Black Duck Tavern

Delicious meal before heading to the comedy club next door. The restaurant is large and very welcoming. The drinks are expertly made (if you like spicy drinks, go for the “Some Like it Hot”), our waitress was attentive and the food was hot and delicious. We had to try the mozzarella sticks in the shape of ducks - gooey and stringy and the best crust! We both had sandwiches for dinner, and my burger was exceptional… juicy and tasty with an amazing fig spread. Leave room for dessert, the caramel/salt topped cheesecake is a winner 🌟 The restaurant is accessible. There is parking in the back and on the sides, as well as street parking.

Great prices at brunch! We didn’t make a reservation but we were still able to be seated right away even though it was pretty full. It wasn’t my favorite breakfast but it is reasonably priced. So I was thrilled with everything. Would definitely come back for their bottomless mimosas promotion. Only $15 for as many as you want in the two hours.

This is a great restaurant located seconds off the highway. If you fancy your self a night out on the town, or if your catching a comedy show next door at the comedy connection, this restaurant is the perfect place before and after the show. They have a great looking place, the inside gives off a classy relaxing vibe. They have plenty of seating , and have a nice outside patio for the warmer weather. The staff are great and attentive. Drinks and good are slammin. I’ve never been here and been disappointed. So again if your looking for a great place to try.. the Black Duck is worth the trip.

This was a great family dinner out. They had a TV with cartoons playing while the adults could talk and enjoy good food and drink. It's perfect for families looking for good food and a nicer dining experience. We will definitely be back!

So I made a reservation for the outdoor patio and was seated there and it looked really nice, I enjoyed the look and atmosphere of the restaurant. Unfortunately, me and my two brunch partners had to wait an hour and 20 minutes for our food. We arrived for a 2:15 brunch reservation and didn't receive the food till 3:30ish, left at 4:15. Two customers who arrived about 10 minutes after us actually received their food, ate, and left before we received ours and the waitress told us there was two big groups inside so our food was late. Watching everyone else get served waiting for my eggs,home fries, and bacon, I was very confused. Really sweet waitress though! $10 bottomless mimosas were nice!!

Place is super cute and cozy. The food was Amazing! The service was good but very, very slow. Prices and food quality were worth the trip though! Got the breakfast smash burger, it was so delightful and the home fries were absolutely epic. Will definitely go back.

The poor waitress seemed to be servicing all the tables with little help. Nonetheless, she was as attentive as she could be. Food was great! The mozzarella ducks were SO cute! I had the impossible smash burger with mushrooms and swiss and it was delicious! The West coast burger was also good. The coffee cake (not the name on menu) was amazing, light, and not too sweet.

Fun, cozy bar spot with good food and good options for non-alcoholic IPAs. I've been here several times before and always loved the food. This time around I got the pulled pork nachos and my partner got a burger. Nachos were excellent! The restaurant is currently undergoing "menu renovations" so their food selections are limited at the moment. To the kitchen at Black Duck Tavern, bring back the chicken and waffles!

This place is best on Sundays with a reservation. The bottomless mimosas are delicious. The food comes out, super Duper fresh I loved the second photo but I forgot the name of the dish but It was amazing My only complaint is we did have a reservation and we still got seated a bit late

I really enjoy their back patio in the summertime. I would say the food is good, I wouldn't go there for the food, but I did enjoy their drinks!

Came for drinks and apps before a show at the Comedy Connection and the hostess and the server had rotten attitudes. Flippant, sarcastic, snarky and rude. Guinness was great!

Food and drinks were great! This is a fantastic location for dinner before seeing a show at the Comedy Connection next door, but the food was enjoyable enough that I'd happy dine here regardless. We decided to share a bunch of dishes and were happy with everything we picked. We added shaved steak to the nachos (good call), had the crab rangoons, and also split an order of fish tacos which were a special this week. Everything was tasty and nice sized portions. Two thumbs up.

The service was great... the brunch was good.... I ordered the usual.... It was a little loud for my liking but other than that it was nice..... the parking is limited......definitely will come again.....

Had a really great dinner at the Black Duck before a show at Comedy Connection. The burgers were great and my date raved about the chicken sandwiches being the best they ever had. The bar staff was very helpful answering questions about Comedy Connection which saved our night. A bit out of the way but plenty of parking and worth the drive!

Google & Yelp says their open. Even their own website says they're open today. We drive 30 minutes to find out that they're closed until "further notice". Very disappointing.

Black duck is a great spot! I've been here for brunch and for dinner. The bottomless mimosas are the perfect way to enjoy your brunch. I had a delicious waffle with fresh strawberries on top. The next time I came for dinner I had the chicken and waffles and it was absolutely delicious. The waffles and chicken had this warm syrup on them and the chicken was super crispy. We also tried some appetizers such as the steak and cheese egg rolls and the crab rangoons. Both were top notch. Service was great and the drinks were also good too.

Fun pub atmosphere with great selection of beer and cocktails! Came here before a show and had a great time; staff was very pleasant and attentive. Enjoyed the House Burger on potato bun and nachos, everything was delicious! To top it off, had a great sour and mezcal drink both of which were such a treat. Definitely will be back, and looking forward to the patio in the summer!

My dad owns this place and when I tell you it's the best food ever I'm talking red parrot better than McDonalds best food in the entire world. Staff pleasant and fun to talk to. Ask to talk to rob he is fun. Beat food in the world.

We went today for brunch. Restaurant was freezing. Everyone was wearing their coats. Food was cold when served. Mimosas were good however

Great atmosphere; attentive staff. Wide variety of drink options to include specialty brews of beer. Liked the vibe very much. We had just ate nearby; so we only enjoyed after dinner drinks. So, I refrained from a five star review based on not sampling their menu. Would definitely go back.

They don't deserve 3.5 their burgers, sandwiches and nachos s are amazing. You want tavern food? This place nails tavern food, enjoy the live music the good nachos, the bomb the tacos and the super good chicken and waffles. 3.5 stars doesn't make any sense as I sit here finishing my last pulled pork taco

Not really sure how to start out but I been here before the food was great. Service was great. Tonight was a different story. It was kind of quiet but the bartender was wicked annoyed and had an attitude.I'm not sure I'll be back .

Came in with a few friends around 10 one night and was immediately seated at a table and given menus. However, we were not given service until we asked the bar after about 20 minutes of waiting around. The staff was friendly and food was decent and came out fairly quickly. Groups came in after us though and they were met with quick service. One of the theme mocktails tasted like a watered down Shirley Temple which was pretty disappointing.

Great spot in a convenient Warren Av location, next the Comedy Connection. Nice dinner room with traditional seating and a bar area with high stops. Wide selection of beers on tap and bottle. Great drink menu and delicious apps. Check them out. Friendly staff and great

Came here several times for dinner and brunch. It's especially great for dinner if you're going to the comedy connection next door for a show. Absolute hidden gem of a place. Great service, amazing food, AND good prices. It's hard to find a place like Black Duck these days when prices are out of control, the value is unmatched anywhere else in EP/Providence. Also realized they do bottomless brunch which was a pleasant surprise. Will definitely be coming back here!

Service was great ; great atmosphere. The food wasn't that great . Got the chicken and waffles . A lot of fat and dark meat in my chicken . The burger was bland . Glad I tried it .

I went here last weekend and the place sucks. We ordered the Mozzarella ducks and there were only 2 and they were way overcooked, and we got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was way over cooked and dry. I got a smashburger and I could have made better myself. Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and I would never go back. There are literally NO ENTREES, there are 3 pages of the menu. 2 with alcohol and 1 only 1 with food, and I use the term food loosely. Dreadful!! It is literally a bar that serves a little food.

Didn't eat there but left after they refused to give us tap water. They said they "didn't have any" but that they could sell us bottled water. Ridiculous.

I hate to give this place one star but unfortunately after throwing up multiple times from eating here I have to. The good: the bottomless mimosa deal is really cheap and our server was very nice The bad: I ordered the chicken and waffles and it came out super late compared to every other dish because they said they undercooked it and then over cooked it. Well I was halfway through eating mine and found a raw piece and just threw the rest away. Sadly I got sick a day later. Before I had even realized the chicken was raw, I thought the chicken and waffles were just alright. So unless you just really want cheap mimosas I wouldn't suggest here.

Was so excited to try this place. Unfortunately we were sat outside and no one came out for over 30 minutes to check in on us or give us water or anything. I brought the menus back in and was like hey we're going to go and they were like oh why? When I explained to them they were like I'm sorry. And asked if they wanted me to get a server now... The place was not busy so I'm pretty disappointed.

Great teamwork with the servers and runners. The kitchen staff were awesome for making me an impossible tacos topped with grilled onions, mushrooms, & pico de gallo. Should be permanent on menu... just saying. Drinks were delicious! Really enjoyed ourselves

Nice local place to hangout and enjoy a drink and appetizers. Nightly specials are also featured. The patio area is nice, clean and very enjoyable with the grass and patio tables. Lots of local drafts on tap and friendly service. My only wish is that they would serve actual pints instead of the 12 oz pours.

This was the first time my friends and I tried this place and I was pretty disappointed. The place was very cute and I had high hopes for it. The food prices were pretty cheap and they also have bottomless mimosas for $9 which is a great deal! They give you a carafe to share with the table so you can fill your glasses yourself (which is super convenient). As soon as our carafe was full the waitress brought over another one. My friend ordered chicken and waffles and it didn't come out until 10 minutes after the rest of us had gotten our food (in a group of 6). The waitress only updated us once that the chef had overcooked the chicken on the waffles and had to start over. It then came out pretty undercooked - hoping he doesn't get salmonella from it. My avocado toast was good but much smaller than I expected. I would recommend getting it with a side of home fries if you decide to go.

I sat over by the couches and the bartenders waited on us... Excellent service! I thought the beer selection was great. I tried the Kentucky Vanilla Cream Ale which was super tasty. My friend asked the bartender to surprise him and got a Mocha Stout by Clown shoes. I tried it - good stuff! Tuesday is 50 cent wing night so we tried 8 Carolina BBQ wings and 8 Tennessee hot wings. They were pretty good wings, though I've had better. I liked the Carolina Wings better. There was a third option - Maple Siracha which I wish we had tried. Overall, I like the vibe of this place. Plenty of parking to boot. I would definitely come back, though I am rarely in East Providence.

This nice neighborhood pub located in East Providence, near the Comedy Connection is cozy and welcoming. As we walked in, we noticed the nice bar/pub set up and the nice comfy couches. We were having dinner, so we were seated in the main dining area, which is just past the bar. The waitress was new, you could tell because she did not know how to answer many of the questions we had, but she was very nice and was ready to find an answer for us, quickly. We got two burgers and both were moist, nicely done...maybe the patties were a bit bland, but not bad. They came with a brioche bun and you can get the with salad, chips or fries. There's an easy access parking lot next to the restaurant and they take credit cards. We are going back soon to try some of their appetizer plates ! They take reservations by phone or via Open Table.

Went here for brunch a few weekends ago with a friend. Second time back. I ordered breakfast tacos. They were just okay, not hot but lukewarm. After eating almost 2 I moved to the 3rd taco and there was a dead beetle underneath the taco. Immediately I stopped eating. Let the bartender know, who truthfully just said "oh wow that's so gross" and shrugged it off. They removed the dish from our bill. No manager came out and apologized. Quite honestly I will never be back.

Decided to pop in here before our comedy show next door last minute and so glad we did! Atmosphere was great with good service. Ordered a few apps to share and their stuffie was very tasty. Cucumber margarita was a great summer evening cocktail - highly recommend!

I want to say I was kinda nervous to come here but I shouldn't have been. The decor is Art Deco which translate to beautiful. The service is excellent but the best part is the food. Fresh and everything has its own taste. Mussels like you wouldn't believe but Jared I have to tell you the Beef Braised Trinchado is Ducking un

First of all, that have plain Truly on tap and they will mix in any fresh flavor you want. My friend got grenadine to make a faux Shirley Temple. I got fresh squeezed lime and in my second one they added a dash of peach schnapps. This was amazing and all bars should do this. I want to go back just to try different flavors. We all liked our food. My friend had wings, another had the street tacos with steak, and I had the lobster roll. The lobster tasted fresh, was plentiful, and it was under 20 bucks, which is a great deal. We ordered the fried pickle app and there were a ton of pickles and chips and the dipping sauce was delicious. The bar was beautiful, there is ample parking in the lots, and the staff was great. We will definitely be back!

Cute space with cozy outdoor seating, complete with Adirondack chairs and friendly servers. Beer and cocktail selection is adequate and our friends loved the summer salad and duck-shaped mozzarella sticks. Special tacos are yummy and we will be back!

I would like to update my review! The business owner actually contacted me to say that he looked into my complaints, and that I should not have waited so long for a drink, so he asked me to return and give them another try. So I did! He was actually on vacation when I returned, so I didn't receive any "special" treatment, which is an honest standard for expectations, and I had a much better experience! Again, we only had drinks, but the staff was super attentive. The acting manager actually opened a cider for us to try because she hadn't had it yet and I was asking if it tasted like pineapple. I thought that was very generous! Drinks were good, and the staff were friendly (she was great, but I forget her name--sorry!) They also gave my friend a beer from the secret stash when he recognized them and asked about it. So, I would say they are worth a visit, especially if you're into live music on a weekend night.

Overall it was ok! The chicken was definitely the star of the show. I would not get the pancakes again but would go for another chicken dish. Food took about 40 minutes to come out but the server was nice!

Came for a simple burger and brew and ended up staying for Trivia...what fun and good food! Had the mushroom, swiss, bacon which was tasty - two smashed beef patties, bacon crispy as requested topped with swiss on a brioche bun....toasted with a hint of butter, nice touch! Washed down with the Whalers muse. Came with fries and I ordered a side caesar and ate it all.;)My buddy had the American also with the fall spinach salad which was both tasty and huge. Reasonable prices ...Kerri our server was great, checked on us often and wonderful service. Ken the DJ trivia guy, great voice, rhythm and engaging with the crowd as he had 11 teams playing, all for good fun. Background music was surprisingly good out of the one speaker he had! Great spot, good people and food...will be back!

My favorite part about this restaurant is the outdoor seating area-- it gives me San Diego vibes. During covid19 I'm only comfortable with going to restaurants that have outdoor seating so I'm glad I discovered this place. I've visited Black Duck twice.. the first time was for Sunday brunch and the second time was on a Thursday night after work. The tables are super spread out and the waitresses/waiters wear mask which is great. The menu is simple with several great options. On Thursday night, we went out for apps and drinks and I ordered the loaded tots and spicy wings which were super spicy (our waiter warned us). The drinks are super affordable and delicious, ladies I highly recommend the grilled pineapple Marg on a nice summer day. Overall great experience. Highly recommend

Maybe 3.5 Stars. Love the atmosphere - super laid back, clean and contemporary with a bit of rustic flair with the big wooden bar and seating. Came with a girlfriend to have a drink or two and a bite. The waitress told us they were in the middle of transitioning into a bigger menu as they were just doing small "bar bites" up until now. It was a bit confusing as the menu on the website was completely different that what we were given - they only offered one flavor of wings vs 5 on the website. I ordered the pork belly, my friend ordered a burger and we split the whiskey wings. Wings were cooked nicely and flavored well, pork belly was just ok. It was very different from what I expected - not bad not good just somewhere in between and it was nestled on a scarce bed of lettuce. My friend had asked for medium on the burger and her words were, "It was cooked to perfection." It's hard to get a burger temp just right so kudos to the kitchen for delivering on that. She enjoyed her burger alot but wasn't asked if she wanted fries or chips and when the order came out, it was chips - she assumed it would've came with fries unless asked. We ate them anyways, they weren't bad but we were tempted to order fries after seeing every other burger order come out with fries. Decent crowd and good selection of craft beers (mostly in cans or bottles, very few on tap). The other thing we found odd was aside from food plates, we were given Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils to eat with - I know it's a dive type bar but the plastic is a bit off putting. Our waitress although sweet and friendly wasn't as attentive as we would've liked. I think she was trying really hard to tend to everyone - we were ready to order for a while but she was chatting with other patrons. It did get busier as the night went on. I am not writing this place off - I am interested in seeing what their full menu ends up being once they get it going.

The black duck wall caught our eye as we were driving around the Providence area and when I checked the menu online and saw the beer selection I knew we had to stop in. I would recommend a reservation. We didn't have any wait and had a cool table behind the hostess stand and near the bar but I could see people waiting as it filled up as the time passed. Very nice decor and it felt like everyone was welcomed and a chatty waiter even came over to speak with us. I could see becoming a regular there if I lived in the area! Also, if you use the restroom be sure to check out the faucet. Not going to spoil it. They were only serving brunch when we arrived. I wish the lunch items had been available as I'd seen a few that I wanted to try but next time for sure. You have to scan the menu, easy enough. They have an amazing beer list - I mean seriously impressive. My dining partner tried Strawberry Birthday Cake. He liked it and I tried a sip - it legit tasted like strawberry! I got the bottomless mimosa. Price is amazing for that deal and it was a very nicely made mimosa. Great taste, just enough alcohol. I took advantage of the deal and had two. The menu isn't huge for brunch but does have a variety of breakfast and lunch items. My partner got the ancient grains bowl. That looked yummy as it had a fried egg, avocado, yogurt, spinach and grains. I went with the scrambled egg bowl which has a choice of ham, sausage and bacon and potatoes with cheese. I felt it was a bit overcooked. The eggs were just so so. The potatoes were good but there wasn't much cheese. I did like the sausage. Both portions were huge and very filling. And, the prices were great for everything we got. Definitely worth checking out and I think we'll be back sooner rather than later to try lunch or dinner.

I really have to give the establishment 4 stars. I've been going here for a while now and in the last 90 days I've been 4 times. Every time has been a great experience. Great food, a variety of drinks and craft beer. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. Great customer service. Definitely a gem to try.

The beer selection is still OK. Unfortunately, the quality of the meal, especially the hamburger has declined significantly. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great place to stop in for a drink. Beautiful interior.

I felt the service was unsatisfactory. I had to wait quite a while to be seated, although the ducking iced coffee was Tuff.

The wife and I met another couple for appetizers and drinks. The wings were good and the cheese and meat board was very good. The service was excellent.

Absolutely great food, amazing beer list, and friendly staff. I had steak frites, and it was absolutely perfect. I even found a beer that I wanted to try but couldn't find anywhere. I hope they have live music of karaoke again soon. I'd love to go back for a night out. For now, though, it was lovely just having a beer and sitting at a bar.

This place is located in a weird spot, it's kind of out of the way unless you are going to Comedy Connection. It is worth venturing out though. The vibe is awesome, it's sleek but has a laid back feel to it. Great for a beer with a friend or a date night - everyone wins. The service is quick and the waitress knew everything about the menu and the drinks. She was also the bartender. I ordered a chicken sandwich. The picture does not do it justice - it was delicious. So much flavor. I really really liked it. My friend ordered the steak tacos - the marinade is different, you either love it or hate it. We happened not to not like it, but it's a matter of preference really. Real talk tho - that chicken sandwich. Try it.
