Hubby and I were doing a quick driving tour of Wales and decided to spend the night in the NW port town of Caernarfon, opposite the Isle of Anglesey. We are so glad we did! Arriving lat night, the night staff kindly allowed us to park adjacent to the inn, and not wanting to venture too far to eat dinner, we ate at the Inn's restaurant/pub. Luckily we only had to wait 10-15 mins for a small table next to the fireplace. Score! The restaurant is cozy and meal portions quite decent. I highly rec. the fish 'n chips. The next day, we took a 1/2 hr walk around town -- it's a beautiful walled city -- and learned more about the name "Black Boy." Note: it's not intended t/b derogatory...the origin dates back to the 15th-16th c history of child chimney sweeps, coal mining or King Charles II's swarthy, dark complexion.
The monarch, who was in power between 1660 and 1685, was renowned partly for his dark complexion
