Yelp
I was fully set to fall in love with Black Honey Hashery. It's an adorable local spot and I'm prone to obsessing over breakfast, but while the atmosphere did indeed charm, my Tailgater Scramble didn't.
Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere?
Black Honey Hashery is the definition of a local spot, and coming from Los Angeles it was refreshing to see the place jam packed on a Saturday morning full of friendly folks who clearly make it a regular destination. The service was a bit sluggish, but that wasn't surprising given the crowd. Star.
Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?
With a price tag of only $7.99, my Tailgater Scramble was reasonably priced given what was a medium sized portion. Star.
Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?
I'll admit that I was a bit let down by my Tailgater Scramble. The description hooked me as it was billed as a mix of bacon, sausage, and corned beef, but there was only a little bit of each and the dish was essentially just a sum of its parts as opposed to a comprehensive and unique dish. It was almost as if the ingredients were cooked separately and thrown together at the end instead of being cooked together from the get-go to get all of the flavors mixed together. Single Star.
Star 5: Would you be excited to go back?
Black Honey Hashery is a great local spot, but it won't be atop my list of places to return to when I'm next in the area. No Star.
