Rooms are decent, assuming you have good roommates during your stay and if you have the top bunk probably. Bottom bunk is like a coffin, definitely no room to even sit up. Stayed here two instances, before and after doing the Kepler Track. Heads up for anyone who is doing something similar and has to leave early in the morning before reception hours: make sure luggage storage and early check-out procedures are discussed/taken care of beforehand. It was a little stressful finding out luggage storage access is only available during certain hours. Shout out to the staff member who helped me take care of things as I was en route to the trek. As for amenities/facilities, the bathrooms are definitely not the greatest. Stalls are pretty cramped, sinks are way too close together, not much room to really set your toiletries down. First floor bathroom also doesn’t have any private shower stalls so there’s really no room to place your things. Carpark bathroom is the best, second floor is alright, first floor would be my last choice. Biggest pro would be the location though. Super close to the town center, literally just down the road.

We stayed there for two weeks and had a really good time! Especially the staff is very friendly and it’s such a great place to connect with other people. Also the Hot tub is amazing and the location is perfect, close to town and the bus stop. The only thing I have to complain about is that the bottom bunk bed is way too low, you just do not have enough space there tbh. Everything else was great :)

I had an awesome stay at Blacksheep Backpackers and I just want to give a huge shoutout to Telisha. She was super friendly, easy to talk to, and always happy to help with anything I needed. Whether it was tips about the area or just a quick chat, she made the place feel really welcoming. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guests and enjoys her job. My stay was definitely better because of her. Highly recommend this place, especially thanks to staff like her!

The staff are welcoming, the location is good......and that's where the positives end. My biggest issue was the bathrooms; No hot water at 9.30pm. And I mean none. Nowhere to put OR hang anything when you're in the shower. Not a single hook. Once you step out of the shower, past the shower curtain you are in the main bathroom space. There's no cubicle door, no privacy, nowhere dry to put your clothes. Hand dryer not working. Three basins crammed into a tiny space - good luck if 3 people need to clean their teeth at the same time. And shiny ceilings so if anyone else in the bathroom looks up, they can see your reflection. (Creepy) You have to use an app to unlock your bedroom door, which is very slow and an inconvenience. Bedroom was ok. Bedding was cosy but if you're in the bottom bunk you can't even nearly sit up as the bed above is so low. Floor was quite squeaky, so was a bit noisy when people started moving around early in the mornings. The opening and closing times for various rooms/facilities at the hostel are all different - hard to keep track of where you are allowed/when. Seems odd to bother with having a sauna and spa pool if you can't even nail the basics first. Overall - you're better off spending the few extra dollars and staying at Haka House Lakefront.

Good location, friendly staff. Hand dryer did not work in downstairs bathroom. Kitchen, sauna, and laundry all had limited hours. The door to the dorm closed extremely slowly to a point, then slammed shut loudly, shaking the whole dorm. It was pretty mids. The pillows are completely flat, and the wifi was not reliable. In the showers, there are no hooks or shelves or anywhere to put your towel/clothes where they won’t get wet.

On one night our room was kept awake all night by some idiots in the next room being very inconsiderate. Would have been nice to have had some communication from the hostel to us about this, as we knew they were aware of the problem. Potentially some compensation? The room itself and the hostel are all fine, well-equipped kitchen and nice living space.

Booked with Hostel World. Got a call at 11 saying we needed to pay the full bill before mid day to reserve the room. I say but you've get a 15% deposit as security that we show up. I let them know we are both at work and is it possible after work. They let me know no. Great. My friend who I am staying with takes his lunch break early to head down and pay. He is there from 11:30 to 12:15- noone at reception. Apparently they all just dissappear. Then as I go to check my booking to call them. I see that my booking is canceled. We can't rebook because they already sold the room on. We are now homeless because accommodation throughout the whole of QT is sold out. We are now without any accomidation for the next two nights. I'm absolutely livid.

It’s is not a campervan site, is it a parking spot! It is so small, you can barely get your small campervan in. Staff and manager are not helpful at all and even get annoyed. They offer late checkout as a compensation, but everyone got that… Also, the showers and toilets are always closed for cleaning during the morning and evening, so you have to go to another floor. Some showers didn’t even have a door, just a shower curtain. You will literally be ‘camping’ between garbage. The only nice thing I have to say about this place is that it is close to the city center.
