Dinner club at Black Iron Bistro The only decision you make is to make a reservation. The rest is the celebration of food, flavors, you in all of it, and unmatched passion of the chef and his team. One of the favorite places to go for a date. Consider an option of walking in, sitting at the bar, and ordering from à la carte menu. You will be impressed with the freshness and thoughtfulness of your plates.

Having eaten at many of the more acclaimed and established restaurants in Buffalo over the years, I have come to the conclusion that Black Iron Bystro is my new favorite restaurant in this area. The food here is clearly prepared with creativity, care and passion. It has a fusion vibe, with some unusual and fun combinations both times we have been there. Vegetarian substitutions are just as good as the regular dishes. The quality of ingredients is very high, and execution is excellent. All of the food arrives at the perfect temperature and it is genuinely delicious. Portions were substantial but not overwhelming (which is sometimes a Buffalo thing). The staff and service are friendly and excellent, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Obviously it's a subjective thing, but we really enjoyed the style of music they're playing in the background too. It feels like you're eating at the house of very talented friends rather than just at a restaurant. Wholeheartedly recommend.

We have been here twice so far. The food was incredible both times! We discovered flavors and combinations that we never knew or thought to try. Each course followed a theme and was diverse and delicious. Intimate & comfortable ambiance. Cocktails and pairings were just as creative as the food and complimented the meal. Chef Bryan, Chef Steve, Derik and Cassidy are all amazing in their own way and as a team. We felt like family and can't wait to return.

Literally one of the best meals I've ever had. Did the four course dinner club, all courses were delicious with interesting flavor combinations and fresh seasonal ingredients. The Beverage pairings were delicious, two wines and two cocktails that went well with their dishes. All staff was super friendly and accommodating, would highly recommend for a special occasion.

I went here for a date night and it turned out to be an amazing spot for a date! Food was perfect, drinks were great, and service was spot on! I really enjoyed the different flavors in the food (like the basil ice cream and curry in the stewed apples with the pork). I would love to go here again! And often because the menu changes regularly!

We had the mystery dinner there two weeks ago and it was wonderful. Service was stellar and each dish was a delicious surprise, especially the ribeye with polenta cake. I wish I had asked what the first cocktail was because I enjoyed it so much but missed when the server told us what it was. It's an intimate place with not many tables. Great atmosphere for date night or a night out with foodie friends. We will definitely be back.

Black Iron Bystro is a foodies dream. That is, if your a open-minded person. Reason being is, this place has two different menus. One menu (small) you have dips, charcuterie board, and scallops to name a few. The second menu is truly a mystery. It's a four course prix fixe dinner ($100per), with a paired beverage (alcohol). This dinner menu is forever changing, and its whatever the chef wants for the evening. Every bit of this evening was a great experience. Good food along with high quality drinks. Makes this place a spot you have to try, and try again. The decor is beautiful and relaxing. The bar area is just as elegant as the dining area. This is a very small restaurant and even though they welcome walk ins. I would recommend making reservations.

Google
4 courses if you go for the tasting menu. I enjoyed the mushroom focaccia and cannelloni the most. Overall the meal was enjoyable. Nice atmosphere and good service. Not too pricey

Yelp
Always amazing! We love the dinner club experience and this High tea cocktail party was the adventure they always promise. No menu, just delicious surprises that keep being served. I can tell you I would never order rabbit off of a menu before that night, but I will now. The atmosphere is electric. All of the tables are alive with happy conversation and drinking in the surroundings. The hosts bring you the chefs creation and go into detail about the ingredients and preparations. They love what they do and it shows. An all time favorite place for us! Thank you for your passion for food!

Yelp
A new favorite. We did the dinner club prix fixe menu for my birthday and everything was amazing. Each course is served with an accompanying half sized drink equaling about two drinks through the meal. $100 for the meal. Looking forward to doing it again and also just dropping in sometime for drinks and the regular a la carte tapas type menu. First course: Crudo I forget the fish unfortunately but it was dressed with cilantro oil, apples, spring onions, lilac blossoms and served with black sesame rice crisps. It was delectable. Second course: Beet ricotta crostinis Beet and ricotta mousse on a fresh crostini with cucumber salad, dill, cheese, and pea sprouts. May have been our favorite but everything was amazing. Third course: Chicken tinga rollup A delicious chicken tinga stew rolled in homemade lasagna like noodle served with a fresh citrusy dressed baby kale salad. Fourth course: Basil ice cream and cornbread Basil ice cream, sweet corn bread, rose petals, and piped rose and berry mousses. So good! Highly recommend visiting Black Iron Bystro. We had a flight of amaros after dinner and enjoyed the server's deep knowledge of all of our dishes and drinks.

Yelp
This was our third time here, and they really knocked it out of the water. Not only was every course carefully paired with a craft cocktail or wine, but our party had several dietary needs that were easily met. Texture and taste combined for this supper club to make plates that you wish you could eat every day. The service is attentive but not overpowering. You learn plenty about the food and drinks but you don't feel like you're being hovered over. The place is dim, but not dark, very classy looking and different from any restaurant you'll find in Western New York. Supper club is a "must do," but if you find yourself, just wanting it happen and drink the food, drinks and service from the bar is just a spectacular.

Yelp
Incredible prix fixe meal with drink pairing last night! Ambiance, service and of course food and drink were just superb. It's an intimate space and we got our pick of corner booths. With a view of outside and the bar for anyone coming in for the a la carte menu. The food was all new combos for me, interesting and delicious. The drink pairings were varied and fun. The service was superb, knowledgeable and engaging staff and we were delighted to meet the chef at the end of the night. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Wow! This place is out of this World... Well, maybe not that extreme but to find this here in Buffalo was surely a treat. This place is run by a very creative Chef. The team pulls together a prix-fix 5 course with pairings of creative drinks. It's a one price per person with only two seatings on some nights. I really loved this place and am sure anyone who loves the art of food & drink will too.

Yelp
My husband and I went to this restaurant last night for dinner. It was intimate and romantic. The food was amazing. My drinks were good but a bit too strong for me. The staff were friendly and informative. They let everyone know how much they enjoyed their jobs and made us feel special and welcomed.

Yelp
This is a place you are going to need an open mind and pallet for. If you are not adventurous or like out of the ordinary foods, this place is not for you. We came for the mystery dinner club which came with 4 courses and drinks that pair with the dishes. The homemade sparkling water was very tasty. The drinks were pricy for what they were. The staff was very knowledgeable and informative on the dishes. We had an eggplant dish to start that was tasty with the cheese. next was a trout dish which I was not a fan of because I don't like fish. The pasta with braised ribs was flavourful and tasty, it just was a small offering. For dessert it was a rosemary ice cream with a lemon olive oil cake. That was my favorite part, and I thought the flavors all came together well which surprised me. We can say we have done their mystery dinner but not something we would do all the time for the price and the small amount of food you get.

Yelp
We just moved back to WNY after twelve years in NYC. I am thrilled that we found Black Iron Bystro. Ambiance: The space is dimly lit, intimate and minimalistic. The music was perfect, too. A great date night spot. Drinks: The cocktail menu was creative and wide ranging. I felt like something lighter in ABV to start, as the dinner club served a drink with each of the four courses. The server recommended a Sicilian amaro with soda water and orange as an aperitif. Delicious! I will definitely track this amaro down to make at home. Each course's drink paired perfectly and appeared seasonal. Service: The service was attentive, friendly and super helpful. Each course and beverage was thoughtfully explained and we never had to ask for anything. Food: I hate long Yelp reviews so I won't go into a lot of detail, other than to say the food was absolutely delicious. Not only were each of these courses perfectly executed, but they were elevated by their superb plating. Plating goes a long way toward making a meal more enjoyable, and visually appealing plating is very rare in WNY. Each of the four courses reflected a different part of the globe--Italy, Mexico, Japan (& LES/Brooklyn!) and the Middle East. On paper this combination may seem disjointed, but it was a very interesting and enjoyable journey! I will also say that we were so thrilled that nothing was over-salted--another crime of which most other WNY restaurants are guilty. We didn't come away feeling too full, or even wanting more food. The portions were perfect. Price: The price was exactly what I'd expect to pay for this experience. $100 per person (+tip) for four courses and accompanying drinks. A steal. Verdict: We will 100% be back. It is one of the few restaurants we've found in Buffalo during our short time home (and visits back during the past decade) that could be seamlessly dropped into the Tribeca/Nolita/Park Slope dining scene (Billy Club being the only other). It is by pure chance that we found this place (browsing on Tock); I'm not sure why we haven't heard of it from others, but we will be spreading the word!

Yelp
My wife and I went to the first time and had an incredible meal! We loved the ambiance, the service was impeccable, and the food outstanding. Highly, highly recommend the tasting menu. For us the first course was some sort of fried sweet potato, then a salmon dish for me, the star of the night was the main course a braised beef on ravioli, and finally an incredible olive oil cake with basil gelato. AMAZING. Drink pairings were excellent. My wife is pregnant and they gave her unique NA drinks and even changed one of the dishes without us asking. The portions were excellent. Even though we were full we couldn't help ourselves and still got the Pork Belly. It's not to be missed. Check this place out. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
Attended the 5:30 seating for the fixe price dinner, which includes four courses with paired beverages. I love trying new eclectic menus and was excited at the potential. Food quality was excellent, fresh, and we received some interesting plates, but I felt overall things were under seasoned. There were no wows and that was disappointing. The paired beverages were forgettable and, in my opinion, didn't really seem to pair w/ the plates they were served with. I thought the wines served were better than the cocktails with the exception of my first cocktail ordered off the bar menu, which was some sort of tequila based 'summer' cocktail. That was the best thing I had that night! I might try again, particularly in the summer when local ingredients might add some inspiration. The food was ok/good - not the WOW I was hoping for.

Yelp
Amazing experience and couldn't recommend more! Great vibes, atmosphere, and food! Will definitely be revisiting!
