This spot is in a super vibrant area of Oslo, and I heard they host live music concerts every Sunday from 4 PM to 3 AM. how cool is that? I loved the energy, the vibe, and the whole experience. Definitely planning to come back again!

Kinda alternative to a common party place...High energy vibe and loved every bit I was there. Grafitty on another level. Rustic off the charts style. Lovely people behind the bar and chilling by the neighbours table

Great venue with loads of exciting events! Been here regularly for the free concerts on Sundays, as well as on the 17th of May. Loved it every time!

I’ve been here many times! Amazing staff, nice beer, okay Pizza and cool concerts. I would suggest to change the afternoon dj, really sucks. All sounds like whale noises. 🐋 Really recommend this place.

I thought it would be better. A grungy setting next to Canal, which could be a mixed bag and this time lean towards the negative. This is based on a Sunday afternoon visit with free music on the terrace. It was very crowded, which would be fine but some of the locals acted like they own the place and we’re a bit pushy. Also, the music was average. What they don’t tell on the website is it’s also karaoke And most of what I heard wasn’t that special. If you visit Sunday, maybe go earlier to stake out a table. Even if I had a table in this instance, I don’t think I would’ve stayed long because of the music. It was old time jazz, and a crowd leaning towards that age as well. They also have paid concerts which might be better. I normally like seats, but in this case, maybe no tables and seats would be a more egalitarian environment.

It’s a small, cozy, and pleasant club. I can highly recommend this location for a night out – the atmosphere really completes the experience.

BLÅ is an iconic music venue in Oslo with an incredible atmosphere. It’s located by the river, making it a great spot to enjoy both live music and the views. The venue often hosts a wide range of events, from jazz and indie to electronic music, offering something for every music lover. The staff are friendly, and the space has a relaxed, yet energetic vibe. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy good music and a lively crowd in Oslo, BLÅ is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Nice place for a late afternoon drink stretching into the early evening. Large selection of beers, but they were out of ingredients to make cocktails which was less than ideal in my book. Kind of a hip place with cool grungy vibes. Lots of people sitting outside. Drinks fairly reasonably priced. Enjoyed the fact that it's so close to the river. Order drinks at the bar and take them to your table.

Yelp
For atmosphere and beer, one of my favorite stops in Oslo. Whether it is a DJ or live music, you will have a good time here. Bring a friend, or two. The outdoor patio is the best when the weather is nice.

Yelp
Super nice bar!! The location is great, it is a great start or end for a walk next to the river. We had some sweet potato chips that we finished quite quickly. Even though i'm not a great reggae fan, the music was not annoying. The bartender was so nice to make me an non alcoholic cocktail, which was probably the cheapest cocktail you'll find in Oslo. Would certainly go back to check out the concerts!

Yelp
This is a review of the Sunday party at Bla (from the perspective of a tourist). First, out of all of the Scandinavian cities I visited (Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo), Oslo definitely seemed the rowdiest (in a good way). The Norwegians know how to have a good time, and they are well acquainted with beverages. Bars were really boisterous and fun, and when the 3 am close happened, everyone was out on the street eating kebabs and 7-11 hot dogs smothered in mayo (seriously, everyone, even the fashion killers in five inch heels). So it makes sense that the atmosphere at Bla on Sunday followed suit. You walk into a large outdoor area next to a canal. There are picnic tables and chairs everywhere. There is a ping pong table in the back. There is a large bar, as well as a grill serving up tasty looking burgers. And there are a lot of people drinking and having a good time. Pretty cosmopolitan, fair number of English / Spanish / Portuguese / German speakers in the house. Reminded me of a European version of Zeitgeist (San Francisco knows what I'm talking about). The outdoor area is adjacent to a warehouse space. When you walk into the space, you step into a foyer, with restrooms to the left and a lounge to the front (nothing special). To the right, there is a large hall where the band plays. When I saw reviews of a twenty piece band, I had visions of Glenn Miller or Brian Setzer Orchestra in my head (this made me nervous). In reality, the band played mostly rockabilly, surf rock, ska, and reggae (this made me happy). They did a great ska rendition of Dead Kennedy's Too Drunk to Fuck. The band stops around 11 pm or so, and then a DJ takes over and spins old Motown and soul records, which is really awesome. Reminded me of parties at the Hideout (Chicago knows what I'm talking about). We got there at 8 pm with no line at all. There were a ton of people inside and out. There is definitely a crew of day drinkers who pick up and leave at night, and there is definitely a crew that comes at night. The line looked like it started around 10 or 11 and was constant through pretty much close, around the building. So get there early and drink those $11 beers. For $13, you can get a can of Ska's Modus Hoperandi. Because, ya know, themes. In short: awesome Sunday fun day. Especially in the summer.

Yelp
Sundays on Blå is an institution. Period. Frank Znort Band will make you dance your ass off and smile your sorrows away. Situated by the river - next door neighbor with an art school which students have decorated the alley - there is something about Blå that creates a welcome breathing space. I would almost say that it feels very "un-Scandinavian" ;) Except from the Sundays I've been to a a few other events on Blå. The dance floor is always alive and the mingling is nice in the outdoor area. On bigger events there can be a long line, so make sure to come early or buy your ticket in advance.

Yelp
Awesome sundays at blå. If you have never been you need to go there. It's an amazing opportunity to dance and let go! And it's quite early so you can be home for bedtime before a new week starts. And what am I talking about? Every Sunday there is a concert from a band called Frank Znort. They have approx. 20 people in the band playing different instruments and taking turns in singing. It's really amazing atmosphere. On regular days they have events with different djs. They also have concerts and markets etc. You just need to check the program. Blå is a bit more underground and this is what i like about it. It's not a very big venue but it's big enough for a good vibe. If in Oslo try at least the Sunday!

Yelp
I feel a little bit guilty writing this as in some ways I can see what they were trying to do, but I genuinely really did not like it at all. We went on the hunt for a cool busy bar/venue to go to on a Sunday night and this place came up on Yelp. We got there and at first glance it seemed to fit the bill. Quite a big warehouse feel with a massive crowd, a band playing and loads of people. We grabbed drinks and a seat and started to people watch. I quickly realised I felt like I had been thrown back to the 80's. It was a busy crowd, but had a strange atmosphere. It was more like a club than a pub. Imagine a scene from the film the commitments, it was like that but minus any of the soul. Just a big dark warehouse with loads of people milling around. All in a bizarre place that just seems to be missing ...... That vital spark. Drinks were the usual Oslo pricing to. My advice. Go to taxi takeaway instead.

Yelp
Great place to dance. A lot of concerts and other cultural input! The only drawback is that it cost 100 NOK to get in.

Yelp
Great summer place! Especially on sundays when it's sunny Love the location, beautiful by the river. Good mix of locals. Down to earth place. Normal selection of beers and simple food available.

Yelp
This place isn't your momma's riverside cafe. If you look up eclectic in the dictionary, you might see a picture of Blå. From the nice riverside patio that blends surprisingly well with the graffiti art on the outside walls, to the dark areas inside that play host to party crowds and bingo crowds a like, Blå has something for everyone. Beer is a bit cheaper here than in many Oslo spots, but stick with beer - the non-alcoholic drinks are around the same price. Bartenders are quick and friendly, and the place attracts a diverse crowd of young professionals, students, and apparently even an American bachelor party. The music, at least last nice was awesome. Any place that plays 1990s hip hop gets a smile, head nod, and or fist bump from me.

Yelp
One bar tender at the small bar (short wavy hair and small tattoo) was yelling at my friend and I. I know it is a more rugged-vibe bar but this sort of service and treatment was unsettling and we do not find this a place we would return.

Yelp
My first beer in Oslo and was a deal at "only" 81 NOR Krone ($10 USD). Found this place using an old NYT 36 Hours in Oslo piece from a few years ago. I stopped in for a beer, people watching, and art/craft viewing. Lots of hipsters and artists. I was bummed I couldn't stay for the music--other yelp reviews have more to say on this topic. Def come here. Lots of outdoor seating by the river. Life is good at Bla!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday night and was not disappointed! Awesome hipster scene with beautiful Scandinavians. There is a pretty area outside to drink, and the band inside played awesome swing music. Dance music then went on into the night, until 3 am. Definitely check this place out if you are in Oslo.

Yelp
place to be on sunday evening for happy crazy funky music with the awesome band!

Yelp
Blå is one of those places you shouldn't miss if you're in Oslo. Sunday night jazz is legendary and the line goes around the building. It is really crowded inside, so don't expect to sit down unless you get there really early.
