Black Iron Grill Rotisserie

Very, very good! Don't miss this place. I had a pulled pork sandwich with a side sauteed mushrooms (lots of mushrooms). My wife had their version of a cubano. It was all very good. Service was great and friendly and its a real nice looking place

My steak was incredibly good! The best steak I have eaten in years! March 2025. I was traveling and stayed in Miles City for one night. Black Iron Grill and Rotisserie was near my hotel. Fortunately, I decided to try it out. Ordered a 20 oz rib-eye, Caesar salad, coleslaw, peach cobbler and Redheaded IPA beer. Menu says this restaurant only sells Montana beef. Maybe this is the secret to a good steak -- Montana beef. Steak was cooked exactly how I requested and tasted wonderful. Caesar salad was tasty. Coleslaw was good but seemed to have a bit too much creamy sauce. Peach cobbler (secret recipe) was not very good - but the Wisconsin ice cream with it was very tasty. Redheaded IPA beer was very good. Service was mediocre. Waitress was not angry but was not pleasant either. Other staff that delivered the food were punctual and useful. Meal was $77 without tip. A bit pricey for one person; but most everything is now-a-days. I recommend the Black Iron Grill and Rotisserie based on the one steak dinner I had (that was SO good!).

Staying in Miles City, Montana and wanted a nice restaurant to eat at. My son, daughter in law, and grandchildren were with me. My son ordered a steak, DIL ordered mushrooms burger and I had the rotisserie chicken. Son said steak was really good, little fatty but loved the home grown beef in Montana. DIL said her burger was good as well it was just a lot of food. My chicken was ok, not my favorite but still good. We felt like the waitress was super busy and didn’t get to check on us as much as we wanted. It was Saturday night and super busy. Over all it was really good. My kids will go back for they are staying a couple of months while working in the area.

Worth a trip if you're in the area. The brisket meal was great! I'd also like to add that our server was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Quick, friendly service, great food, and good vibes all around. The place smelled amazing the second I walked in, and everything tasted just as good. Staff was efficient and welcoming—I’ll definitely be back!

Awesome food, we had the Ruben w/homemade pub chips and the classic cheeseburger w/slaw. The host and server were very friendly and helpful.

We dined at Black Iron Restaurant twice during our road trip, and it was truly one of the highlights of our journey. Conveniently located right off the highway, this gem of a restaurant serves food made with genuine heart — everything we had was incredibly delicious and of exceptional quality. Every dish was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The service was just as impressive. The staff were not only friendly but also honest — our server even gently stopped us from over-ordering, which we really appreciated. And the best part? The prices are unbelievably reasonable for the quality you get. 100% recommended. Honestly, Black Iron might be the reason we return to Miles City in the future.

Stopped here on our way out to Washington. Food was amazing! The service and environment is top notch. Would recommend/10

Good service good atmosphere food is tasty we had two perfectly cooked steak and chicken, cobbler is fantastic, hidden gem for sure, the negative reviews seem to be from a while Ago, who ever is back in the kitchen now obviously gives a hoot,

You'd be hard pressed to go wrong with the chicken fried steak o their chicken. Be warned that they get busy but there's a good reason for that. It's, imo,the best option in town & everyone knows it!

Food: We got the brisket sandwich and chicken bacon ranch wrap. Both were very tasty. The rotisserie chicken was especially good. Service: Service was quick and attentive. Atmosphere: The restaurant is definitely a good place to meet up with friends for lunch or dinner. The decor/ambiance was nice and it was very clean.

Great service, fresh & delicious food. Best flank steak I've ever had in my life. Fresh spinach, adorned by roasted red peppers and blue cheese that fell from heaven. Drizzled with champagne vinaigrette and the breaded soft boiled egg was genius.

There is not much in the way of food or decent restaurants in this area of Montana so the Black Iron Grill was a very pleasant option. My daughter and I stopped in on a Saturday evening. It was busy but they managed the crowd very well. Service was excellent, our server was attentive, knew the menu, offered refills, and checked back on us appropriately. She was friendly and professional. Our food was delicious. Every single bite was amazing. The food was brought out at a good pace and the food was piping hot, which is how it should be instead of sitting under heat lamps. The brisket mac n cheese was AMAZING. The sweetness of the bbq sauce paired with the mac n cheese was out of this world. My daughter loved her pasta dish as well. Decent pricing for the portions. Clean and comfortable seating. Easy parking - right off the freeway.

Friendly staff, good food, clean facility, big screen tv's with sports, nice bar, close to the highway, and affordable.

I stopped here for a meal while moving, and it did not disappoint! Great service from the bartender and great food for fair prices. I got the rotisserie chicken which tasted great and came with a side (I got the sautéed mushrooms) as well as a soup/salad . Portion sizes were great too.

I expected better after reading some of the reviews. Walked in and waited and waited to be seated No one as hostess even though sign stated to wait to be seated. Walked into the other room and no one to seat us. Had time to take turns going to rest room before being seated. It was certainly not because they were busy. I wanted a chicken sandwich which I discovered it would not be hot with the cheese melted. I ordered a burger medium. It came medium rare which is ok but not what requested. It was quite greasy. I ordered mashed potatoes which were luke warm. Husband ordered a brisket sandwich. It was delicious. Had to request refill of water. Request more then once a to - go container and then was given the wrong bill after running my credit card. Definitely not pleased about that. I would not have given this place 3 stars but my husband enjoyed his meal

Initially wasn't expecting much due to the location, but the food was PHENOMENAL. I had the rotisserie chicken and my partner had the quesadilla burger and we were both more than satisfied with the quality and the portions. Our server Amber was GREAT!! She knew the menu like the back of her hand and although she was the only one on the floor at times, she was always attentive to our needs and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Please give her some sort of special recognition if you can I've truly never seen a server bust their ass to bring quality service like she did

Not one bad thing to say. Group of six and we went there for lunch and dinner same day it was so good. Lunch had a sandwich then dinner was filet. It was cooked perfectly. Service was great even though they were really busy in the evening. Highly recommend.

I'm town for work, stopped by for dinner, I got the bacon cheeseburger and a beer, was not disappointed. The place was packed on a Wednesday; Good food, and great service.

Amazing restraunt. The food is top notch and the sample platter was great. It provided an amazing value because the leftovers made another meal. The staff and service was what you expect from a high end restaurant. They were extremely professional and helpful. The overall ambiance of the location projected a high end establishment while being comfortable and friendly.

This was my first visit to Black Iron Grill today. I will be coming back here again! My Prime Rib au jus sandwich was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. The Pub Chips were freshly cooked and hit the spot! I enjoy this type of potato instead of fries. Service was friendly, fast, and they did not mind sharing a laugh with us today. Great place to kick back and relax in their restaurant. Ambiance is warm and friendly.

Wow! Excellent Food! Flank Steak Salad and split French Dip Prime Rib Sandwich. Plenty for a second meal for each of us. Excellent Lunch Today

Our server was very great and attentive. We stopped in for lunch before heading to the winery and oh my gosh... it was phenomenal! We started with the cowboy candy, pan seared; super delicious. Then had a Caesar salad with steak on it. I love Caesar salad and am picky on it and this was the best Caesar I've had. Especially with the steak. Then asked for a side of sausage to try that and that was so good as well and was so good dipped in the Caesar dressing! The bar area was very nice and clean and organized as well. Everyone was fantastic.

The flatiron steak was tender and fork curable. Loved it! Service was top end. They welcomed our Bernedoodle (85#). Traveling through, but would go out of our way to go there again!

2nd time here and everything was awesome both times! I had the Buffalo burger, fries n Cole slaw. Burger was very good ( never had Buffalo before), Cole slaw was some of the best I've tasted! Beer was cold and always full! Great service! Will definitely eat here again when I roll through.

Contemporary setting, clean, pleasant. I went for the Burnt Ends appetizer... I guess every six months, on again, off again. Last night was off again. But we had cowboy candy - very tender chunks of beef, couldn't really tell you how they were cooked, but it was good. Not burnt ends, but good. In fact, really good. I had the rotisserie brisket, not a fan. A little tough and stringy. Chose French Onion Soup to go with it. A girl friend prepared French Onion Soup once, and I married her! She doesn't need to worry about any competition here. Okay, but not wow. My friends chose rotisserie chicken, half rack of ribs and flat iron steak. I thought I would outdo them all, but alas, yesterday was not that day.

Atmosphere is pretty decent, location is convenient...ok, I'm struggling to say good things - service is weak. I dined at the bar last night and the bartender lacked even an ounce of personality. Maybe a bad night, so I'll stick with the food Started with the chili-- pretty good and I loved the Fritos on the side! It was actually hot - I mean so often when you order a soup it's like warm when served. Loved it I then had the rotisserie chicken- was pretty good - it looked amazing, but the breast was a little dry. Hard to time chicken as the breast will dry out fast. Would add some kind of sauce to help.. but was decent. I would recommend - nothing special, but pretty good

I've driven through Miles City multiple times, and finally got to stop and eat at the Black Iron Grill. We were a group of five, and even though it was getting late the staff were so nice to us. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, some of the best blackened salmon I've had in years. If you get a chance to stop in do it!

Had a great experience at the bar. $6 hornitos tequila, can't beat that. Right off the highway and a short walk to many hotels. Great place to grab a drink and some grub. The portions are large so come hungry. I had the Cajun tortellini to-go and it was pretty tasty. Every business can have a bad day, but burning them in a bad review is excessive. If something isn't right, ask for it to be corrected. Amazing what will happen when you just communicate.

We stopped on our way through to North Dakota for dinner and we were not disappointed. I had a Ceasar Salad with steak which was crisp and delicious. My husband had the flank steak with mushrooms which was juicy and flavorful and our friend had a cheeseburger and cajun fried all of which was again juicy, flavorful and delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly! I would highly recommend!

Came in from traveling back home from Red Lodge, MT. Glad we did it was FABULOUS!! Best chicken bacon ranch wrap I have ever had!!! Hubby got the Cuban said was delicious and hot. Dad got the fried pork sandwich special, talk about tender and was smoking hot till the last bite. He said it was Awesome! If you are anywhere near here....EAT HERE! We stopped for lunch but I can imagine dinner is spectacular. We got here right at opening and by the time we were finished it was packed, rightfully so!!!

Wow! The smoked wings and steak salad are amazing! I have come here several time in my travels - I now plan my stops for Miles City just to come to the Black Iron Grill!

3.5 stars. Tried their smokehouse platter with extra brisket and no chicken. Ribs and brisket are good but I'm not a fan of their sausage (no pun intended ). The brisket was decent but lacked a little bit of smoke and was a bit to the dry side. That could just be down to this particular cut. The ribs are good, would recommend. I'm somewhat sad I skipped the chicken and tried the sausage instead, as it was just ok.

Whoa, what a great, welcoming place... smiles and immediate greetings at the front door, even though they were extremely busy. Surprisingly fast, we were seated at an awesome two top, in a warm and lively, spacious room. Every single person we encountered was attentive, friendly and genuine... Montanans who treat all patrons, Local and Travelers, with respect and kindness. To top it off, I forgot my credit card, noticed and called two days later, they immediately located it and mailed it to me! Thanks, Black Iron Grill...see you again soon.

Wow! I wasn't sure what to expect here, but after a long day of travel, it really hit the spot. The Smokehouse Platter comes with a tasting of brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage, two sides, and soup (or salad). My husband and I were blown away by the flavor of the meat. We both had the French Onion soup which was out of this world. Hot, fresh, delicious. Our server was perfectly attentive, but not intrusive, and made us feel right at home. If I HAD to ding it for anything, it would've been the timing. We had to push our delicious soup aside far too soon before the entree arrived...but that's my only suggestion for improvement. An otherwise perfect dinner!

Omg! The recommendation was the flat iron pork and it was deeeeelicous! I would go back for that meal any day of the week!

We like to come here for special occasions, and it is a fantastic steak house. The steak is excellent and I am not much of a red meat person, but the steak salad would satisfy anyone for a full meal. We almost always bring home a box of leftovers because the portions are generous and to be honest we tend to eat every bite. They are just as delicious the next day for a snack. Their 'cowboy candy' is so good, again - I usually want to lick the plate, lol! They are so smart to be right on the highway because they fill up with locals and travellers and I would say they could easily hold their own with any fine restaurant anywhere in the country.

Very clean, staff is friendly and accommodating. They wear masks and encourage social distancing. Service is phenomenal. Salad with bleu cheese dressing was fresh and very tasty. The trout special was unbelievable, baked potato was big enough for 2 people. Spaghetti and meatballs was perfect and could be split, plenty big. We will be back

The service was good. The ambiance was noisy. The food was good, but not great. That said, it's probably the best you'll get in Miles City.

I ate here twice on a recent business trip. The first night I had the flat iron steak which was cooked exactly to my specifications. I chose the loaded baked potato as my side and it was good. On the second night I split the 16 ounce prime rib with a coworker. We told the waitress we were going to split and I assumed there would be a split plate charge. Instead, I was charged for the soup and the mashed potatoes side I ordered separately. I was really disappointed by that. I don't know if the waitress didn't know how to do a split plate or if they don't have a split plate charge. With no split plate charge, this was an expensive meal. I can't complain about the prime rib. But I will tell you that the side dish to order is the mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes are the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten in a restaurant. And the gravy isn't bad either. The Manhattans served here are excellent.

Rude employees and horrible service overall. For how expensive this place is, you would think they would train their employees to be polite and actually care about their customers.

Ate here while staying in town on way to west coast. Food wasn't worth writing home about to be honest. For the price they need to hire some real chefs. Had the ribs and they were very very dry and tough to eat. Wife had the Mahi Mahi and wasn't to impressed neither. The bigger girl wasnt to good of a waitress and very pokey and didn't greet us the right way right off the bat. There is more employees just walking around doing nothing then we really needed to see. Place must go broke with all the help they got! But then when you get 2 star food for the price of 5 star it all makes sense. Won't be back

On point! Steak was cooked perfectly with optimal flavor. Balsamic reduction was stellar and the side of asparagus was perfectly sautéed, would highly recommend this restaurant. A refreshing find in the Montana outback. Ps French onion was a perfect starter

This had excellent food! We had college aged boys with us and they couldn't finish their dinners. Huge portions. The steak was fantastic! The chicken fried steak was great! The drinks were also awesome! Very good service. Would highly recommend!

I loved this place! Great atmosphere and service! We had two stake salads, crab puffs and some cocktails. Everything was delicious! Great outdoor patio too.

The best part about the steak salad was the hard boiled egg. Steak was tough. My husband had chicken strips and was pleased. We'll be back, but ordering something different next time. The place was busy so there must be good meals. Only 10 minute wait to get in.

Stopped here for a to go order on a trip. Ordered a mushroom swiss burger, it comes with homemade chips or fries, I chose the chips. The food was so good. The burger had to be 1/3" thick, so juicy but not greasy, lots of.mushrooms on top of the melted swiss. I was glad I had thought to have a lot of napkins on my lap, chips were also so good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I went here based on a recommendation from the desk clerk at the motel I was staying at. This place is clean and laid out very nicely and spacious. I was seated right away and my waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The menu is a little pricey but I needed a sit down meal and the options seemed a bit limited within walking distance of the motel. I had the rotisserie chicken and it was so good. I would return to eat here again but next time I will try some beef dish seeing that it is beef country.

One late evening we stopped by and ordered two buffalo burgers and full rack rib. Buffalo burgers eaters both had diarrhea the next morning. Not sure if there was something off in the burgers or if contaminated. Tasted fine, not the best but a-okay. The fact that both had bad reactions next morning (and both ate burgers) is concerning. Ribs were okay, too. Eaten by two family members with leftover for next day. No bowel reaction to that. Favorits sides/substitutes were ceasar salad and loaded potato. One employee was in washroom stall and then went straight back to work without washing hands. I asked her about it and she was apologetic. Agreed that everyone should wash hands even if they were just using the mobile in the washroom stall. I liked her polite response, wasn't defensive. Hopefully won't happen again and hopefully the lack of hand washing and touching kitchen utensils weren't the reason for our stomach reactions.

Great steak, massive potato, quick and friendly service. Pleasant surprise for a weary traveler.
