Black Brew

I have been there with my husband and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, the great sound track and the hot drinks. We ordered a macchiato and a chai latte vanilla, which was a litlle too sweet for my taste, but good. We ate a delicious white chocolate cookie. The cafe has a vintage vibe and good prices considering the location. The staff were really kind to us.

We went there for brunch and had breakfast from their menu, which cost only €15 — and it was absolutely wonderful! The staff were incredibly friendly and polite, and the place itself was easy to find. Overall, a great experience that I’d definitely recommend!

My favourite place in Utrecht, the Hidden Gem of the coffee places. I've visited a lot of coffee places in Utrecht and this one is definitely the best. The atmosphere is very calm and chill. Man behind the bar (the owner, perhaps?) is super chill and amicable. Due to its remote location in the city it's fairly calm compared to some of the more popular places like The Village, 30mL or De Ontdekking, which is exactly my preference. the snacks are great and the coffee is fantastic. I love reading a book here.

Was excited about having breakfast here based on the great reviews. I was in there shortly after it opened and was the only customer at the time. Unfortunately, I found a long and very obvious strand of hair on the food as soon as it was brought out. Let them know and they apologised and said they'll get me a new one which they did. Halfway through, I found another piece of hair which made me question whether it was the original plate they just brought out again. Was horrified. I paid and left quietly. The rest of my day was kind of ruined as I thought about the bit of the pancakes I had eaten before finding the hair the second time. Wish I hadn't stayed to be served the same thing for the second time.

Service was good and the ambiance is great! We had a coffee to go that just wasn't good. Milk was overheated which ruined the taste, together with semi-skimmed milk. Looking at the other reviews I expected more and therefore was a bit disappointed. I usually grab a coffee during my lunch walk, but it will take a long time before I stop here again.

The best espresso I’ve had since I was in Italy a few years ago! A+
