The oyster Rockefeller were big in size and tasty. The steak that I ordered was to be cooked medium but it came out more medium rare- I just sent it back to be cooked a little longer. It was no problem but they admitted fault because it was very rare and fixed the problem. Our server was very patient and nice. She did great and brought things out in a timely manner. When it was nearing the end of the dinner, I was still eating because my food took longer to come out due to it needing to be cooked a little longer but the waiter came out as I took a bite and asked if I was done eating so he could box my food away. I did feel rushed and that the manager and second server weren't as patient as the one who took our order and handled most of our needs. But that's fine, it was getting close to closing time. The restaurant is very beautiful but feels casual. We came for a birthday dinner. I do think there are better steak houses in Louisville. The steak was nothing special.

Yelp
We were looking for a spot to grab a drink in downtown Louisville and stumbled upon Repeal Steakhouse inside the Autograph Collection hotel. Miranda and Keith were behind the bar and made the experience exceptional--friendly and knowledgeable. Miranda mixed one of the best Manhattans I've ever had. It was so good, we ended up staying for dinner. The Faroe Islands Salmon was perfectly cooked, and the bread they brought out was so good I took the rest home. Highly recommend if you're in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for a celebratory dinner, and had a nice time, but overall a little disappointed by the value. This is an expensive night out, so I expected more. The service was a little confusing because we had one main server and two apprentices that would pop in, and while I appreciate that everyone was trying to be attentive, it became a little overbearing and mostly created unnecessary interruptions. We ordered the wagyu, and it was great, but the waiter didn't tell us how to cook it and that the slab was extremely hot until we asked for instruction. Enjoyed our meal overall, but can definitely get better value elsewhere
google avatar

Yelp
We highly recommend that you make reservations for this steakhouse. The food is absolutely amazing and the service was impeccable. We have to give a big shout out to Bryce our server who was spectacular! he convinced my ribeye loving husband to try the New York strip and he was absolutely right! It was delicious We had made a reservation for7:30 in the evening. And arrived around seven and they were able to see us right away. The downstairs area was very busy and very loud so we were excited that we were seated upstairs in the conservatory type area. We enjoyed the ambience of the area that we were seated in . My husband started with the lobster bisque. They do use Sherry in their lobster bisque, but it is made with their soup and not poured on top which was amazing for us. I opted for the gold beet and cheese salad, which was spectacular. The golden beets were just perfect! We both planned to order steak, so Bryce, suggested that we do it as a meatboard where it's pre-cut for us so that we would have the option to try each others and share. It was absolutely the perfect recommendation for us and we enjoyed being able to share the ribeye and also the strip steak. Love the little char that got on the strip - provided the extra flavor and the ribeye meat flavoring was amazing as was the New York strip. Truly great steaks for the area!

Yelp
Couldn't have picked a better location for an anniversary dinner. The dining room is classy and intimate and very nicely decorated. Our server was lovely. He answered all of our questions and even offered us a complimentary dessert as we were celebrating. The sweet potato casserole (side) was our favorite part of the meal by far. I'd recommend making a reservation online!

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Loved the location as it was within walking distance from our hotel and in the heart of Whiskey Row. The food was awesome - we started with the beet salad and then graduated to delicious filets . I ordered the 8 oz filet and ate every. single. bite. I'm not sure I've ever eaten 8 oz of meat in one sitting but it was so stellar, no bite could be left behind. We also got the twice-baked potato which was delicious and the grilled broccoli. Dessert was incredible - the bread pudding was to die for! We also got lucky and when I mentioned my love of Spanish wines was able to get a gorgeous pour of a Tempranillo despite it only being offered by the bottle. Overall, a beautiful meal and outstanding service.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. Definitely worth returning. The bone marrow and steaks were amazing. Usually a few tables early in the bar area for a small group 2-3 if reservations are booked. Located inside Hotel Distil. Great vibe too

Yelp
I dined three times at Repeal over two days as a guest at the Hotel Distil and each experience was amazing. Beautiful, intimate dining space with lots of natural light. All the servers were upbeat, engaging and customer-focused. I started with lunch and wanted to eat light. My server Kevin highly recommended the Crabcake. He was spot-on, this thing was as good asif you were eating one in Boston. The Steak Fries with ketchup and aioli. Perfectly fried and so yummy. For dinner, I wanted to try a steak, since Repeal is a highly regarded local steakhouse. Courtney, my server, was super helpful. On a previous Louisville visit, I dined at Barn8 on Hermitage and tried their signature carrots. Well, the Grilled Carrots at Repeal were equally as good. The Fred Linz Heritage Bone-In Filet was exquisite. As expected, amazing flavor and tenderness, perfectly cooked and a sizeable 12-ounce portion (with a small bone). I was disappointed you can't order a traditional baked potato. But they do offer a $20 Billionaire's Potato that was twice baked and served with cheese and black truffles. Guess I should have tried that, but I ordered the Whipped Yukon Gold Potatoes which were insanely creamy and a massive serving for two to three. For breakfast, the Bacon, Egg & Cheddar Sandwich served on a lightly toasted bun was awesome. The thick cut pepper bacon was delish.

Yelp
Disappointing for the price. Let's start with the obvious. The food was not bad by any means. It was good. However it was not great and it was not phenomenal. The price of the food compared to the flavor left our party desiring something else. What we got: Old fashioned Oysters Burrata appetizer Deans style filet 22oz ribeye Whipped potatoes Creamed spinach Out of the above list nothing was phenomenal. Nothing knocked our socks off. The only thing we commented on being above par was the cocktail sauce that was offered with the oysters. I am no stranger to steak houses prices, but this was truly not worth it to me. It seems you are paying for the ambiance and service. This spot wants to be the best steakhouse in town but fails to deliver anything special.

Brian B.

Yelp
Hard for me to give 5 stars, but this is the exception. Everything was perfect. Waiter, Food, atmosphere, etc. it's pricey but so worth it! Thank you for a great evening!

Yelp
Repeal has been on my wife's and my radar for a while. Then finally an opportunity came I booked a reservation and waited. Once the reservation date arrived, we headed downtown. I always like it when a restaurant has valet parking, and this particular night it came in very handy since it was pouring down rain. I handed my keys to the polite valet and we headed in. We were seated promptly and that is when the great service started. Andrei informed us he was our waiter and gave us time to review the drink menu. We both settled on Gold Rush Old Fashions. It was a most outstanding cocktail. My wife ordered the Truffle Honey Burratat Cheese as an appetizer and I ordered the Lobster Bisque. Both appetizers were most excellent. While we waited on our entrees, we had another round of drinks. She had a Sazerac while I enjoyed a Repeal's Smoked Manhattan. Again both were very tasty. For our entrees, my wife selected the Center Cut NY Strip, I went with the Phoenix Style signature steak. First off, both steaks were cooked to perfection. My wife likes her steaks little more done than medium rare ( How Andrei was able to communicate that to kitchen I will never know) and I like mine medium. Both were cooked perfectly. Also, my giant prawn was cooked superbly and tasted great. We also ordered the Billionaire's Potato. A twice baked potato so big even by sharing it we could not finish it all. Biggest and most favorable potato I have had/seen in along time. Everything we had was fantastic. My only comment, is that we agreed the steaks could have used little more seasoning. Nothing major, just our personal preference. From the Valets, to the front of the desk, the yeast rolls, the servers, the ambiance, and the back of the house who cooked everything perfectly, it all worked to make our date night very enjoyable. As we waited on our car the brought around, we both agreed that we were very full and that we wanted to come back and try more offerings from Repeal.

Yelp
The best restaurant on the Bourbon Trail The food : oysters. Rockefeller were the best I've ever had. The French onion soup had more flavor than any rendition of this anywhere in the world the Parker house rolls were so good and the butter was so flavorful. I just don't know what to say. The cream spinach had a crunch and Flavor that will be with me forever We were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary and this was a pinnacle of our bourbon Trail Experience, with the makers Mark tour the whip mashed potatoes were so creamy so full of flavor, however very light and I would recommend them for every patron that walks in the door The thick-cut bacon is off the charts and sweet and complex, however a little chewy We got the 8 ounce fillet as you can see from the pictures. The chef was kind enough to slice it and split it for us tender great flavor and exactly what a fillet should be no more or less just an excellent fillet Bartender A total pro, the gold Rush old-fashioned the makers mark 46 was amazing Service, Mason and Mikaela our top notch and professional, and provided an excellent experience The better IF I wish we had more time to finish all the food Great atmosphere a very chill, relaxed environment, and very reasonably priced.

Yelp
An amazing fine dining restaurant at Main Strt! I went there just by chance, but was surprised by the dining environment at my first glance when walking in. I was sitting at the corner of the high table. The serving person said it was his favorite spot, and so do I!!! I ordered the Onion Soup and King Salmon. They were soooo delicious...I would say the onion soup is one of the best one I've ever tried. The salmon was cooked just alright-a little crispy at the edges and soft inside. The broccoli had a smoky flavor, which added another layer to the dish. Everything was perfect. I chatted with the serving person for a while to know a little about the building as well as personal background. He was really friendly and nice for all questions that I had, which really made my day. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Also, there are plenty of street parking spaces near the main street.

Yelp
WOW. I am beyond shocked to see any bad reviews for this place, as the experience my family and I had was remarkable. I will say, we were celebrating two birthdays so we got quite a lot of food. We also got about two drinks each, all of them amazing, and those who got wine were guided beautifully by our waiter to pick a wine that would suit our tastes and also pair with our meal. We did get the truffle burrata which was so good, especially with the complementary bread. The complementary bread is shockingly good for bread! For entrees, everyone else at the table got filets and I got salmon. Again, all of them were cooked perfect and the waiter was so helpful and knowledgeable about cooking times or any other questions we had. We also got several sides, the mac and cheese, the mashed potatoes, and the sweet potato casserole. We were all impressed. The French onion soup was also indescribably good. We got free dessert as well since we had birthdays at the table, so we tried the mousse and the crème brûlée. Both were gone in under a minute! It's SO worth the money, both the food and the service! Ibrahim helped us and he was so great that we all agreed we'd probably ask for him again the next time we come!

Yelp
I went to dinner to Repeal. First let me start off by saying if you plan on going on the weekend make reservations. The service and food were top tier. We ordered multiple sides, but they are shareable. We ordered the lobster tail, scallops, whipped potatoes, sweet potato casserole, asparagus, and creamed spinach. The lobster tail was seasoned to perfection. Out of all the sides the best was the whipped potatoes. The sweet potato casserole had roasted pecans on it that were too chewy, it wasn't nasty I just had to spit the pecans out. The night that we went they had a pistachio creme brûlée on the menu that was pretty. I can't wait to go back and try the breakfast and lunch menu.

First and foremost the bar tending staff here deserve all their flowers because every year my coworkers and I stay here for a week long trade show and we never are short on beverages despite the crowd! They stand on business when it comes to making sure we're liquored up. The food here is absolutely divine. There is not a single on the menu I didn't like.

Yelp
We arrived in Louisville, KY and were looking for a steakhouse to eat at. Repeal was recommended to us by one of the staff members at the Omni Hotel. When we arrived, there were no available reservations in the dining room, but we were able to sit at the bar (first come, first serve). First impression was how beautifully decorated the place is and the bar chairs were really comfortable! Our bartender and waitress, Alyssa, was personable and very friendly. I told her what type of liquor I liked and told her to surprise me with a drink and that's exactly what she did! (Three times! lol) The drinks she made were refreshing, I especially enjoyed the strawberry- basil margarita. Our 8 ounce filets were perfect and tasty. The whipped Yukon gold potatoes were amazing, just like something my grandmother would make! Nothing too frilly, just butter and salt, they tasted great. We also had the jumbo asparagus and the golden beets and apple salad (split). Everything was exceptional! Highly recommend and we look forward to going back!

Yelp
When travelling, we always like to go for at least one "fancy" dinner. We chose Repeal because the menu was appealing and they had gluten free options. (They were even able to substitute gluten free bread for the complimentary rolls served before the meal.) My sister had steak (8oz petite filet, king crab, asparagus, black truffle béarnaise) and I had Faroe Island salmon (wild rice, golden beets, arugula, citrus butter), and as sides we had roasted mushrooms (miso-ginger butter) and heirloom carrots (tahini yogurt, spicy seeds, red wine vinaigrette). We also had two drinks each -- cocktails for my sister and wine for me. While pricey ($225 before tip, but standard for a high end restaurant), everything was absolutely delicious, and worth the price. In addition to the delicious meal, the service was fantastic. The server, Michelle, was friendly and helpful, and when I was trying to select which wine to have, the server brought me a generous sample so that I could try it first. If you want to treat yourself to a fantastic meal, you will not be disappointed with Repeal. A well-deserved five out of five stars. Yelp
It's good, but I'm not sure it's worth the price tag. Steak itself is excellent, but the sides were uninspired. I would have loved to see more Napa wines in the menu. I actually thought the Caesar salad might have been my favorite part. And the service was impeccable.

Yelp
Long wait time between courses. When they did arrive they were cold. Veggie was burnt and way late. Steaks were not cooked to proper temperature.

Yelp
The food as always was awesome. The burgers are probably one of the best in the city. The issue I have is the wait staff are all for themselves. What I mean is my water was empty, I placed it on the edge , 2 waiters walked by me with water pitchers. But just for their tables. Had to wait for my waiter to get water. For the price I expect more

Yelp
This was on our list of places to eat for a long time. We finally went there to celebrate my wife's birthday, and it was well worth the wait! We started off with their East Coast oysters, which we only ordered four. I could've eaten more, but I'm glad I saved room for what was to come. Next, we ordered the refreshing heirloom tomato, and kept the seafood train going with scallops, which were excellent. Then, we finally ordered what we came for: steak. We kicked things up a notch and ordered their signature Repeal Style, which was one of the best steaks I've had in Louisville. The crab on top just enhanced the meal. I polished things off with their delightful Old Fashioned. It was an amazing meal, excellent atmosphere, and the bill wasn't even as steep as I thought. We'll be back!

Yelp
Totally make a reservation here!!! Dinner was so good we had to come back for lunch. Let me tell you Tim our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable- he was prompt with the cocktails and made sure our steak was cooked to our liking. There is a relaxed conservative vibe - and everyone is super friendly! I had the steak sandwich on baguette while my husband had the American Wague steak and fries- both were chef's KISS!!! If you're here this is a hands down MUST!!!!!

Yelp
Enjoyed an Old Fashioned whiskey drink. Went very well with my steak. The steak was cooked to perfection. I couldn't have been happier.

Yelp
Awesome food and atmosphere. Steak was cooked to perfection. Oysters were fresh. The bread is out of this world.

Yelp
Listen, first and foremost, Mikaela is the ninja of all servers in Louisville, she snuck spoons on the table between courses without us noticing and suggested portions of the meal that were all absolutely amazing. The wait staff all absolutely knocked it out of the park keeping our water full and never left anything to desire. On top of the wait staff the kitchen put on a show. We are from a foodie capital of the world " Las Vegas " and I would hands down put this kitchen and wait staff up against any of the dining experiences we have had in Vegas. The Ambiance of this amazing steakhouse has a speakeasy feel with a warm and comfortable feel. To the staff and GM thank you for an awesome experience and a memorable 40th birthday meal. Everything was absolutely on point and I would go out of my way to come back to Louisville and take this ride again.

Yelp
Repeal Oak-Fired Steakhouse is a must when in Louisville--sleek, modern, and built for steak lovers. The space has a clean, upscale feel with polished details and a contemporary edge. It strikes that perfect balance between elevated and approachable, making it just as good for a date night as it is for a celebratory dinner. The oak-fired steaks are the real deal--expertly cooked, bold in flavor, and plated with care. Every bite reminded me why this place is considered one of the best in the city. Now, full transparency: my very first Old Fashioned was here... and it wasn't great. A little too sweet, not quite balanced. But hey, it's Louisville--home of bourbon--so it wasn't hard to find redemption just a few blocks away. Despite the cocktail miss, Repeal delivered across the board with food, service, and atmosphere. Great wine list! The staff is polished and professional, and the whole experience feels curated without being stuffy. If you're in town and craving a standout steak in a modern, stylish setting, Repeal is absolutely worth your time.
