Bottom line: if you can get past some of the quirks in the service, you'll be fine. Also, stick to signature dishes and don't stray too far off the menu.
I ordered the minestrone soup, the rigatoni broccoli dish, and for desert , I ordered the apple pie with ice cream.
The minestrone has a clear watery vegetable base, and tasted like vegetable medley soup. In America , usually it's like a tomato bean base with a few noodles in it with veggies .
Wasn't the most memorable dish. Needed more salt and was kind of bland. 2/5
Italian rigatoni broccoli: came out cold. I actually told my waiter to heat it a bit more. He was not happy to here this news. I don't know if he was upset with me or his kitchen or both. But I do know upon realization, his humiliation manifested in how he shortly treated me thereafter .
Heated up , this dish was delicious. Gravy was on the richer side (might be vodka sauce variant) but this is the type of Italian food I can see as in the conversation in the best of for London.
4.5/5
Desert menu was brought to me. I was undecided, so I let my waiter know i required some more time.
He literally came back in about 20 seconds and sarcastically told me 'making progress'?
And it was with this comment that made me realize he was irritated or annoyed that I compelled him to remake the pasta dish. Yeah, how dare an American tell you to serve pasta hot instead of cold. Forgive me father for I have sinned.
The apple pie I ordered was very small. The crust was super soft like bread. It also was cold when it should be slightly heated. Wasn't my favorite thing, and for nearly 8 pounds, you should order another item off the desert menu.
2/5 stars
I'm giving this an overall score of 3/5 even though this place deserves 2/5 when you factor in how I was treated by the waiter after pointing out a flaw in my pasta dish .
