Black Rock Pizza is the best on the island.!! We have tried 5 other places and this has been the best by far. We tried the BLP up in Captain Cook last time here and it was delicious too. From now on when visiting the Big Island we won’t bother with the other pizza places again. We ordered online and it was ready to go when we got there. Eazy peazy…

Black Rock Pizza Kona had the absolute best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend it. My husband loved the regular pizza as well. It was pleasant sitting out on the patio.

Best pizza I've had in my life . The Classic pizza is sooo good. It's what pizza supposed to taste like. Everytime we visit kona we eat pizza atleast 3 times 🫠 my husband loves the Pepperoni rolls. Everything tastes amazing and their staff are always very friendly. They did make a mistake on my order last time, they gave it to someone else on accident and I had to wait longer but it was 100% worth it. I already miss it 😔 nothing I've tried in San diego compares.

Manhattan resident here. This is amazing pizza. Order it. The ham, pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeno one is the empty box picture. It was devoured much too immediately to have been photographed. The Greek salad was 🔥 and the dressing appropriately light. The Greek pizza was also delightful. The delivery was professional and prompt. Thanks guys

We had their Garlic Breadsticks and the Da Greek pizza, and both dishes completely exceeded our expectations. The garlic breadsticks were incredibly soft and pillowy, with a wonderful buttery garlic flavor that melted in the mouth. The accompanying dip was equally delicious, creamy, flavorful, and served generously enough to enjoy with every piece. The Da Greek pizza was truly exceptional. As a big fan of feta cheese, this pizza was an absolute treat for me. The tangy, salty feta paired perfectly with the fresh, vibrant toppings, creating layers of flavor in every bite. Each slice felt like a little celebration for my taste buds, and I absolutely savored it from start to finish.

We read very good reviews so we decided to eat here. People who were making Pizza were nice. The girl who was taking care of the tables was good. Only the girl who was behind the till was very rude and blunt. Very bad customer service. Just the good food cannot justify the whole experience or review of a place. It’s a combination of excellent customer service and good food. I hope she can provide a better service to others who are visiting from far away and waiting to try this place.

Stopped by the new Black Rock Pizza on Kona and was really impressed. I ordered the medium “Kona Waui” pizza and a slice of cheese — both were excellent. The Kona Waui had a perfect balance of flavors, crispy crust, and fresh toppings that made it really stand out. The cheese slice was classic, but done right — hot, cheesy, and satisfying. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick even though they were pretty busy. It did take some time for us to get the check though. Nice, clean space with a laid-back vibe. Definitely a welcome addition to the area. I’ll be back to try more from the menu!

Great place, just a few steps up from the water off Ali'i Drive. Probably the best just classic pizza in town (all due respect to Kona Brewing). Tons of topping choices, truly legit. Take out available, people are really nice. We walked in on a rainy night just before closing. They could easily have turned us away but instead were super chill and took our order, didn't make us feel rushed or like we were an inconvenience at all. There are a few tables outside, no seating inside (as I recall). But the pizza is so good. We just walked it back to our rental and enjoyed there. Overall highly recommended!

Food was good but not amazing. But service is a total joke. Walk in and were told 90 minute wait. We decided not to order because we didn't have that long to wait. The next night we called ahead and AI answered the phone. Took 3 times as long to navigate the AI and ultimately wasn't able to order exactly what I wanted but close enough I guess. We got to the restaurant at the time and were told and texted from the restaurant. We were told it takes 30 minutes for the order to go through and then is 90 minutes after that. So we wait, 30 minutes more, still no order. We are told "just coming out of the over" three times. As we watch the employees who were just happy to turn people away because the wait is too long. Literally they didn't want people to order. This was 2 nights in a row. Don't waste your time, and believe me, they will WASTE YOUR TIME.

Great pizza at a great price! Pepperoni pizza - fair amount of slightly but not too greasy pepperonis with sweet sauce and tasty crust. We added pineapple and loved that it was fresh (although probably should had asked for double)! Also added mozzarella cheese which is a must. The crust was pleasantly tasty as well. Highly recommend! 5 stars! Caesar salad - good amount of parm, tomatoes and croutons with a tasty Caesar dressing on crisp chopped romaine. We added blue cheese and were impressed by the quality and quantity. 5 stars. We scarfed it up so fast I didn't have time for photos! Also loved the ease of AI and online ordering - brilliant way to pass cost-savings on to customers. Anytime we're craving pizza on the islands we'll definitely be coming here!

Preference is always to support local businesses where I can. Decided to check this place out while in Big Island. They have good options to choose from, variety and sizes. Service however lacked. Our orders were messed up when we substituted veggies. Veggie pizza was extremely soggy barely able to pick the slice to eat it. Inside the restaurant is fun with signs that make you laugh. Overall ok experience.

We tried Black Rock Pizza and were blown away! The pizza crust alone was worth the visit -- garlicky, flavorful, and perfectly baked. We ordered the Hoi Boi pizza with kalua pork and swapped the base sauce for BBQ for the whole pie since the other half was pepperoni. That sweet and smoky BBQ flavor paired so well with both toppings -- absolutely delicious! We went with a medium size, which worked out perfectly at about three generous slices per person. Great flavors, friendly service, and a crust that keeps you wanting "just one more bite." We'll definitely be coming back!

Black Rock Pizza was recommend to us from a recent traveler. We had been craving pizza so decided to try. Beings we are not familiar with the area. It was a little bit difficult to determine what location to go to.We ended up at 75-5813 ALII DR #H, Coconut Grove, KAILUA-KONA location. I wanted to call and order in once we determine the location and when I called I got AI chatbot! I asked if there was free parking. Ai chat bot said yes there was. Had to mention I couldn't get a real person to order a pizza from. It was a little bit difficult to find from the highway tucked in a little shopping area. In the parking lot are signs for all paid parking by QR code and there is a parking attendant around checking everybody's car!! We left and found street parking and walked back. You can sit outside and be waited on or order from the counter to go. I can't remember if there were any tables inside to dine at. The employee at the counter was very kind and helpful. She gave me recommendations when I asked about various menus items. We ended up ordering a large pizza for 2 only because we wanted leftovers to take to the beach the following day. Honestly, a medium would've been perfect. We settled on the classic combo minus green peppers minus olives add fresh pineapple, and ham. The fresh pineapple just took it to another level!! As I was waiting for the pizza to be made, I was looking at the pictures of different items and I seen these chicken pesto bacon rolls, so I ordered as well. They were soooo good! It came with a pesto dipping sauce. Baked to perfection oozing with goodness! Something different, and really good! The pizza was really good too! We have not had a good tasting quality pizza in a long time. Everything from the crust to the sauce to the toppings. If you get the large I'd ask them to cut it into additional slices. The slices on the large were just a lil too big for our liking. 16in. So probably 8 large slices. If you're looking for a good pizza on the island, this is the place! However, I might just be going back just for those pizza roll type things. I can't get over how good they were. The big island balls looked really good too..Check out all the menu options. Reasonably priced dining/take-out. Get rid of the Ai chat bot that takes phone calls. They give bad information. And nobody wants to talk to one. They'd like to talk to a real person. Everything else 10/10

Can't go wrong with a pepperoni pizza. Garlic crust is so good. Doesn't take that long to cook the pizza. Outdoor seating online.

I am hesitant to say this is the best pizza I've ever had, but it really might be!!!!!!!! We ordered the Hoi Boi and ohhhh my gosh. You could taste every layer of flavor. The pork on its own was so juicy and sweet. This pizza is phenomenal hot or cold. We walked in on a Thursday night. They didn't have a lot of pre-sliced ones so we ordered a whole pizza. Sooooo glad we did. It was ready in about 15 min. 100% would recommend!

4 words: Chicken Bacon Pesto Rolls! You think, "oh yeah, that sounds good." But what you don't know is that they slap two pepperonis on the bottom, bake the pesto rolls and the pepperonis become seared to the bottom and are surrounded by crispy cheese and dough (yes, a ridiculous run on sentence). I could make a meal of these, but I am trying to have some restraint. You get a little of everything: yummy pesto, crisp pepperoni (a little fat with a little heat), crust and gooey cheese. You're already taking a vacation from your diet, a little more vacation from that vacation won't hurt.

If you see the bad reviews idk what they complaining about. I went here tonight and the pizza was fire af and the pesto rolls were solid. Anyways whoever made the few people's pizza below mines I feel bad. I really fw it

I would have liked it baked a bit more as it did not hold up. It's a decent pizza for the price. It's not crisp, you don't get the cheese pull.

The pizza here is good. It's not quite the best I've tried, but one of the best I've found on any island. I ordered take out, but there is also table service available. Parking can be validated by the business and is available right outside. (Located in coconut groove marketplace)

We ordered breadsticks and a pepperoni pizza on a whim for delivery one evening and were very happy! Delivery was quick (30 mins) and the food was hot! The breadsticks are large and garlicky. The pizza had a good amount of toppings and the crust was soft and crunchy at the same time! We wouldn't hesitate ordering again.

We stopped for some food and thought the service was really good . The girl taking the orders was so polite and friendly. Got my pizza but the ribeye rolls we ordered was never placed and we had to wait for them to be made . The manager who I believe was the one in charge was the one who forgot to put the order in and was not really apologetic about her mistake . She was also very rude and scolded the girl at the register in front of several people . I would definitely recommend however the so called one in charge on Tuesday evening needs to work on her management and customer service skills .

I'd been here once before and remembered liking it. The wait was about 45min but we weren't starving so that was fine. They give you a beeper so you can walk around the shopping center. The gal at the register was friendly and nice despite being so busy and they accommodated my request to sub mushrooms for meat since I'm vegetarian. However, both the pizza I ordered custom, and the "by the slice" we got was overloaded with sauce. Like 2-3x what most places would put on. I'm not sure if that was a fluke based on who was on shift but it was just too much. I don't remember this being an issue the last time we ate here though. The flavors of the pizza were good it was just too saucy for us.

Day 3 of Vacation - We came here to grab a quick snack after kayaking. My bf had this spot saved while doing research, so he was excited to try this. Parking: There is a paid parking lot, but we found free street parking. Ambiance/Environment: This spot is located in downtown. It's a very small place with no indoor seating and limited outdoor seating. Service: We didn't catch her name, but the cashier that assisted us was helpful. Throughput took a while after ordering. We received our order a little over 15 min. What we ordered: 1) Haupia Ube Cannoli - The shell was absolutely crunchy, and the ube flavor definitely came through! The coconut shavings did help bc the ube flavor could get overwhelming. Perfect sweet treat. 2) Hoi Boi - We got an 8" size for $16. Very pricey for such a small size. This pizza contained hoisin bbq, Kalua pork, jalapeños, pineapples, smoked mozzarella, & rock sauce drizzle. We really enjoyed this pizza; all the flavors went well together.

Hot , fresh ingredients . Legit handmade pizza and price is right. Will definitely be back

Black Rock Pizza... BLACK ROCK PIZZA!!!!!!! My Family and I just ate there tonight and it was awesome. Super friendly and courteous staff. The pizza, man they were excellent. We had an old school cheese pizza and the classic combo. This was our first time here and we were all starving after a full day at the beach, so we ordered the first two items we saw on the menu. The crust was perfect, and I mean perfect. Grew up in SF and still live in the Bay Area and we always patronize independent pizzerias and avoid the chains. If I was lucky enough to live here BRP would be my go to pizzeria! We highly recommend this pizzeria!

Nice place for some pizza on the go. They have 3 sizes and even the small one is substantial for an adult. They have unique flavors ones like Not so Hawaiian and of course the classic choices like pepperoni etc. I would recommend it for lunch since they don't serve alcoholic beverages and are closing at 8 PM. Staff was super friendly and the place large outdoor area to eat!

Best place to get pizza in town. The pizzas were fresh, hot, delicious, cheesy and flavorful! The pineapple slice was VERY delicious! I also tried my best to create a margherita, with tomatoes, sunrise tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. It came out nothing like margherita, but still delicious nonetheless lol.

Great little pizza joint! We came here twice this week and enjoyed great service and yummy pizza. Seating is exclusively outdoors and they do not serve alcohol but apparently you can BYO. They have an extensive menu with lots of specialty options highlighting Hawaiian influences. I ordered the Kona Waui -- ham, pepperoni, red onion, jalapeño, pineapple and mozzarella with red sauce. It was super Ono! Well balanced with the salty meats, the spice from the peppers and the sweetness and acidity from the pineapple.

Excellent pizza with home made dough and sauce, high quality cheese and toppings. Definitely will hit the spot if you're craving pizza! We dined in, and our server was very nice and attentive. The pizzas came out relatively quickly too even though they were busy. Outdoor seating only, but it's covered so it should be fine even if it's rainy. My only gripe is the high cost of parking at the shopping plaza and they're situated in. After taxes and fees, it cost $22.06 to park for 90 minutes! Other shops in the shopping plaza will validate your parking to get you free parking, but Black Rock Pizza for whatever reason won't validate your parking. A workaround is to go spend $10 at the ABC Store next door as they'll validate your parking for 90 mins if you spend $10 there. Maybe buy a few beers at the ABC Store since BRP doesn't serve alcohol. If it weren't for the parking situation, I would have rated them a 5/5 in a heartbeat!

We were a group of 11 so it was nice that they had enough seating for all of us. This location is kind of tucked in a little shopping center. I think they mentioned that if you spend more than $10 at the ABC store in the corner, you can get free parking for two hours. The server that attended us was very friendly and attentive. All the pizzas we tried were very delicious and unique. My favorite was the Moa Polu due to the sweet glaze and the Hoi Boi was my second favorite. All of the pizzas were made fresh and my entire group loved them all. We got to try at least one slice of each one.

If you want a really good pizza with an amazing view of the sunset followed by house made cannoli - this is your spot! We tried 4 different pizza, everybody loved their choice and the kids raved about the dessert. Can't beat the view while filling your belly with really good food! Perfect night out.

Pizza's were very tasty. Ample toppings and sauce. Dough was good. Service was great. Low key spot in an outdoor mall setting, very casual. We aren't sure but we suspect msg in the sauce, we all had msg mouth an hour later. We overall liked it.

On our first day vacationing in Hawaii, we were so tired from our flight. We needed something simple for dinner. Black Rock Pizza isn't fast because they make everything fresh, from scratch. Our appetizer didn't arrive until after we received our pizza. Seating is only outside so you're in for a long wait. This location is nestled in a shopping district next to a beach. Black Rock Pizza have unique pizzas and peculiar creations, like the "z'aco". Unlike the other location, this one does NOT serve alcohol (I don't drink anyway). Their individual pizza slices are huge, though. You're definitely going to need a to-go box after that.

I ordered the Mexican pizza to be delivered, the delivery service was great but the pizza was soggy and barely had any lettuce or tomato on it and it was too spicy and I even had the jalapeños left off of it.

Ordered pizza via Doordash and arrived 30+ minutes later (5 minutes after the expected time for pickup). When I said I was there for a pickup, the girl behind the counter laughed and said that because I had ordered Doordash, it would be another hour. I canceled the order and left. I after I did not receive a cancelation notice, I called the store and asked to cancel the order and receive a refund. The same person I spoke with in person, pretended to be a chat bot and then hung up on me. When I called back, she then pretended to be a chat other and transferred me to endless music. What a bunch of clowns.

We were out of towners looking for a great pizza to cap a long great day in Hawaii. I saw the BlacK Rock Pizza on a YouTube story about food on the Big Island. We got a basic large pepperoni and a side of their jalapeño poppers. Pizza was great, just how I like it. Great crust not too much sauce and quality toppings. The Jalapeño poppers aren't for the weak. They were big and filling. More like a meal. After half a large pizza I could hardly finish one. But they were amazing. If you're in the mood for some good pizza on the Big Island hit them up.good prices too,

Great pizza! A perfect location to relax and enjoy one of two of the best pizzas in Kona. They are the original pizza makers in the island. The service was fast and the food was delicious.

Pizza order for take out. Place does a good business and I asked is your pizza NY style? Cashier said yes, and I replied I like it crispy and charred would that be hard. My answer was not at all. I pre- paid and was flagged for a tip on the pickup of our pizza which I did. My pizza came looking not bad however, we didn't like the tangy sauce they had on it and the crust was doughy like focaccia bread. I understand some people have different tastes but it was so so overall. There's some outdoor seating and it's in the downtown Kona area.

Awesome food, great taste and good value. This is a much in Kona for pizza. The reviews and did not mislead and we ordered from black rock and will definitely be back.

Came here yesterday and we came back again today to get the same order ! Pizza is so fresh and soooo good. Me and my boyfriend are obsessed with how juicy and good the pineapple was. The garlic bread is huge and amazing too , def recommend ordering those as well. We loved our server Hailey, she is such a sweet soul and a great server. One of the added bonuses to why we came back! I hope the establishment appreciates her as much as we did! Definitely recommend sitting in her section as well. Music is great, and the outdoor sitting is very scenic and in a cute shopping center. Parking is great too !

We were looking for some great pizza after visiting Mauna Kea & stumbled across Black Rock Pizza on Yelp. We placed an order about 45 minutes before closing & arrived about 25 minutes before closing (what the exact time it was set for pick up)! We were super excited to try their pizza but when we went to try to pick up our Pizza they couldn't find it. Turns out we had placed the order at the wrong location! The a staff was super accommodating & so nice they made the order for us! We felt so bad but we're so thankful they were kind enough to help us out. The pizza was 10/10! We had their BBQ chicken pizza with pineapple and it was gone in minutes! Some of the best pizza we've had! We're very picky about our pizza too. Great friendly staff and in a great location too! Cannot wait to go back!

This was probably one of the yummiest meals we had on the Big Island! After seeing the high praise for this restaurant, we were all really eager to try. We were seated immediately at a table outside, and food came out pretty fast after we ordered. I was intrigued by the Hoi Boi but ultimately decided to get the local boy. It was absolutely fantastic! The crust, first of all, is thick and chewy and fresh, but still has a nice crisp and crunch to it. The pizza was topped with kalua pork, ham, mushrooms, onions, and was so so good. All the toppings were delicious and the sauce was also fantastic. A pizza I will remember for sure! We also tried the breadsticks, but I would say those can be passed on as they weren't anything too special. I would highly recommend dining here in your time at Kona! Super good food.

Well. This is it. The best pizza I've ever had. They have jokes all over their box, and one of them is "pizza so good you'll move here". It really is. The pizza sauce is so good. The toppings are good. The wait staff was nice, the vibe of the place is cool. I'd tried the captain cook location and was worried Kona wouldn't be as great. They are both perfect

Pizzas were awesome! We also had breadsticks and they were really good as well. We went back a few days later and got a quick slice for a hold over until dinner and it was fresh out of the oven. Quality ingredients and friendly!

The pizza sauce was amazing. We just got the sweet basil red sauce pepperoni pizza. Was staying in Kona for a weekend get away.... Was looking for something late night that was open found this place on Yelp. We also got the pepperoni rolls which were like mini homemade pizza pockets. We took it too go. We would definitely recommend and go back next time we're in town.

They are a great road side stop for a pie when you're on the road or when you want a loud bar/mainland style pizza place. However, their website is misleading (orders go to the wrong island! And I got double charged) I'm a local (18 years in Kona and Paia- two places they service) and I would think they'd want to keep the locals happy.. sorry guys. No can.

We saw they were rated well so we decided on going there, but when arriving, we were told they had ran out of cheese so we went elsewhere.

We're back again this year on vacation and had to see if Black Rock is still up to par. Wow! Loved the pizza & salad- and the great service by Kelly. This is an excellent pizza and we built our own custom meat lovers blending sausage, bacon, meatball & black olives. Crust was light & fluffy. Meat was great. Sausage had a bite but not spicy. Asked for "easy red sauce" and it was just right. Caesar Salad was great- loved the lettuce and dressing. All tables are outside but the weather is mostly great this time of year so that's fine. We'll be back!

Unfortunately, super over priced for the size. I got an 8 inch personal pizza with one dipping sauce that ended up being $20 after tip and tax! I was left hungry after, despite being told the personal pizza would be enough to fill me up (mind you, I don't have a huge appetite) My boyfriend got a lot of toppings with his but I felt like mine kind of lacked toppings and was way too heavy with cheese and white sauce. The white sauce was pretty much flavorless and I'm normally a huge fan of white sauce! The crust was really good and it was nice to have live music nearby. Also, the staff were really nice and friendly! Overall though, it just wasn't worth $20/person to leave hungry and unsatisfied

I was sad that we tried this restaurant on our last night on the Big Island. This was one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. The crust was so light and fluffy. We ordered a medium Kona Waui. They did NOT skimp out on the red sauce or the toppings. The jalapeños added so much flavor. I'm pretty sure that I would have picked up pizza more than once if we had tried this place earlier on our vacation. You place your order at the counter inside and they give you one of those hand held things that lights up when the pizza is ready. Tables are located outside. We were there on a Friday and we had a nice view of the live band playing.
