skews quite brainy. strengths in russian lit, feels a bit like grad student level of political theory, really quality and not dry historian collection, great comp lit (world/translated fiction). pluses include: owner giving wifi pwd and nice chat, cool personalized decor, very solid virginia woolf, diverse audience at events.

1. Ambience: Warm natural light streams from the backyard windows. Make sure to walk all the way through the store.
2. Layout: Labrythine stacks that are holisitically arranged by chance, encounter, and estimated genre.
3. $: Most used titles run about eight dollars plus or minus two.
4. Character: Objects appear and disappear as well as conversations with friends old and new. The chairs seem to hold yesteryear's discussions.

Great little bookshop in the former Narnia location. I couldn’t think of a better reincarnation of this special spot. First editions, rare books, poetry, art, design, literature, and robust Russian and German collections. They also offer coffee and tea with indoor and outdoor garden seating.

Very cute and inviting bookstore with a surprisingly good selection; I picked up a Russian novel and French book. The owner is super friendly and you’ll often find regulars hanging out and talking books and all topics in the back. Good place to lose a few hours in an afternoon.

Cozy and well curated bookstore that is a hidden palace of literature behind a modest facade. Some rare books, many used books, and a solid selection of new books. Special shout-out to the Russian section, the plays, and so much poetry. Bonus: Henry Miller’s childhood home is right next door (thus the name!). It’s amazing this place exists right in the heart of Williamsburg.

I performed here tonight and I absolutely LOVE Simona’s bookstore 😍😍😍 I had an Armenian comedian open for me who did a character of an Armenian man and people seem to really enjoy. I just read Ian’s review: I am glad you enjoyed my show and sorry we didn’t clarify that the comedian playing an Armenian is actually Armenian ☮️ Come back for the next one :)
