We booked this hotel as it's close to the Glengoyne Distillery and looked interesting. It's a six room hotel run by the community. Rooms are big, bed super comfortable (slept like a baby). Staff super friendly. You have to eat in the pub to really get the vibe. Only locals eat here and they are friendly. Food is good, a little pricey but drinks are cheap and good so that helps. Only negative was the heat didn't work great in the room but if you like a cooler room for sleeping, you are OK. Shower was hot and towel warmer worked well. Breakfast was made to order with a smile. Kind of strange also that staff is not present at night but there is a number to call in case of need. Would definitely stay again.

We were staying at the Black Bull on 31st Dec 24 as we were going to the New Years Eve Ceilidh next door in the village hall. We had a lively meal in the restaurant earlier in the evening. The rooms were all immaculate and very cosy. The staff were all very friendly and we had a very tasty breakfast on New Year's day. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend this lovely pub.

Stayed at the Black Bull last night and thought it was fantastic. Our king sized room was very well appointed with new looking modern en-suite shower / toilet. Bed was super comfy. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Staff were all first class especially Jack who looked after us.

we had a lovely time for a couple of nights. all the staff were very helpful and friendly. the room was lovely - it was very quiet and comfortable. the food was wonderful - the chips a highlight, duck salad with perfectly cooked duck and a wonderful beef and ale pie. breakfast very good.|when we arrived the car park was full ( an event was on) so member of staff offered us their place - but when we went out to move the car there were spaces.|hope to return.

Just returned from a short break in Scotland with my wife , decided to look for somewhere convenient to eat near the cobeland campsite. All I can say is that this place was an absolute charm to visit. Probably one of the best steals I’ve ever eaten with service that I’ve not found anywhere else. Friendly and very helpful staff especially as my wife is disabled , they acted on things without me even having g to ask. There is work in progress for disabled convenience but even with this being the only sticking point the staff made it absolutely impossible to find fault and looked after my wife and I faultlessly. From the second we walked in to the second we left. They seemed genuinely happy that we visited.

First time back for 29 years and what a pleasant surprise. The room was very pleasant and nice and comfortable. The bar was well stocked and comfortable. The restaurant was very nice and the menu very good. All in all a great stay and when we return to the Trossachs we will base ourselves at the Bull. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is a small, beautiful, local old hotel. The pub is friendly and cosy. The food was really nice, we had lunch, dinner and breakfast - all freshly cooked and tasty.|Our bedroom was large and very comfortable, we had a great sleep.|The staff were very friendly and service was good. |A welcome change from the many bland corporate hotels . We'd stay again.

I have stayed here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The staff are super helpful and friendly, the bar has a great atmosphere and a superb section of ale, the food at dinner and breakfast uses very good ingredients and always cooked well. The room have comfy beds and excellent showers and really well appointed. Hard to find a fault. The fact it is community owned is the icing on the cake.
