5 stars is not enough. Seriously. The service was amazing. Interesting and unusual looking menu was explained. They make their own wine. The food.. delicious. Probably the best dining/food experience so far in my life. We enjoyed every single bite. Only bad thing was that we did not come hungry enough to do the 4 course dinner 😁 so we had just mains and one desssert. If you have a time, don't eat at least half day and come to this place to enjoy the vibe, service and food. You have to try everything :) it's better to make a reservation.

Overall excellent food and service. Some dishes had a bit too much sweetness, but this is subjective (e.g. Sweet potato with apple cinnamon sauce). The smoked lamb was very tasty.

This is a fantastic restaurant located near Kirkjufell, offering Icelandic cuisine and spectacular view. The building itself was originally built in 1908, and was transported to the current location, so you can get a glimpse of the historic life in Iceland. The food was excellent, especially the dessert. Service was attentive and friendly. We didn't have a reservation and walked in around 6 PM on a summer day and there was no room for us. We returned around 7:30 PM and got a table, so reservation is highly recommended.

I love everything about this restaurant! The history, the design, the decoration, the location, the staff, the menu and of course the food! Down to every last detail! I appreciate old classic china which they have a mix of, I saw furniture like my great grandmother had. The menu is not overwhelming and tastefully put together. We had the Scallops, the Silungur and catch of the day which was Rauðspretta. An adventure for the tastebuds truly! For desert we had the Skyr. Michelin quality food! With the best view of Kirkjufell. Staff very professional and friendly and quick on point service. I will only eat there when I visit Grundarfjörður.

The best dinner we had during our trip! The food was amazing and the waiter very friendly and helpful, it was no problem to eat there with lactose intolerance. A reservation is definitely needed!

Amazing place on the edge of the world! We stopped in after our visit to Kirkjufell. This has to be one of the best dinners of my life, and my partner will agree. We took the 8 course innovation tasting menu, and I would highly recommend doing this. You'll get a wonderful sampling of the food, along with a spritz drink. The service was warm, you felt like you were dining at a friends house, exactly the way you want to dine. The view out of the window of Kirkjufell was spectacular, and we got a peek at the upstairs of the old home! What an amazing experience. Thank you!

Can't speak more highly of this place. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. I can't speak more highly of their food as other reviews are saying. I will leave by saying each bite is an experience and a savory delight. I can say the the best restaurant I have eaten in at in Iceland. You don't want to skip this place. Be sure to make a reservation otherwise you could be disappointed about the wait or not getting a seat when you are hungry.

What a gem. Service was top notch. They have daily specials for both food and drink. They definitely use Icelandic flavors and ingredients in an innovative way. Everything we had was delicious. Space was very quaint and there is a beautiful view of the water.
