The service here was impeccable. As we walked in we were greeted by lovely staff, a chirpy chippy ‘Paul’ led us to our table by the window, which we were kindly offered with canal view. His knowledge of the menu was great. The food was beautifully served. And with a smile. I would highly recommend this place not only for the food but the hospitality from all the staff. The place is clean.

Very awesome fish&chips, they even offer gluten free options. The interor is simple and clean, the Fries are a bit soft but taste great! If you are in the area, can recommend!

I’m from Australia and had been on a road trip up from all around the UK with my girlfriend and when we came to Bizzie Lizzie’s in Skipton, we were instantly comfortable. Kim the waitress was the greatest waitress/waiter we had encountered on our entire trip. She had a lovely warm smile, kind eyes, a wonderful sense of humour and was very informative when it came to the beer menu. She did not shy away from friendly conversation, whilst remaining professional and courteous, and when we told her how wonderful she was, she was nothing but humble. The food was mighty satisfying, but if for no other reason, got to Bizzie Lizzie’s to meet Kim and give her a smile. She deserves it

What a wonderful place to enjoy lunch and a glass of wine. The restaurant overlooks the canal and it was lovely watching the narrowboats go past. The fish and chips were so 😋. Service was excellent and the staff were lovely and welcoming. Would definitely recommend. I will certainly eat here on my next visit

I loved it here. It had a simple interior with an old school touch. A perfect place for a very English sit down fish and chips. I had the battered sausage, well one battered and one not, both utterly delicious. The chips were great, soft and fatty. Whilst the curry sauce was yum. Be sure to order bread and butter and tea for the ultimate experience. They also have gluten free options, where fish, sausages etc can be battered in a gluten free batter. The service was fabulous, both friendly and efficient. Will be coming back when in Skipton again.

So I visited this chip shop when I brought my partner to skipton for an appointmentshe had ,whilst parking I seen the chip shop and thought il give it a try as I was a bit peckish , I bought a chip butty which was priced at just over £4 (a bit steep but thought I’m hungry it is what it is ) then I asked if they could make it a large which then took the bill to one £7.60 🫣🫣 but I said nothing and carried on , only to get all the way back to the car to find out I’d obviously been gave a child’s portion or maybes rations with the on going crisis 👀👀😳😳 I’ve never seen anything so ridiculous and overpriced in all my life …. I mean when you rob someone normally you wear a mask !! And to top it off some of the chips tastes half cooked 🫣🫣

It was nice to have lunch here again after so many years. The young staff were all great at their work. A nice size fish and plenty of chips, served up with Yorkshire Tea, nothing not to like!

Firstly the staff are really lovely and if you get a table by the window you have a nice view of the canal and basin. I had the large Haddock and Chips it comes with mushy peas and a round of bread and butter. The fish was very good and cooked perfectly as were the chips. I ordered Apple pie and custard for my dessert, and this was a let down the pie had been microwaved and made the pastry very soggy and parts of the pie was barely warm, and at £6.60 I expected better tbh. The whole meal cost me just over £26 which is on the pricey side, but for a major tourist town it was to be expected. Would I return ? Yes but I would steer clear of the rubbish and expensive dessert menu !

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while since I went veggie but back when I ate fish, Bizzie Lizzies was where it was at for me, the fish was always cooked perfectly and was always fresh, the chips were amazing, the service was good, occasionally a bit slow and the environment was always clean. There's a reason as to why it's always packed in the summer when tourists visit.

Yelp
Rather plain but good enough for fish and chips. No bar but some beer by the bottle. Very plain decor, simple furniture. No frills.

Yelp
Mixed opinions about this place, it's changed a lot since 2020 just like the Wooly Sheep Inn, most of our restaurants have changed chefs. But the chips used to be soft, hot and tasty but now they're hard, cold and taste like cardboard. My family and I went a few months ago and all of our chips were cold and hard, the steak was rock hard, the fish cake was sloppy and the service takes forever. Don't recommend anymore, used to love this place!!

Yelp
What can I say.... Wow!! Firstly I need to mention the staff of this establishment; they were more than attentive to our needs and made the whole experience something special. We were a party of 8, ageing from 1yrs old to 68, and every one of us left feeling stuffed and happy. The food was fantastic, even though the portions were enormous and every one of us ate till we almost burst. Nearly every tummy in the party had something different to cope with; from diabetics, coeliacs, dairy allergies, baby/ fussy young kid tummies and just the normals; yet we were all catered for and it was delicious. I could not recommend this restaurant enough. If I am ever in Skipton, North Yorkshire, again then Bizzie Lizzie's will be on my itinerary. I can say nothing more than this, YUM!

Yelp
We had a lovely fish supper here. They have a 'light' fish & chips which has a lighter batter and just half a portion of chips (which for me was still too many to finish). The fish melted in the mouth and being the lighter batter wasn't overwhelmed by heavier batter some chippies use. Accompanied by the obligatory pot of tea, and served by pleasant wait staff, it was a great meal.

Yelp
It's hard to produce perfect fish and chips and Bizzie Lizzie's fell ever so slightly short of the mark although portion size and price suited me very well. What really impressed me was the gluten free provision and more importantly, the knowledgeable staff who, unlike many purveyors of gluten free, had 'safe' vinegar clearly marked and to hand. Make no mistake, these were not the best fish and chips I've ever had but Bizzie Lizzie's are high on my list for a return visit.

Yelp
This might be Snoop's favorite chip shop - Bizzie Lizzie in the hizzy. Situated right on the canal in the quaint village of Skipton, this is a popular place to pop in for tea. There's a proper restaurant upstairs, but downstairs is a quick take-away, with a small seating area for those who would like to eat in. Don't let the fact that this lower restaurant looks like a fast-food joint deter you - the fact that they service a quick turnaround means that the fish and chips are always freshly fried. With a bit of salt and a dash of vinegar, Bizzie Lizzie's makes an excellent stop for lunch, especially with a hot cup of tea on a cold and blustery day. Sit downstairs by the big plate glass windows and warm up as you watch the water taxis cruise slowly by on the canal.

Yelp
The fish and chips here are very nice but locally I think you can get better at a more reasonable price. As it's main target group is tourists, the prices are pretty high. However, Bizzie Lizzies now have a bit of a monopoly on Fish and Chip restaurants in Skipton (as they have opened another restaurant called Bizzies and taken over the fish and chip shop on the bridge in to Skipton). If you go to Bizzie Lizzies on a sunny day I would suggest going to the Take Away counter and eating them sat by the Canal Side.

Yelp
Well known all over the Country due to winning Best Fish and Chip Shop/Restaurant etc several times. As a local this would not be my first choice as I personally think there are better value ones nearby. Having said that these are good if a little bit more expensive. A fast efficient counter service. Always extremely busy in the Summer months mostly with tourists Worth a visit and I don't think you will be disappointed. One downside not easy to park near and often a lot of overflowing bins.

Yelp
Really good fish and chips. Freshly cooked, with amazing batter on the cod, good chips and a proper cup of Yorkshire tea.

Yelp
Travelled from Wirral to Yorks today to visit my 92 year old father (Fathers Day tomorrow). My intention was to take him out for a pub lunch, but he asked to be taken to Bizzie Lizzies. He used to go there regularly with my mother until she left us in 2007. He hadnt been since. We arrived about 12 noon and it was already quite busy though we were able to have a table by the large window overlooking the canal. We just both ordered th standard fish and chips with mushy peas, tea bread and butter. Service was quite prompt and the waitress Olivia polite and attentive. However we had hardly got started on the meal when Dad announced, that it was no where near previous standard, and I had to concur. Batter was too thick which meant the inside of the batter was floury and uncooked. The size of the fish piece in the batter was really very small (much smaller than before Dad) Chips were lukewarm and had not been peeled properly , lots of eyes and skin on. Mushy peas nearly all liquid and few discernable peas Bread wasnt all that fresh. The tea was the best bit ! For this sort of quality, the price was very high. The owners of this place should take a trip to Bryans or Bretts in Headingley, or the small cafe at Maypole fisheries in Otley even Murgatroyds by Leeds/Bradford Airport is better . I accept these are some miles away, but good examples of excellent fish and chip cafes. This really was an abomination and we wont be going back !

Yelp
When I used to work in Skipton over 18 years ago Bizzie Lizzies had a name for itself then and it continues today. That's not a bad resume for a chip shop and it's gained this reputation by being consistantly great in all areas. We used to get their fabulous fish and chips every Friday and even their burgers were the best back then. I'm not sure if they still do burgers now but i do know their fish and chips take some beating. During the summer you can see many Skiptonian eating BL fish and chips and they now have a monopoly on fish and chips in Skipton with three restaurants.

Yelp
The fish and chips here have been raved about the country over and they are very good, but even in Skipton they are not the best avaliable. Westmoreland Street are cheaper and superior in most ways. The strongest feature of Bizzie's is the service, which is quick and polite, not surprising considering the amount of customers they recieve on an average day. Recommended for convenience but better avaliable at the price of 5 minutes walk.

Yelp
Always had excellent fish and chips and also the prawn salad with chips is beautifully presented and very good. For pud I'd recommend the raspberry dream which is a meringue broken up into a sundae glass with raspberries, ice cream and topped with whipped cream. Delicious. Unfortunately on our last visit the service was very poor, considering that the place was three quarters empty, and although we tried to attract the waitress's eye to order a pud we got fed up with waiting so didn't bother. Shame as we visit often and would otherwise give it five stars.

Yelp
I've eaten in both the restaurant and had takeaways from downstairs since I was at college that's 20 years. The service has always been great and the staff are always polite and well presented. The fish and chips are cracking too!!!
