Black Prince Winery & Canadian Vinegar Cellars featuring Barrel House Wood-Fired Pizza + County Disc Golf

The place is quite cute, and they offer a wide variety of pizzas. The pizzas are wood-fired, and there’s even a vineyard behind the restaurant. The staff in the wine area are really friendly. They also have a nice combo — one pizza and one glass of wine for a reasonable price. The pizza takes about 10 minutes to come out. Everything was great. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in PEC.

Had a great time sampling wine and vinegar. What a cool place. Love the pizza oven. Never thought I'd like sampling vinegars but it was great and we bought a few bottles! Wonderful service, highly recommend it!

I’ve been several times now and purchase both wine and their amazing vinegars. It’s my go to place to bring family and friends when visiting PEC. Friendly unpretentious servers with a wealth of knowledge. Wood fired pizza and disc golf available. Lots of seating.

Such a wonderful experience. We tasted the wines and vinegars I have to say. The wines are really good but the vinegars are over the top. Marty and I bought wine and vinegar. Then we had a wonderful fire wood meat lovers pizza. Absolutely delicious. A must place to visit.

Absolutely love their vinegars, free tasting and they make the best dressings. Come all the way from Toronto to buy them. We didn’t try their wines this time. Dog friendly patio area.

Two friends and I visited the Black Prince Winery today and had a great experience! We had the pleasure of being served by Evan for our Wine tasting and he made it so fun! He was knowledgeable in the wines and a great conversationalist! We would definitely come back based on our experience today!

I only had the wine tasting and didn't try the pizza. The favorite wine that I tried was the cabernet franc. I like it so much that I purchased a few bottles home.

We had a pleasant day on September 7th - our anniversary. I wanted to do SOMEthing to celebrate the landmark anniversary; yes, it is true: 35 years married! With COVID, it has been difficult to celebrate the occasions that have arisen, but now the restrictions are slightly eased, although you still have to wear a mask (hence the armour with the face mask over the face). So, our answer was a road trip to Belleville for lunch with Step Mom (thanks for coming out! That was great to celebrate in person!) at a restaurant we had not tried yet, in the south end; not as busy as downtown. After lunch, we parted ways with Step Mom, and drove, and drove and drove... and ended up in Prince Edward County - where we were directed to by the CAA in Belleville to visit the wine trail. Ok - truth here: we're going to have to spend a few days or a week on this trail! There's such a lot to see!! We ended up stopping at a microbrewery to pick up a 6 or 8-pack, then found this Winery. They were pretty close together so that was easy. I picked up a bottle of wine. My only disappointment was that we didn't get to try the wine before choosing it. They offer samplings for a nominal fee (was it $5?), which would be refunded if you bought a bottle of wine. Wines offered were in the $25 range. For a change, I chose a white wine, although I usually prefer red. The winery is quite pretty! There's a lot going on here, and I can imagine it would be quite the place, hopping with energy, prior to COVID restrictions. I will keep tabs on this spot and further restrictions, and possibly update my review once I've tried the wine. Thanks for the blissful day!

This was our first stop in PEC for a mini wine tour. It's probably the smallest one we visited, but they had quite the selection. Their Pinot Gris was my favourite... light, refreshing and easy drinking. In addition they had a nice selection of vinegars as well, if you are into it.

Highly recommend the wood-fired pizza and wine here. We came here because it is near our Airbnb and we bought a gift certificate from Costco. We did our homework and ordered the wood-fired pizza that is highly recommended online. The pizza and 2 cups of wine combo cost about $29. When you think about it, it is expensive; however, it is definitely worth it. One of the best pizza I have eaten. It has nice patio outside for you to eat pizza and drink the wine. Also, the wine here is very good. I am not a wine expert and I don't drink a lot of wine here, but according to my husband, the wine here is better. It does not have the bitter and spicy tastes some wine has. We got 2 tasting cards from our Airbnb host and we had free wine tasting here. I love the Mary Jane (a type of red wine) the best and we bought one home. $100 wine would only cost you $80 if you buy a gift certificate from Costco. So in the end, we took 4 bottles home. This place also sells vinegar as well. The vinegar bottle looks like ice wine, it costs around $30/bottle. This place is very busy. We came in around 4 on a Saturday in September and the parking lot is packed. When we drove by this place, it is usually packed. So I could imagine how busy it is in summer. Tip #1: try the pizza and wine here. Tip #2: get a gift certificate from Costco (note: the gift certificate only applies to bottled wine. It does not apply to pizza or vinegar) Highly recommend this place if you are visiting the Prince Edward County.

Heading from Toronto to the 1,000 Islands, I wanted to stop at a winery. I asked the hotel's front desk clerk for a recommendation and she quickly printed information about Black Prince in Prince Edward County. It was a bit of a hike off 401, but it was worth it nonetheless, as I was able to have a nice chat with the welcoming tasting room host and got to try some pretty interesting varieties of northern wines! If you come here, you must-must try the "Mary Jane's Magical Hemp Wine." I *had* to purchase a bottle! It's like no wine you'll ever taste. I can't even describe it. I'm bad at describing wine to begin with with anything other than "It's good" or "I like it!" -- but this one is exceptional. I also bought a maple oak blend of Chardonnay, which was a standout, and tried the Gewurztraminer and Vidal Icewine during my visit and enjoyed both selections as well! The only bummer was that they didn't have any souvenir glasses! I would've loved to add to my ever-growing etched glasses cabinet, but ah, oh well. If you're in the area, you should definitely make a stop at this winery!

Had an excellent visit at this winery. Matt, was fantastic and personable. If you go on the right day, you can even see the barrel barn. They have some unique wines for the area. They also sell their vinegar which are worth a try if you're into cooking or dressings with vinegar.

Stopped by the Black Prince today. Oh dear. Interior was dated and not well maintained. Wine selection was so so and we didn't find anything that we loved. There are so many great wineries in the areas- it seems a shame to waste time stopping off here. Next time I will keep driving!
