New Zealand Food Is Making Its Way Onto the Map

"A sustainably minded Frankton café and roastery that eliminates single-use takeout cups, roasts beans in-house on a commercial roaster, and offers a conscientious coffee experience with beans sourced from multiple origins." - Ashley Day

Tried many of the single origins and house blend as a pour over and in milk drinks, all very nice and dialled in well. The barista kindly informed us of his brewing methods for each coffee. Hands down best cafe in Queenstown.

If you wanna find excellent filter coffee, try this place. They have beans from Ethiopia, Kenya, Columbia etc. You can also buy their roasted beans here.

A little bit hard to find but definitely worth! In 2 weeks of traveling in the South Island I finally found the place with V60 pour over coffee! And oooo boy it was tasty. Really nice balance and strong body. Staff is nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Perfect stop for a coffee enthusiast ☕️

I am a barista from a specialty coffee shop in Australia and I struggle to find proper specialty coffee shops in Brisbane, so I had my doubts coming to NZ, but after having a coffee at Black Lab I can confidently say they have some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. They had 6 different single origins to choose from and a house blend that was just as delicious as the single origins. The second you enter the coffee shop you can tell how passionate and knowledgeable the owner is about coffee. When I first arrived I ordered the piccolo flight, which is 3 piccolos on 3 different beans, a light roast single origin, the house blend, and a dark roast single origin. All 3 were full of flavour and prepared perfectly. If you like proper coffee, you will not be disappointed.

Little hard to find w parking but it’s back thete. Best coffee on our whole trip. Bought the Brazilian blend and regret not buying the bigger bag. The gentlemen there schooled me, I didn’t know darker roasts takes away a lot of the flavor from the bean. We tried the flight and it was great to taste the differences. Coffee lovers must.

I travelled New Zealand from North to South for 2 weeks and always ordered a flat white everywhere I visited. This was the best flat white I had in New Zealand, and probably one of the best ever. Great coffee flavour, perfect microform and the latte art speaks by itself.

One of the best, if not the best, coffees I had in New Zealand. I had their signature blend in the morning, as a normal long black to enjoy the coffee taste more. I loved it! Remembering the good coffee I had, I came back in the afternoon to try more of the other ones as well. There is something like a „coffee tasting“, called the piccolo flight. 3 different blends and it was amazing again. I swapped the signature blend for their strongest one, to try one more. Actually the strongest one was my favorite! Can totally recommend going there, especially if you are visiting Country Land anyway! Had a very nice talk with the owner about coffee, coffee machines and Japan haha.
