BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

We went to BJ’s for a date night and had such a great experience. Even though it was very busy, we were seated right away. Our waitress was absolutely amazing, so attentive and genuinely friendly, which made the night even better. The drinks were delicious, especially the Dubai Chocolate Martini, so good. My favorite dish was the Honey Sriracha Brussels Sprouts appetizer. Everything was on point and we’ll definitely be back.

This places atmosphere is really neat. The lighting and ambiance at night coupled with the decor was really well thought out. Our service from entrance to departure was excellent and despite it being busy there was very little wait, plenty of seating including outdoor patios. I really liked the way the place felt which makes it harder then for me to talk about the food. I wanted the meal to be great or at least good but it just felt middling which was disappointing. The prices weren't bad but I was hoping for something more taste wise. There were a few flourishes in regard to the plating presentation but all around I can't rank it very high. What I will say is I didn't get an alcoholic beverage and that's a big part of what they do. I also didn't get a dessert though others in my party did and really enjoyed it. The mozzarella sticks were good and the dip for them was honestly one of the best I've ever had. In general however I like good food and this menu as diverse as I tried to sample just wasn't it for me.

They have a pretty large menu so you should find something for everyone here. But it’s low quality chain restaurant food with average service but priced high. We had a positive interaction being seated. After that things were just okay and nothing to rave about. Waited a little long to even be acknowledged. The server had a few large groups. Although it’s not too difficult to even say “I’ll be with you in a moment” or have someone else in the restaurant at least bring water to the table. We tried the mozzarella sticks (tasted frozen and warm, not hot), also I tried the $19 Thursday special of sirloin steak with two sides and a dessert cookie. We also had the spicy chicken sandwich with fries and a side of onion rings. Do not order any of these items. I’ve done the work for you. I had a side salad with my dinner as a choice for my side. It was drowning in dressing. The sirloin steak was tough and it was a strange cut of meat. The roasted veggies as my other side were overcooked and did not taste fresh. The spicy chicken sandwich was equivalent to mcdonald’s, but the sauces were way too spicy and no explanation was given as to what they were. The fries were just okay. But the six onion rings we received were tough and chewy and terrible. Being diabetic I couldn’t eat the dessert but was bringing it home to someone else. I think that may have been the only positive food item we had. If I came here again it would be to try the brews at the bar for a game or meeting friends. Not for dinner.

Stopped for dinner passing through on vacation. Very awesome atmosphere & friendly service! Food was good, but wasn’t over the top, but wasn’t bad. If you want a lively restaurant with casual bar area, steakhouse theme..not a bad option at all!

It's alright...Definitely not worth the 150 for 2 people. Ambiance is alright. Decor looks plain but thats ok. The food was a C+ maybe at B at best. I ordered the same thing i would at LongHorn and id still pick LongHorn over BJs

I’ve eaten here a couple times but tonight was by far the best. I came here with my husband and parents; Aaron was our server and he was so great and absolutely hilarious. The butterfinger pizookie was also incredible, I’m literally going to see it in my dreams. Thank you for such a fun night and great food!

Food was amazing, I had wings and pizza, so good. Not to loud in there waitstaff could have been more attentive, we only saw our waitress 3 times the whole visit. When she sat us, when we ordered and when she brought the bill. The food runner brought me more water.

Food was good. Wings were excellent. Got the steak and chicken with roasted vegetables. The vegetables were just cauliflower and mushrooms which was odd but tolerable. Avacodo eggrolls were a surprise hit. The Nashville boneless were good. The beer was tasty and refreshing. The pizookies in my opinion were too sweet but all in all good spot.

Awesome service right from walking in the door! Great food, cold beer, and a great waitress Samantha! What's not to love! Definitely will be back, and Soon!!! Thank you for a great experience!!

Because BJ's is close to home I keep going back hoping for a better experience. After 6 times in the past 2 years, its been disappointing. The two stars I've given are for the wonderful beer selections, both their own brews and the assortment of others. The food is "ok" the staff although friendly, are slow as death with absolutely no sense of urgency whatsoever. It hasn't been just MY service, but as I sit and wait for my food and/or bar order you can clearly watch the other servers and staff. At best they "mosey" as tgey go about their service. Even when the restaurant is relatively empty, the service is slow at best. I believe in tipping well for good, or great service. So to be honest I feel bad tipping poorly. My example, my most recent check came to just over $63 before tax. Usually I would tip $17-20 for good service. I left $12 because the service I received did NOT warrant $10. This in my opinion this is a management issue. When management is nowhere to be found in the dining area to coach & mentor staff, the result is you get what you get. I will not be going back there again, no matter how close they are, 6 strikes is enough..

I'll say the best thing we had was the pizookie! It was so delicious. The drinks were good! My mom didn't like her margarita but everyone else was satisfied. We also ordered a spinach dip and we're not the biggest fan of it. Overall service was good and attentive. Would i come back for food? No, but a drink and cookie will do.

Today was my first visit - myself, my daughter, and granddaughter enjoyed a fantastic lunch today. The customer service from the time we walked through the door was fantastic. I specifically want to acknowledge our server Stephanie. Her friendliness and attention to detail was outstanding!!! Also, The decor of the restaurant is great and the music playing was!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely disgusting experience. I ordered a hamburger and it came out pink as hell in the middle, like straight-up raw. Looked like they just waved it over the grill and sent it out. That's not rare, that's unsafe and nasty. I couldn't even finish it because I didn't feel like gambling with food poisoning. Then I go to the bathroom, and it was even worse. There was literally a puddle of piss under the urinal, like somebody just dumped a bucket of piss and left it sitting there. The whole place reeked. It looked like no one had cleaned it in forever. I can't believe a restaurant with "brew house" in the name would think it's acceptable to serve raw food AND have bathrooms that disgusting. I don't care how good the atmosphere or drinks are supposed to be, if the kitchen is sending out raw meat and the bathrooms are a piss bucket, that tells you everything about how they run this place. Absolutely gross. Never again.

So... went back again at a friend's request. The service could've been better. She overcharged BOTH of our meals and we had to request refills more than once. The food was fine. The parking situation is the same - plenty. Would I go back? NOT at my own request but, again, I would if a friend wanted.

Savannah was wonderful and We had a great dinner (avocado rolls as an appetizer, a Santa Fe Salad and a Protein Bowl with shrimp), as well. Savannah was friendly, fun and truly kind. We will return!

Go to restaurant in Merrillville and food is good. Get take out or door dash and I wouldn't give it To my local raccoon population. Sliders- burnt no ketchup or onions-just plain Soup tasted like vomit Missing item that was ordered Again, go to the restaurant it's good if you do DoorDash eat at your own risk

Food was really mediocre, my wife's burger, the smash burger and it looked like a slider party. My six dollar side of fries was smaller than a small at McDonald's. Not impressed, we were going to buy the gift card but stopped because we won't be back for a while. Did you change your fries?

Very friendly staff, great deals, meals have been consistently good. Management is on point. Mgmt Presence, including table touching on every visit which is impressive since it's been later in the evening every time.

Had another great meal at BJ's. Love the extensive menu... there's always a good option. Food is always fresh and well prepared. Great in-house brewed beer as well. The pleasant wait staff and reasonable prices makes for a great dinner out with the family.

This place is trash with trash employees. Bartender was on drugs, kept disappearing for 20 minute at a time. We were literally her only customers yet she could not remember our order. After the second time it came out wrong, she swore everything would be fine. The veggie burger has cheese in it... that's right the burger that she swore is vegan has cheese in it. Been to many BJs but this one is the worst, no wonder it was empty on a Saturday night. Horrible

I like this chain but as soon as i walked in the hostess didn't even acknowledge me. I went and sat at the bar to order a drink and dinner. And sat and sat and nothing. Typical scenario, overworked and understaffed with poor training. Only one person behind the bar and didn't reach out to say she would get to me. Another waitress walked by without a word. I would have stuck around if anyone had said Hi, welcome to BJs, we'll be right with you. Pretty simple customer service etiquette. I left and went to Mission BBQ for the best brisket sandwich ever. Management needs to do a better job of training.

Didn't have cream soda, didn't give me a menu and kept asking what I wanted, and most of all made me change table multiple times. step it up bjs I expect better

Okay first to start is with the food. It is so delicious and the wings are so moist when I tried them. I got the New house Bite Sampler and let me tell you. Best wings ever and I am definitely coming back because the chips were really good and crunchy and the slider were nice and perfectly savory and rich in flavor. Next is the spooky pazookie which was rich in delicacy. The ice cream mixed with the hot soft cookie toasts up my mouth with the moist cookie. The service was amazing . It was fast and it was amazingly good. It went by super fast and are waitress was so nice and friendly. Lastly the ambiance was so old timey and looked so beautiful. So coming again!

Straight trash, to expensive for the quality of food u get. Nothing I had tasted good, but it might be what I ordered. The place looks good but I had better food in my jr high cafeteria. Service was just average, nothing good or bad

Amazing New England clam chowder. We followed it up with authentic fish and chips. Beer battered and more than two people could finish. Excellent drinks, wonderful atmosphere.

Currently waiting at the 45 minute mark of order a couple cheeseburger. Super slow, It's not busy, we came into restaurant at 2:15 pm on Saturday 8/3/2024. Server is nice and checked on us once during this time. It's 3:10 now. UGH NOT RETURNING Place is 2/3rds empty. Guest services, thank you for the surprising quick response, but I will not return as we live over a hour away. We were looking for a nice place to eat and it's very nice inside. Server said there was three new cooks working, I understand perhaps slower service in that situation but that's poor management to schedule like that. But the odd thing was both tables next to us received their burgers before we did and we were there roughly 10 minutes before them. Wish I could have responded privately, but that wasn't available.

Coincidentally this was my second time at a BJs in a couple days. The previous visit (a different location) I had considered the Chicken peanut Thai noodles but chickened out because it would definitely be branching out for me. This time our very friendly bartender described them to me and told me they were one of his favorites on the menu. So I said, Let's go for it!! OMGEEE! It was so absolutely delicious!! The chicken was very tender and not dry, it was nice and spicy and very flavorful without being overwhelming. I definitely recommend the bar at BJs and the Spicy Chicken Peanut noodles!

BJ's is a great place for lunch or dinner any time the food is delicious they also have a big beer n wine selection service is very good and we like the lively Atmosphere

First time here. Reminds you of how Chili's first started out but alittle but more up scale. Tons of seating and a large menu. So many choices it was intimidating. Decided on the deep dish nachos with chili and it was very good. Tried the ice cream dessert special and it really didn't look like the picture but holy s#*t, it was amazing. Only down side is they advertised their pumpkin beer but didn't have any left. But their beer selection is huge. Definitely coming back. I think it would it would be a date night or a laid back family dinner.

Wow. Where do I start? One of the worst service experiences I have ever had. Forgot my drink. Forgot my side. Forgot my to go order. Went to BJ's because of the consistency. Definitely not consistent anymore. Won't be back. If there was zero stars, I would leave it..

Tonight we had an early dinner at BJ's to celebrate a birthday. We were greeted by a hostess and seated promptly. Our server, Jessica, was informative and attentive and did not rush our table yet met our needs throughout the experience. Our appetizer was hot and fresh. Salads were crisp and tasty. He and I both had prime rib cooked medium rare to perfection with well seasoned sides. Our guest had the top sirloin cooked medium to perfection. Of course we wrapped up our meals with pizzouki's! Wonderful night celebration!

My friend and I went out for lunch and chose to sit on the pleasant patio, which had mounted TVs. I ordered the AHI poke appetizer, which was delightful-light, refreshing, and served with chips that I really enjoyed. My friend opted for chicken salad, but found it a bit, lacking in toppings and had to ask for extra dressing. Our waiter did an excellent job gauging when to return to check on us.

I've eaten here every time I'm in town. It's always been good , yet this time I ordered a wedge salad and was very disappointed. It was a nice size of wedge lettuce yet the bacon, onion, blue cheese crumbs, and tomatoes were sparse.

Came here last Saturday for dinner around 9:30pm. The wait was like 30 minutes, even though once seating, all the tables in house weren't even full. So I'm thinking short staffed. Once we ordered our food, it took over 45 mins for our food to arrive. The table next to us had not received their dinner either. Plates of food were coming out the kitchen so slow. Once the food actually came, we were only half way pleased. The burger meat was UNDERWHELMINGLY BLAND! Not even a pinch of salt. Same for the meatballs in the spaghetti. Just so TASTELESS MEAT. The kids mac and cheese was over cooked noodles and sticky cheese from the kraft box that we immediately returned. The only thing that seemed to be edible with flavor was the soup, and my Italiano Vegetable Penne pasta. Definitely not an impressive experience at this location

I hate it when because I'm just one person they shuffle me to the bar rather than a booth or table. They weren't that busy. OK I sit at the bar and they want ID. I'm 70. My ID was in my car. Not worth the trouble. Everyone cheerfully telling me to have a nice day - yup, they ruined mine.

The best place around if you're looking for good quality food and a mellow bar to have dinner/watch the game after a long day. The atmosphere and service are always positive and on point. Bartenders Hailey and Ari are amazing and seem to always be on their A-game. And never let a drink go dry, or anyone finish their meal without checking on them a few times. I'd be lying to myself if I gave anything less than 5 stars. BJ's is a must stop spot if you're passing thru Merrillville. You won't regret it

Not kid friendly but the waiter was mid and the food was mid i kinda like the food it take a long time to get your food.

Probably 3-1/2 stars. Kind of mixed. Love the menu and variety. Nice protected outdoor area. Were there 1:15 on Tuesday. Food was good and the value was there. But very choppy service for a 25% full place. Seemed to have plenty of staff. Hard to say whether it was the server or the kitchen so I did not penalize her tip. My guess it that it was the kitchen since the server actually noticed the pizza was missing mushrooms as soon as she set it down. The side salad never came and there was a strangely long wait to get sweetener. But everyone was super friendly and they made the pizza right. My friends have been there multiple times and were surprised as they never had an issue before. I would definitely give it another try.

Excellent service by Jonathan our server. I like that they have flavored iced teas and lemonades. I had the berry tea and it was refreshing. My boyfriend had the strawberry lemonade and it was very intense. Intense as in sour and sugary. I had the classic chicken sandwich. It was delicious. My boyfriend had the boneless wings. They have interesting flavors for their sauces. They have a large menu. Plenty of beer and non-alcoholic drink options. I would return if in the area.

Both of these chicken parm dinners were delicious. I had the one with veggies, hubby had the spaghetti. Loved it. We also had the soft pretzel and beer cheese for an appetizer but we ate it before I thought to get a picture. The beer cheese has a spicy kick to it, but I like spice so I loved it.

We were seated right away at 7:15 on a Saturday night so didn't think it would be bad. Ordered and got our drinks pretty quickly. Then we waited and waited an after 45 minutes my side salad came out. 20 minutes later we got our entrees. My chicken avocado sandwich bread was burnt and inedible. My spouse's burger looked like a lump of charcoal. And avocado on my sandwich could have still been hanging on the tree it was so stiff. We were traveling on vacation and looking to try new restaurants and won't be back. After trying to get a staff persons attention for well over 5 minutes, they took our meals off our bill and we ended up paying $9.00 for one fountain soda each that we were never offered a refill on.

My family and I went to BJ's for my birthday dinner. The place is super nice and spacious, we sat at one of the booths. We ordered the mozzarella stick app and everyone seemed to enjoy them. I ordered the Filet Mignon with Garlic Roasted veggies and White Cheddar mash potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection BUT they over seasoned it so it was way to salty and had a lot of pepper. The veggies were rock hard but the potatoes were delightful. My husband ordered the Full Rack of baby back ribs with the same side as I ordered. The ribs did fall of the bone but were super dry. I have the margarita flight and the Peach Boba was my favorite. It was a nice time, the server was great, atmosphere was inviting but unfortunately I would not go back due to food preparation and cost.

Location is convenient and relatively easy to find for non locals.Food was very good and menu had many selections - something for everyone. Parmesan chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli was very tasty. Chicken was moist and broccoli was not over cooked. Other diners had roasted salmon, Mahi Mahi tacos and vegetable pasta. Everyone seemed pleased with their choices. Waiter was accommodating for extras to our group who were late. Tables were a bit close but worked out ok. Restaurant was very full and noise level a bit more than I prefer. Recommend based on versatility in the menu and pleasant wait staff both at hostess and waiter. Didn't push back on separate checks - yeah!

Ordered 3 deep dish pizzas. No ingredients in the deep dish was all dough. Two were pepperoni- not even a slice of pepperoni on each slice. Will NOT be ordering their pizza again.

The interior of this place is huge--a lot of seating from booths, tables, bar section and outdoor patio. With that being said... every single time I've visited I have had to wait 15-45 minutes. So just prepare for that. The menu has typical restaurant items, but BETTER quality than just TGI Friday's or Chili's. Fairly decent selection for beverages. Unfortunately, it's hit or miss for how clean a table may be. 2/4 times I've visited, I've had to ask a staff member to clean it "again". Down to the nitty gritty: I've tried the steak, it's excellent. Their chicken is great too. Appetizers can't really go wrong. Considering the price and the quality--the portions are reasonable. Their food isn't greasy or soggy. Flavors are definitely there.

Great service, the staff were all very friendly and even though they were short staffed, our waitress was very attentive and made sure our drinks were never empty! The food was so good. We ordered the loaded nachos with the chili and it's a must have. Huge portion loaded with melted cheese, fresh toppings and topped with guacamole and sour cream. The brew house blonde beer is my favorite. If you like a slight IPA taste but not too bitter, this is a great one to try. We finished our dinner with the pizookie. And omg...heaven. Soo good, baked fresh and topped with two huge scoops of vanilla bean icecream **Download the BJ's app and you get a free pizookie as your welcome offer. Then you will get points and each 100 points gets your $10 off your next visit.

I've been to this BJs a few times. Overall the food is good and the service is ok. I like the bar setup and I like that they are open late.

The service was great. The food was horrible. I ordered the Calaformia Chicken club. It came with raw bacon, no avacado is what makes it a California club. The bread was soggy and not grilled as described. It was not 1 piece of chicken but 4 little pieces of cut up chicken per side. The manager came over & I said I didn't realize it was going to be just a few cut up pieces of chicken which makes it impossible to eat as the little pieces of chicken fall out as soon as you pick it up. He shrugged it off with a chuckle by saying yes sliced & diced.!! Very unacceptable!! Don't waste your money!! I wish there was an option for 1/2 a star!! I will never return. We went here for my son's 18th birthday which completely ruined by this horrible experience. I don't know if I've vet seen a more unappetizing sandwich in my life. Also, it came with exactly 12 French fries. A giant rip off!! I will never go back here again!!! Beware.

Great food with the deep dish pizza and of course the pizookies amazing. Also want to shout a great group of amazing bartenders that were spot on in service and made the experience awesome. Shout out to Aricelys, Sarah, and Alexis.

I just had the best service from Ariceles and Sarah. Great customer service, short wait time and excellent food and drinks. This is a mind blowingly awesome first time experience!!!

The food was mediocre at best. The pretzel appetizer was dry, Ben's Pretzels are better. The steak and ribs : sirloin was chewy and ribs dry. The waitress was very good and attentive. I guess this isn't a steak and rib place

Milos was amazing! He was extremely attentive and handled the crowd with easy during lunch rush at the bar! First time at BJ's and will definitely be back due to our great experience!
