The last couple of times we've been to Culebra we've been unable to make it back here. Finally, we got a chance. We came early on Saturday. We arrived shortly before 8. They were only serving coffee and pastries. At 8 they'd start with breakfast. The reason was they were prepping. I had a latte and my wife a cappuccino while we waited. We sat outside. They made some changes for the better. The interior is smaller but they added more tables outside. And instead of having the outdoor seating in front of the restaurant, it is on the side. They also added some swings and now the exterior has a roof. I like these changes. I really liked what they did with the bike and cinder blocks and all the plants.
For breakfast, I went with the breakfast tacos. The order comes with two tacos and a side of salsa verde. The tacos were very good. The scrambled eggs were perfects. I would have liked the salsa to provide a nice little kick to it, but I didn't find it spicy. Still, I would order the breakfast tacos again. My wife had the avocado toast and my son had the French toast. Of course, they were tasty. The guac on the avocado toast was very good, fresh. To top it all off, the service was friendly. Ariel, one of the owners, approached each table to chat with customers. Nice guy.
It took us a while to return, but I was reminded of why this is not only Culebra's best breakfast joint, but also one of Culebra's best restaurants.
