Amazing shoreline of rock formations, slopes and short cliffs, covered in pine trees, carpets of moss and flowering plants. There are shaded trails all through the woods and some gradual paths that lead down to the rocky beaches, covered in piles of mixed stones worn smooth by the waves. You can find long veins of quartz winding through the rocks with webs of tree roots winding along them. Almost every section of beach and trail are perfect for pictures. Some areas can be a little difficult to get up or down to, but the view can be enjoyed by everyone. Obviously use common sense when walking along drop offs and keep a close eye on your kids, and on where you step.

Black Rocks was one of the spots I’d been told countless times to visit while in the U.P. The views were breath taking. There’s plenty of parking. Perfect place to dive into the lake, hammock, picnic, and search for rocks.

Beautiful place, plenty of parking, plenty of picnic benches and sitting benches. Sunsets here are breathtaking, to say the least! Spend the whole day if you can!

Black Rocks is ideally set at the end of an isle that provides a panoramic view of Lake Superior. Great spot for bird watching, a jog or a bike ride, hiking around the rocks, or even some amateur "cliff" diving (a short jump, really). There's also a small cove here with a little pebble beach. Keep in mind that the road is closed to automobile traffic most of the week. You'll need to walk half a mile.

Very beautiful. Parking was crowded, but walking around the area was woth it. A bunch of people were jumping off the rocks - but we were not that adventurous / brave!

This place was an amazing little gem to find at the last minute, such beautiful scenery, well worth the trip. Rivals pictured rock in my opinion but way less busy.

Black rocks is a great location for a fun afternoon (in the summer). We really enjoyed jumping off the rocks as a family. The park also has a lot of areas to picnic and relax peacefully as well. The tricky part though is the parking at the ricks to jump in on back side (closer to the lake) of the park. There is one way in and out a bit a ton of space to turn around so be aware of that in advance.

Obviously a beautiful thrilling must-visit!!! 💎😍🔥 I came here specially to cliff jump the 4th of July. Perfect weather, clear ice cold water of Lake Superior! 🗻 The gates seemed closed when I arrived so I just parked on the far end and did the 10m walk. Great walk. Some pro tips! There are about 4 ways to get back up. The “easiest” is going back to its base near the beach. There’s a moderate one about 50ft from there. But the most common is the one maybe 50ft from the tip on the east side. It’s not clear until you walk up on the top but you can even walk down it to do the 1-2ft jump to psych yourself up! If you have good upper body strength simply put your arms parallel (elbows out) and push yourself up on the ledge closer to the base. You can swim further out to a triangle edge to this way up, there are easier footholds but thinner walking space once up. Otherwise it was insanely beautiful and lots of friendly people helping out and sharing information!! 🔥 Enjoy some of the b-roll and panoramic I got for your enjoyment :)
