Black Marlin Dive Resort

Beautiful little family owned resort. Very rustic but relaxing, with an unbeatable location and friendly staff & owner. Ended up staying much longer than I planned initially for the diving, which was amazing. Highly recommend, looking forward to coming back in the future.

Fantastic resort, on a beautiful beach for a good price. It's hard to get good amenities on Togean, and this place was a big upgrade from my previous guest house. I winged it with Togean Island in peak season, and the owner was good at helping me get organized.

island is amazing and location excellent - but accommodation was really horrible. Run down, basic, not very clean (heaps of rubbish behind our room). Food absolutely terrible - 2 minute noodle with half cooked egg in it on our arrival. Other good very basic, poor quality (dry cake and a bana for breakfast). Drinking water only available from restaurant and at meal times. No soap, putrid toilet. Very arrogant ad rude owner - they seem to favour divers who spend $$& though we spoke to a spainish tourist who got put in intermediate session (he is advanced) and there was only one instructor and class full of new beginners who had never dived. He spent all his time helping and guiding them - no thanks let alone a discount - and as he said ‘very unsafe’.|The location is stunning g but do your research - this is a horrible place to stay- dirty, basic, unwelcoming, terrible food and service. Do not go here - there is much better on the island.

I stayed at Black Marlin resort in September 2024. The staff, especially, pak Ais, is very helpful and attentive. The food was great and fresh from the sea. But they need to fixed a lot of broken things like few part of wooden floor on the top bungalow is rotten & very dangerous. We went snorkelling just in front of our resort (better at neighbouring resort though) & trekking to secluded beach through lush jungle. Togean Islands are beautiful.

The pros are the local guys running the place, they are very nice people. Also the reef right in front of it is not as colourful as others but I have seen so many fishes, it was impressive. The cons: -the room was in very poor condition, really decaying. And most importantly, no one cleaned it before we entered..! There was stuff on the floor and bed all over, hairs in the toilet ..pretty disgusting -as opposed to all other resorts I have seen in the Togean, there is no nice beach in front of it, they preferred to throw cement (such a pity) -food is ok, average All in all, the resorts nearby are all much better than this one, and if you are into diving you can just stay somewhere else and come here just for a dive and go.

A big disappointment. Probably the place was really nice in the early 2000s but now is completely abandoned and very poorly maintained. There are tons of plastics in the area that can be easily cleaned and everything seems old and broken. When we arrived there was no one to receive us. The room was okay but the bathroom was an absolute nightmare. It was very dirty when we arrived, and it was obvious that it hadn’t been cleaned properly for a long time (you can see the pictures and judge for yourself). After telling them to clean the bathroom again (although they claimed it was clean) somehow they managed to break the sink and make a complete mess. We were supposed to stay here 3 nights but we only stayed 2, and just because we had already paid those. It’s a shame because it could be a very nice place.

perfect place to disconnect from the world. Electricity from 6-11 pm and no wifi unless a little extra pay which I don’t recommend! Very friendly staff and good cooking as well ! room are bit hot during the night but there is always a hammock free to crash and sleep next to the sea and waves. No luxury accommodation which should be clear from the beginning once you see the prices but we as a couple with a friend totally loved the place and stayed a week there. also went diving every day and equipment is well maintained, little leak here and there but that’s just normal and found in every dive center so all great, dive sites been very nice with good corals and sharks on every dive. also we went on daytrips such as melange island to see the bajo village and jellyfish lake. If we come back to togean we will stay again for sure !

When I saw the reviews about the resort I was a little bit worried how it will be. I can tell you that the bad reviews were written by spoiled rich people who don’t know how traveling looks like. You are in Indonesia. If you don’t want an experience just stay at home.||We had the best holiday ever in Black Marlin. You have just a couple of meters till the sea and a beautiful reef just in front of the resort. You can also experience one of the best sunsets on the jetty. The food prepared by Sity was amazing. From breakfast pancakes till the delicious dinners. She also accepted us in the kitchen and showed how she cooks this delicious meals.||The staff took really good care of us. They accepted us as family! We were hanging every day and night, singing, dancing, talking about life haha :D. Dives there were amazing (I must add that Una Una has the best dive sites in the world).||There are also animals in the bedrooms, but you need to accept that, you are on the edge of the rainforest. And it is the same evereywhere in the tropics (except in the 10star resorts on Bali<-disgusting).||||They also have cute dogs who love to play and cuddle!||||I would really highly recommend this resort to everyone (except to the spoiled western people, stay at home!).||In the end I would like to thank again to the staff, especially to Sity, Jeffrey and Mus.
