"A sustainably minded Frankton café and roastery that eliminates single-use takeout cups, roasts beans in-house on a commercial roaster, and offers a conscientious coffee experience with beans sourced from multiple origins." - Ashley Day
Accidentally came across this quaint roaster in the middle of a local shop. Decided to try their coffee pour over Pititi. Strong aroma of peach and mango. It was absolutely juicy, ending with a tea-like note. Owner was also roasting beans in, which give a very strong confident of fresh beans. Would have bought the freshly roasted beans if the packaging is airtight with a one-way valve.

Solid coffee roaster that only offers dine in coffee, seemingly for a controlled experience and flavour profile. Ordered the flat white but it did came out to have too little milk for my liking - which makes the coffee slightly overpowering. That said, the coffee felt really clean, and it was the house blend beans if anyone is interesting to buy the beans. They do also have other variety of beans readily packed for purchase as well.

*no takeout available*. Best coffee shop during our NZ trip! You can see their own roaster right in the shop. We tried three different beans in two days, all pour over. We really love the one with the pineapple note! Just beware that they don't do any takeout. So prepare to slow down and enjoy your coffee here!

This coffee roastery may be a little off the beaten tourist track, but well worth the trip from Queenstown. Coffee is top notch, great flavours in the house blend, nicely presented with pleasant service

Best coffee and friendly owner. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet the dogs.
My own speculation about the dogs, since a few weeks earlier, a crazy person, dog hater, and judging by her other reviews, generally unstable, interpreted some regulation to mean that dogs had no place in grocery stores. It's a real shame, because the dogs would have been a great addition to the scenery and a relaxing coffee.

Tried many of the single origins and house blend as a pour over and in milk drinks, all very nice and dialled in well. The barista kindly informed us of his brewing methods for each coffee. Hands down best cafe in Queenstown.

Black Lab Coffee is AWESOME. We absolutely love the vibe and the owner is absolutely lovely. Their coffee is outstanding and the best part (other than the owner, and coffee!) is the fact that the owner’s two beautiful dogs (Molly & Mylo) are so chill and love a pat ❤️
