I had a wonderful evening at Black Sheep. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and our waitress was absolutely lovely — she recommended the pappardelle, which turned out to be an excellent choice. I also appreciated the thoughtful touch of the chef sending complimentary bread to the table.
The pappardelle was delicious and definitely a highlight of the night. I also really enjoyed the cocktails — the Lemon drop martini and the Bloedlemoen gin fizz were both refreshing and well made.
The only disappointment for me was the ramen. The noodles were quite thick, more like pasta than the lighter ramen noodles I was expecting, and the broth was on the thinner side rather than the rich, flavorful broth I usually associate with ramen. It was presented nicely, but overall it didn’t feel like the traditional ramen I was hoping for.
That said, I truly enjoyed the experience, especially the service, pasta, and cocktails, and I’d be happy to return to try more of the dishes that Black Sheep does so well. Probably better to make reservations for weekends. The place was packed on Friday night.
