Black 5 Florence Suite

Perfect location, perfect room! The room is surprising very sound proof, so you can't hear he street noise at all, which is perfect if you're a light sleeper. The room is in a perfect location to everything you could possibly see and places to eat and drink. The room is clean and comfortable with a very nice bed - perfect nights sleep after a long travel day! Thank you for a lovely holiday stay.

In a brilliantly central location and clean. Aside from that, definitely wouldn't recommend or stay again. The reception is unmanned, so there was no one around to assist us with issues that we had. Nor could we contact anyone via messages. The AC Remote Control was taken out of the room and so was incredibly stuffy and hot all night. We were given no WiFi information and had no phone signal so couldn't use the Internet or phone. The main shower had been disconnected, so we had to prop the handheld one up and use that (we were not informed of this prior). There was a nail sticking out of the wall by the door that could have easily injured someone had they not noticed it. The skirting boards are coming away from the wall and the decor generally needs updating. Overall, definitely not a 4 star experience and we left pretty disappointed with what we got for what we paid.

Location is the only good thing about this hotel. It’s kinda hidden so finding it the first time is difficult- have to press a buzzer to get in then up 2 flights- no elevator. Then a key needed to get into the hotel then another for your room. The hotel has a theater on the other side of the building that had a concert one night our room was shaking with how loud it got, beds are awful so hard, walls paper thin, room was only tended to 1 out of 5 days. Regardless what any websites say you do not get breakfast- it’s hard to even see anyone working in this place. This is a 2 star hotel that needs to upgrade itself.

The best thing about this place is the location. Not easy to get to your room, up two old sets of stairs. Room has been updated nicely but the bathroom and shower needs improvements. Toilet seat lose from day one and not fixed. No place for soap and shampoo in the shower. Can't open the windows, no screens and the mosquitoes came in every night. This is not a B&B as it says on the website. No breakfast and no airport shuttle. The bed was nice.

I couldn't travel because of an very important health issue and they have accepted exceptionnaly not to charge my credit card even if my reservation was not cancellable. I have really appreciate your help on that. Be sure that I will stay at your place next time I come to Florence. Many thanks again for your help, Agathe

A great B&B to stay at in Florence. It is very centrally located. Very nice and clean rooms. Easy to get in touch with staff when needed, as it is a B&B the reception has limited opening hours. We will absolutely return to this great place!

Loooovvvvveeeedddd Black 5!!!||||When we arrived, we were greeted by Gianluca, a friend of the owner covering while they took a family break. Gianluca was an absolute delight, and a new friend for sure.||He was so incredibly cordial, thorough, engaging, and helpful. In fact, after our check-in, we had lunch together at his favorite local place. Wonderful.||||We got the Venezia room that faces out the front of the building, an old theater, and could not have been happier. The room was huge, comfortable, very nicely appointed, and had a lovely balcony to enjoy morning coffee on. We had just come from a sub par experience in Rome, so this was so welcoming. The bed was firm, but we like that, the AC unit worked very efficiently, and the updated door/windows blocked any outside noise perfectly. The street can be quite busy at certain times of day or certain nights, but that was no issue, at all. Only issue was one of the bedside table reading lamps did not work, and was never fixed or replaced. For this visit, not much of an issue, but should have been remedied. Also, you must walk up stairs to the hotel, so for anyone with heavy luggage, or with any restrictions, that could be an issue. For us, it was no problem.||||One surprise was that the included breakfast was not at the hotel, but rather a 10 minute easy walk to the Piazza della Signoria. There were only a few choices, not terribly exciting, but they worked for us, and you certainly cannot beat the view you have while eating.||||The location of Black 5 is also great, only a block from the amazing Piazza Santa Croce. Florence is not very big, so walking to anything or anywhere was also quite easy. Places to eat, drink, attractions, etc. all withing easy walking distance.||||We would absolutely stay at Black 5 again, and hope it is not too long before we get to again. Thank for a great stay.

Google incorrectly recognises this as a 4-star hotel which it isn't. I did not meet or see any staff/concierge. We had to pickup the keys in a restaurant and had to pay city taxes in cash, they won’t take card. Breakfast was not included and never offered to us. This is not a regular hotel, it’s more like an Airbnb type of a B&B. Location is great and room was super clean.
