I like to thank Ms.Pressie and Leeon for the hospitality that they gave to me and my family on last night (Monday)When we walked in we got an warm welcome from Mr.Dan and his wife.He got us all set up for mini golf and I tell you what this was a challenge mini golf game. The kids really enjoyed themselves and the adults. We had to bring my nephew here because we didn't make it last year and plus he's going back to school in Africa on Monday. Mermaid Dream Ice Cream Shop is amazing you can get milkshakes, sundae, banana splits and so much flavors to choose from. The two young ladies was great and they patience with the kids. This place is amazing, the staff is amazing this place is a gem to be seen.Great place to go for a girl's night out, church event, family gathering etc. Don't forget about the Candy Shop it's amazing all kinds of different candies you can think of.When you finish shopping in the Candy shop move over to the arcade and play some games. The kids loved the arcade and the adults favorite was Ms.Pac-Man all time favorite. This place is the best and I want to say thank you again from me and my family we had a blast. You guys rock!

Great golf course. We have been vacationing in Myrtle Beach for years but had never been to Cherry Grove nor knew the Black Pearl was there. It's definitely a place to visit. Putt putt golf, candy shop, arcade, and hand dipped ice cream. We will definitely come back again next vacation.

Google
Great little mini golf course. Clean and well-maintained challenging course. Went on a Monday evening and not crowded at all. $12 per person and half off a 2nd round if you choose. BONUS: Super awesome candy shop and arcade attached. They have every candy imaginable. This little gem is a must if you're looking for a fun round of mini-golf with the family.

Google
Great mini golf. Challenging and fun. We played at night and it was very well lit. Keep an eye out for the tiny alligator in the water. lol. And don’t forget to get an ice cream after a round of 18 holes.

Google
Has 1 18-hole mini-golf course, an ice cream shop, a candy shop, and an arcade! Most of the holes are pretty unique and have lots of twists, turns, and verticality.

Google
We discovered this place our first night in town and came back everyday of our stay. Mini golf, ice cream, candy store and an arcade- what more could you want?! The place is so clean, updated, reasonably priced and FUN. You could tell it’s family owned and everyone was so nice! We came back for my twins birthday and they got a free golf ball and ice cream. The mini golf was a fun course with lots of picture opportunities and seating throughout the course. The arcade was just enough for us and my kids were excited to spend the tickets they earned. They have every type of candy and the ice cream was delicious. Perfect place for any age. We can’t wait to come back the next time we are in town!

Was a fun experience with siblings could have been more challenging but very good for pre teen and young teen crowd.

Google
One of the best places to go for mini golf while in any part of Myrtle Beach. While it is tucked away way up in Cherry Grove, it is worth the drive. Great course layout with many hole in one opportunities, kids love the entire course, and maybe one of the best finishing holes (I may be a little biased since I got a hole in one here) on the Strand! Then head inside for some one of a kind ice cream, buy something from the candy store, and rack up some high scores in the arcade. My kids make this is a must do every trip to the beach, and I love it!

Yelp
Super fun experience! We went with a group of 5 with another keeping score. We had so much fun on the golf course and we loved the Pirate theme, large animals, water features, and caves. Almost all of us got at least one hole in one, and we loved going at night since it was all lit up. It wasn't very busy so we didn't feel too rushed. There's a large candy shop, ice cream shop, gift shop, and arcade there as well and it was in walking distance from both our beach house and the beach itself. Prices were reasonable $12 per adult, $10.50 per child.

Yelp
I have been to multiple locations throughout Myrtle Beach and this is by far one of the best! Will be coming back again!!!

Yelp
My family came here for mini golf on a super hot, over 90 degree day... and had an amazing time. There are a few reasons for this: 1. There's a bench with an umbrella at every hole! This was unexpected but definitely came in handy when we got tired or super hot from being outside in the heat. 2. There's an arcade inside. Once the kiddos got hot and tired, we were able to go inside and play a few games! This meant that we able to extend our fun even though we were done with the mini golf. The best thing about this is there's something for everyone. Somehow the setup is way more than meets the eye. There were way more holes than I expected in mini golf and so many more arcade games that kept both my 2 year olds and teenager busy. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Make sure you call and check their hours, Showed up and they close an hour earlier than listed anywhere online. Candy and arcade part was okay
google avatar

Yelp
Fun family experience if you are in Cherry Grove. Nothing spectacular about it. The game flowed. Best part. Ice cream immediately after playing 18 holes.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a great time at this mini-golf course. It's your traditional vacation mini-golf with different types of holes with a variety of hazards and obstacles. The course has a pirate ship that actually has a hole that you play on the ship. The course is well-manicured with a variety of plants. We enjoyed the game. The building where you pay also houses an amazing candy shop and arcade. Also on the property is a cute ice cream shop.
google avatar

Kaylee P.

Yelp
Nice fun course, a big candy store, and lots of ice cream options all in one place. The course was a lot of fun and nicely kept.
google avatar

Lorren P.

Yelp
What a fun day! We had family in town and we enjoyed the simple activity and spending time with each other. The course was fun and filled with adventures. My children loved the decor- who doesn't love a pirate giraffe? The cost was very reasonable- $11 for an adult is great! This could easily be a great date night as well. The course was clean, well maintained and we visited a two weeks after a hurricane.
google avatar

Kathleen L.

Yelp
Best place for mini golf and ice cream in town! Clean. Friendly. Friendly staff. We will be back!

Barbara K.

Yelp
Family went with ages 5 to 73. Great course. We have done many in the area and all agreed that this is one of the best

Yelp
Fun place for a family to spend the evening. Afterwards we enjoyed delicious ice cream at the Mermaid's Dream (that is attached to Black Pearl) Will make this an annual stop to our Beach Week.

Yelp
This mini golf course used to be an eyesore, but it's so nice now! It's really well maintained, as is the store/arcade. All of us really enjoyed the 18 holes and one of them had a little challenge wheel that made things even more fun. I will note that some of the steps are uneven, so little ones or anyone with mobility issues may have trouble.

Yelp
This place was absolutely amazing! The manager Shannon was so much fun and she was so nice to my kids. The miniature golf course itself was so cool the whole place and everything was really really clean. That part might be weird but after being stationed in Japan that's a big deal to me! Just a really great time!!
google avatar

Meleah S.

Yelp
We absolutely love this place! Especially one of the employees Ashlyn! She is always so sweet and friendly with the biggest smile on her face! She remembers customers and makes you feel so special! Our son absolutely adores her! We continue to come back specifically to see her! Amazing customer service and so fun!

Christine A.

Yelp
We came to NMB for a quick family getaway and loved our visit to Black Pearl. Mini golf was great and Shannon was fabulous and responsive in the ice cream shop!

Teri R.

Yelp
Went on Saturday around 3! No line or wait to play mini golf! The staff was very friendly and everyone who wasn't busy was cleaning- very Covid friendly! There is not much of a Arcade at all if your looking for games prob. Not a go to place....but golf The course is fun overall. The greens where a bit beat up and uneven...also the walk in some areas is a bit uneven and could prove to be a issue for older/young players! But that is All very well marked! The ice cream was a huge hit! The kid Sunday was about 4$ and well worth it! The ice cream shop was clean, inviting and fresh! Over all we would come back!
google avatar

Yelp
There's a reason this place is named The Black Pearl, like this ship their customer service sunk long ago. They were rude, no way to make Togo ice cream order, after I said it was togo. Don't go down with the ship, go somewhere else!
google avatar

Landon N.

Yelp
They have good ice cream and a nice putt putt course. The price is 10 for adults and 8 for kids age 10 and under. You guys should for sure try out the mer-milkshakes.
google avatar

Fay P.

Yelp
This mini golf course is so fun! The holes are interesting and reasonably challenging. The staff here is amazing! The premises is clean and they are taking great care during covid. Loads of candy, video games, and ice cream here, too! And they're open late, which makes for a great way to have family fun well into the night at the beach!

Matthew N.

Yelp
The course was very nice and me and my three other best buds enjoyed it a ton, but the people in front of us, oh man let me tell you. Our party had four of us and the group ahead of us had 8. Think they would let us play through ? No shot. I don't know where they're from but they obviously haven't been put putting for nearly as long as us (1999 national champ). Playing Through: When you let the group behind you play the hole you're on so they don't have to wait for you to be done. So frustrated right now

Yelp
My family's favorite spot to putt-putt, play a few arcade games, and get a cone of ice cream. We always play earlier in the afternoon/ evening. During peak season, this place gets really crowded around 8pm. Always clean!!!!! Extremely family friendly!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Worth driving towards north Myrtle to place other courses that have better decorations, hole layout, and maintenance.

Joe M.

Yelp
What a great place. Shannon and Ashley were welcoming and fun. If you come to Myrtle beach you must stop by here.
google avatar

Jason T.

Yelp
The course is poorly maintained and the customer service was lackluster. In a town full of putt-putts, go somewhere else.

Don S.

Yelp
The Black Pearl used to have the best arcade in Myrtle Beach. We would go every single night as a family and spend a lot of money their, and it was always packed. As we pulled in, the place was dead with plenty of parking space. When we walked in we were distraught, the arcade was taken over by a candy shop. There is a SMIDGEN of the shop that is an "arcade" there are maybe 10 machines. There is a candy shop EVERY SINGLE CORNER OF MYRTLE. Black Pearl, you killed a family classic. You killed a family tradition and something that people look forward to every year when going to the beach. You killed my childhood, and you killed the nostalgia, and the BEST arcade in Myrtle.

Erin W.

Yelp
Great place to take the kids!! Plenty of room for golfing and an arcade to play in afterward!!

Yelp
This review is more solely for the arcade, but we came here during our vacation on 5/5/2016. My dad and his friend went to play some mini golf while I lurked around for some arcade action. Staff was pretty friendly. A manager greeted me with heart when the arcade was nearly empty. However, I asked a female cashier if they have wi-fi, and she said that she wasn't allowed to give out her password. Why? I don't want to suck up my phone data. :P The arcade, however, is not my favorite one in the MB area. A good bit of the games don't work properly, and get this: most of the old racing games from the '90s still cost $1 to play (in quarters, not tokens). $1 to play Daytona USA (from 1994), and $1.50 to play Sega NASCAR (from 2000). There are also a few pinball machines: Terminator 3 (Stern), Dr. Who (Bally) and No Fear (Williams); they're all in average condition. I don't think it's a bad place to go play golf at all; the courses look beautiful and inviting. But as for the arcade, you'd be doing yourself a favor at other arcades.

Yelp
I have been to so many putt-putt places at Myrtle Beach and they honestly are all pretty similar. Unfortunately, this place has obviously changed hands a few times, and has seriously suffered for it. First of all, its not handicapped (stroller) accessible--which is reasonable if you post signs saying such. We made it work, but we probably would've used the carrier for my nephew instead if we would've known the stroller was going up and down steps. Second, all of the areas of the greens around the holes need to be redone. Every one of them has a 3 foot circle around the hole that is weirdly banked, like the concrete hasn't been laid flat. General maintenance has suffered as well. Most of the greens do not have a tee off mat. One hole is at the bottom of a ramp and you can see that water runs down and pools into the entire area near the hole. The hole itself was completely filled with water. My brother joked "2 strokes and a free ball wash", when calling out his score. There are also several holes that the bottom is either busted out or the grate is missing. You could barely tap the ball and if it hit the aide of the cup just right it would bounce right back out (not from overkill!) Or you would find yourself digging your ball out of the dirt that was under the hole. Also, I have never experienced a mosquito issue quite like this at a putt-putt course. (And I have played many, many times in several states) I'm not sure if it is because of the pooling water or if they just don't ever spray. We pretty much had to swaddle my nephew in a muslin blanket in 85 degree weather for protection while the rest of us swatted and scratched ourselves. There are also some strange decor choices that don't really affect the play, but I'd say painting a giraffe black with little pirate decals does not turn it from safari to pirate themed. The arcade was plentiful with choices on the inside, though they don't appear to get much play. Not the worst course I've ever played, but I wouldn't choose to go back.

Rachel N.

Yelp
Honestly this place is amazing. The ice cream is amazing and the staff are super friendly. Huge store you can get things in and an arcade, on top of putt putt! Best coarse around by far. Highly recommend.

Yelp
It looked really fun but my son and husband was not able to play mini golf it was too packed and such a long wait!!!! A wait line! Anyways they left and tried another place. But maybe some other time we will try this place because it appeared cool and fun. Next time we come back to Myrtle Beach we are heading home to Massachusetts

Angela N.

Yelp
We love going to The Black Pearl! It's a yearly tradition for us. They have renovated the inside and it looks great! The ice cream is fresh and delicious!! You definitely need to stop by there if you are in the NMB area. Everyone there is so friendly!!
google avatar

Tierney G.

Yelp
My family really enjoyed this course! The holes were very fun, and the decor made the course really beautiful and fun! Except for the heat during our game, this was probably the best one we've been to yet! We also really enjoyed the ice cream right next door so we could get ice cream after the game! I regret not bringing any change so I could play some of the arcade games too!

Keith W.

Yelp
I'm not a miniature golf afficianado or anything, but this is the best place my family has played in the area. It's a little off the beaten path on Highway 17, so doesn't seem to me to be as crowded as some of the others. The quality of the course is good, and my young kids enjoy the animal statues and the pirate ship. We played last winter, and several of the holes needed repair, but this seems to have now been completed. A bonus is the game arcade inside the clubhouse - great for young kids to blow some of mom and dad's money, and to cool off after being out on the course.

Yelp
Cash only and rude, unhelpful employees if you dont have cash. Turned out there was an ATM just outside the entrance but didnt notice that until i had gone back to the apartment and back. Lots of fun gone here for years, great for the kids. $7.50 for all day play until 6pm

Jeff B.

Yelp
This place has its pros and cons. They kindly accept cash and travelers' checks, yes travelers' checks still exist, so don't bother bringing plastic. The holes are somewhat interesting, and the fish stench and burnt-out lighting make it nice and challenging. And there's some real local flavor ("You get away from dem ducks or Ima show those folks what real parentin' is!" said the kind mother in the foursome behind us). A fun, dated arcade awaits after a solid 18, as well as an ice-cream stand. Overall, it was actually pretty fun, but come prepared.

John W.

Yelp
My friend and I took the time to wander over to this mini golf/arcade and paid for an hour of mini golf and a few arcade games. The course was poor at best due to poorly maintained carpet, etc. They even had the nerve to have our cars towed as we left them in the parking spaces next to my friends' condo when there were no other cars in the lot. Poor business decision and ended up in a frustrating next day for us. So, needless to say several reasons we won't be going back. Good luck to anyone who takes their chance with this place.

Laurie A.

Yelp
Sadly, this mini golf course has gone downhill over the years and is no longer a place I would spend my time and money. I have probably been to Black Pearl ten times over the years on annual beach trips. Here are the pros: friendly enough staff, very convenient for the Cherry Gove area, fun arcade, nice to get a scoop of ice cream after! Cons-the course is in poor shape and needs a LOT of maintenance. Sad, as this has been such a pleasant place in the past. The major issues is that a huge number of lights were burned out, so much so that several holes were near impossible to see. Luckily we had flashlights on our cell phones to use. Second, the paint used on the sidewalks is slippery, and since it's been rainy, was very slick, to a point of unsafe. This course is not accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, or folks with mobility issues. Also, missing signs, and other general maintenance needed. Cost is $12 in the evening--way overpriced given how poorly the course is maintained. 11 and up is considered "adult", which is absurd.

Shane D.

Yelp
Great ice cream great putt putt and awesome customer service. We asked for two kids to play the arcade one night at ten pm and the owner said if you are playing I will stay open til you are done. See the owner he is great.

Mick C.

Yelp
I joined Yelp specifically to write this review and reviews of other miniature golf courses in Myrtle Beach, where I'm on vacation for the first time. I am an avid mini-golfer, having played now in 20 different states. Black Pearl could be so much better than it is. It has some challenging holes and some whimsical ones, and the challenge level was just right for a family-- my 10-year-old liked it. Honestly, the biggest issue is the condition of the course. Several of the greens are very dirty and frayed. One hole had a painted zebra which was badly weathered and chipping, showing multiple layers of paint with mismatched stripes. One hole was full of dirty water. One hole was a drain that only held the ball because someone (I presume an employee) had crammed a scrunched-up empty Mountain Dew bottle in the bottom of the hole. The pirate ship interior, which houses the 12th hole, is covered in graffiti and has lots of spider webs (not part of the decor). There is a lot of debris. The arcade looks nice and there is an ice cream parlor, so the other amenities seem better taken care of. They have clearly just let the miniature golf course go, though.

Kevin P.

Yelp
Good family fun! We had a blast on a hot day on our last day of vacation. It does seen a little run down, but it works. Would like to have seen more obstacles at each hole; usually an small incline. Arcade is dated and dirty. A little cleaning of the course & arcade maintenance would improve the appearance.
