Bivouac de Gournier

I suggest if you do the 2 day Trip to sleep here. Toilets and showers are ok. Spiders are there but the light is on in the sanitary rooms so there is nothing they are able to do. They will not harm you. They have grill with free coal so bring meat. We slept on the Flor but you can also rent a tent. Please bringt a spray against insects. There are a LOT.

Arrived, no one there, walked for 10 minutes with all our gear. Finally got there and welcomed by a board saying they had showers and even drinks, but no, showers were closed all day and the following, bar was obviously closed too. The worker said he had had a long summer and basically told us we weren't going to have a shower. We needed a tent, went back and there was noone around so I ended up just taking one. Waste of time.

An animation about the natural reserve was organized during the evening (English and French available) and was interesting. You can freely use the grills if you wanna cook. The staff was kind. Anyway, I have to admit the land is at some places quiet steep (but it's ok) and I think 14€ is a bit expensive for a night in a Bivouac.

Basic but perfect after an afternoon paddle in 32 degrees. Cold shower, cold drinking water, ice to help keep food in barrel cool and a picnic bench to sit and eat your dinner.

Full comfort in the middle of the jungle. This place has it all: - Fresh water, cold showers and toilets - Fire place for BBQ with free charcoal - Area for tents - Wake up call for early morning canoeing​

Super expérience au bivouac de Gournier ! Nuitée dans une tente louée sur place, cadre naturel exceptionnel au cœur des gorges de l’Ardèche. Calme, authenticité et paysages magnifiques, je recommande vivement !

Première expérience sur 32 km en kayak, avec une halte pour la nuit au bivouac de Gournier. À l’arrivée, tout est bien expliqué : horaires, accès aux toilettes, aux douches, à l’accueil, etc. Cependant, l’absence totale de poubelles est surprenante. Malheureusement, certains voyageurs jettent leurs déchets n’importe où, ce qui est contraignant et irrespectueux. Les douches, quant à elles, étaient dans un état assez sale, avec de fortes odeurs d’urine. Il est étonnant que le nettoyage ne soit pas fait au karcher le matin ou la nuit, car des traces suspectes étaient bien visibles. De plus, il n’y a que de l’eau chaude, alors qu’avec les fortes chaleurs, de l’eau froide serait bien plus agréable. Notre tente était correcte, mais certaines autour étaient en mauvais état. L’idée de proposer des boissons le matin est appréciable, mais ce serait encore mieux avec quelques croissants ou autres petites douceurs.
