The Black Pearl offered the perfect place to stay for our visit to Reykjavik. Our experience booking the room was seamless. They responded promptly to inquiries before we arrived re luggage storage since most flights from the US arrive early in the morning before rooms are ready. Our room was very spacious, clean, well equipped, and comfortable. We were extremely pleased with how quiet the room was. The hotel is close to everything, with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. However, we never heard any noise at night. The front desk staff could not have been more helpful. One of our group fell on a tour and broke her rib. They were able to get her a cab to the hospital to get checked out and then directed her to a nearby pharmacy to have her prescriptions filled. The hotel is an excellent choice and provided very good value.

We absolutely loved our 3 days at Black Pearl. The apartments are very spacious, modern, and clean. It immediately felt like our home away from home. It is very reasonably priced when you consider the large bedroom, living area, bathroom, and kitchen/dining area. Well equipped for cooking or just bringing takeaway home to eat. The location is fantastic as well and within walking distance of everything in the tourist district. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. I would 100% recommend staying here!!!

I would stay here again without hesitation. The hotel's location is ideal for tourists. It is within walking distance of many city highlights. We visited in June, 2025. The Black Pearl accommodated our 8 family members in two spacious apartments, each with its kitchen. Apartments are very clean with upscale, modern decor and furnishings. Kitchen amenities include tea and coffee, a full range of appliances, and utensils. The king-size bed was very comfortable. Check-in was a breeze. The front desk clerk spoke English with ease. She was pleasant and very helpful. We had rented a large van to carry us around Iceland, and we were able to reserve a parking space ahead of time in the secure garage. Maneuvering the van in the garage space was tight. An elevator (lift) made it easy to take our luggage from the street-level garage to our apartments. I recommend the Black Pearl Luxury Apartments highly.

Except for one big issue, we absolutely loved our stay at the Black Pearl in Reykjavik. The room was spacious and clean, the staff was helpful, and the location in downtown Reykjavik is perfect. The only reason I am not giving the review five stars is for their misleading room description. We booked a Deluxe Suite because we have two children that each need their own bed. The room description states that "These modern apartments come with a comfortable kingsize bed and a double and a roll away bed in the living room." This clearly indicates that the room comes with three beds. However, upon arrival at the hotel, we were informed we would need to pay an additional 375 Euros for the rollaway bed because we did not have five people in the room, and that bed is apparently only given for a fifth guest. This charge is not mentioned on the website, it was not mentioned when we booked the room and informed the hotel there would be four people in it, and we could not get into our room without paying it. I argued against the charge, even bringing up the room description on my phone, but the hotel would not budge. After an overnight flight, everyone was exhausted and our children needed to get some sleep, so I had no choice but to grudgingly pay the charge. I would give this hotel five stars were it not for the additional fee that was forced upon us when we arrived. It was a very unpleasant way to begin what was otherwise a wonderful trip to Iceland.

The Black Pearl was the most beautiful stay we had our whole Iceland trip! The hotel was centrally located, could walk to anything, easy access, great views, and friendly customer service. I would highly recommend. It was pricey, but you get what you pay for. The only irritation was the guest bathroom shower leaked water all over the floor. It was pretty hard to shower as well as the stall was tiny and the doors kept opening. Otherwise, we LOVED it!

It’s rare that I write a review half way through a stay but that shows the esteem in which I hold Black Pearl Luxury Apartments. We return from a day of touring, sightseeing and all we feel when we enter our immaculately clean apartment is complete relief. It’s not a hotel room, there is ample space for us to spread out and relax, genuinely that home from home feeling.||Reception staff are super helpful and cleaning staff are brilliant, it’s spotless every time. Too many places use the word luxury when they are not - Black Pearl is fully justified in using it.

Plenty of room, Lots of amenities, very nice and helpful staff. All we needed was a fan, and they may have had one, we just didn't ask. The room was cool enough but being from Texas air movement is what we are used to. We will definitely book this place when we come back.

The room was beautifully designed, modern, and incredibly spacious. It features a digital system to control lighting and temperature, making it very convenient to adjust settings with just a touch. Kitchen: Fully stocked with high-quality appliances, cookware, and utensils. The large refrigerator was a plus, offering plenty of storage space and even an ice maker. Bathroom: Strong water pressure with consistent hot water, making showers very comfortable. The building provides private parking (with a fee), which made it easy and safe to bring in luggage. However, parking spots are limited, requiring an advance reservation. Minor things for improvement: The mini bar took up a lot of space in the fridge, leaving less room for personal items. The bathroom lighting was a bit too dim, making it less ideal for tasks like applying makeup or shaving. The rain shower head dispersed water too widely. The exit from the parking area lacks clear signage, which sometimes leads to cars blocking the way. We faced one blocking by other guests who were checking-in.
