Oakland Food Trails You Can't Miss

"At Black Vines I found a growing community of Black winemakers, vinters, artists, wine-adjacent entrepreneurs, and supporters from across the United States; what Fern Stroud conceived in 2010 has taken on a life of its own, bringing together major and smaller brands for an annual Oakland event that introduces Black winemakers to new audiences, and offering year-round Black-owned wine tours that visit tasting rooms in the Bay Area, Sonoma, and Napa while providing transportation from Black-owned companies." - Shayna Conde

Black Stallion Estate Winery was absolutely amazing in every single way! We had a group come in to experience the winery, wine tasting as well as an amazing lunch out on the mezzanine! Everything from the wine maker to the general manager to the chef was spectacular in every way! We were all so impressed with our experience that many of us, including myself, joined the wine club so that we can continue enjoying these amazing wines after we have left the Napa area. We highly recommend Black Stallion for your group events as well as for your small intimate gatherings. Thank you for an amazing experience!

We were there for a wine tasting and our host was lovely when we saw him… We were there for an hour and only had two tastings from the Prestige tasting. Not sure what happened to him when he left the area. After an hour, our host came out with two bottles and poured two of the remaining tastings at once.. Not overly impressed. We did see two other hosts who seemed to be providing attentive service to the patrons so I’m not sure the issue our host had with us..

Gorgeous grounds, a beautiful facility, and the high ends Cabernets are stunning! Beautiful place for a tasting amongst the vines. Relaxing and classy! Helpful staff, and a top notch experience! Don’t miss a tasting at Black Stallion. It’s a gem in Napa Valley

Black stallion is a great winery just a short distance from downtown Napa along the Silverado Trail. Their building and grounds are very well kept tucked in amongst their vineyards. The wine they make is all very good! Lots of rich but well balanced red wines and a good share of white wines as well. We have been to Black Stallion twice, once just my wife and I and the next time with some friends and family. Probably would be five stars if it wasn't for the second trip. The gentleman serving us unfortunately was not very good at what he was being paid to do. Older gentleman, I cannot remember his name unfortunately, but spent the whole tasting primarily talking to the men at the table. Even with my wife and sister-in-law asking him questions occasionally. His big selling point for the wine was also the price of the bottles, instead of talking about how good the wine is, which it is very good. Despite that still a place I would recommend as they, like I said, do make very good wine.

Had a fantastic experience at Black Stallion Wine Estate! The parking was easy and convenient, which made arriving stress-free. The wine tasting was top-notch, with a lovely hostess who guided us through each wine with great knowledge and enthusiasm. The highlight for me was their educational vine area. It’s such a unique experience to walk among the vines, learn about the grapes, and even taste them right from the vine! The wine and grits tasting was a standout and something you don’t find at many places – a perfect balance of flavours. Highly recommend this estate for anyone looking for a beautiful, educational, and delicious wine tasting experience.

I forgot to ask the name of the lady that welcome us in our road trip to Napa, she was amazingly nice, she helped us not only at the Black Stallion Winery but gave us tips on how to enjoy more or trip.

Google
One of the best winery I’ve visited, pleasant and cozy, friendly staff. The wine testing was top notch. They have a good quality medium body wines and full body Cabernet Sauvignon was my favorite, they do take walk in if not busy, but how ever it’s always better to make a reservation before going.. had a great time. Recommended.

Yelp
Had the day off to catch up with a friend and decided to head up to Napa to try their Portfolio Tasting of 2 reds and 2 whites ($45/pp) in their outdoor seating. The wine options were pretty good however the service from the Sommeliers could've been better. Came in for our reservation on a Friday afternoon and was instantly greeted then guided to options outside to sit. There were probably 3 other parties aside from my friend and I, and we were able to choose a spot far enough from others that we could enjoy our own conversation. Our guide poured us our first glass and let us know our host will be with us shortly to explain its profile. My friend and I waited before taking our first sip so we can have the full run down but it wasnt until 30 minutes or so later we actually met our Sommelier. They were surprised we haven't started drinking but out of respect of wanting to know the details we waited. Initially the lack of urgency didnt bother us since my friend and I were taking the time to catch up but after a while of not being checked in on, especially when there werent many other parties lead us to think they weren't taking us seriously (my friend and I look a young). The times the Sommelier did come to our area, explanations felt rushed and not attentive - as if they were ready to help someone else. Despite this my friend and I enjoyed the tastings and even stayed to try a Rose. I enjoyed more of the whites wines than the other options. Lovely space but we weren't sold on buying a bottle to take home.

Yelp
A truly educational wine tasting experience with a knowledgeable and friendly server who made everything easy to understand. The reds were my favorite, especially the Cabernet Sauvignon, rich and perfectly balanced. The charcuterie was amazing, with a great selection of cheeses that paired beautifully. The ambiance is classy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and savor. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We were fortunate enough to enjoy the annual Christmas party. A really nice bonus on top of great wine. Tastings are available by appointment during the week and on weekends reservations are highly recommended. Price points are manageable for tastings and wine. The folks here really know their business and we enjoyed everything about this visit. We even ended up leaving with a few wine bottles to fill the wine cellar!

Yelp
When most other stops were busy Black Stallion was gracious enough to accommodate my guest and I for a tasting just before closing. The grounds are beautiful and offer educational postings on several of the the vineyards. The tasting also wasn't very expensive either (they offer different tiers). Beautiful drive in as well.

Yelp
We reserved a picnic table here which is a $25 minimum per person when purchasing wines. With this option, we were able to bring in our own snacks and food. First off, I appreciate how accommodating the staff were! We were running quite behind our scheduled time and they let us push back our reservation. My friends and I chose 4 bottles of wine which came out to be about $37 each since there were the five of us. One of the employees walked us to our picnic table it was quite of a walk but the set up outside was really nice. When we got there there was a sign with our party's name and a bag with cups and a wine opener. They also provided water and napkins for us. All of the 4 wines were good but I think my favorite was the rose one. The employee that walked us to our table was really friendly and kept checking in on us asking if we needed anything. Our table was reserved for two hours but we actually ended up staying longer since we were tryna finish all of our wine. We were told we could walk around looking outside at the garden and vineyards but we were there for so long the place was already closing by the time we were done with our wine. We really enjoyed our time here at Black Stallion and I highly recommend reserving a picnic table if you want something more chill and casual than the standard wine tasting!

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - Mixed Tasting - Two whites, two reds, see picture. Sauvignon blanc, white wine blend, tempranillo, and a cabernet. Red Tasting - My selection, pinot noir, syrah, and two cabernets. Cheese & Charcuterie - Small plate, but enough for us because we really just came here to try their wines! Decent assortment. Additional glasses, splashes of oakville and howell cabernets. See pictures of all our glasses. I also liked the different unique shapes of our glass. It felt like I was back in chemistry class. Atmosphere - Beautiful winery. Clean modern bathrooms. Decent assortment of merchandise souvenirs, see pictures. Plenty of parking, also for EV vehicles. Good size winery, both indoor and outdoor seating. Raining today, so most people were indoors. Also several private tasting rooms, see picture. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm. Service - Good. Got some business cards to maybe set up a future tour. Tours are typically not offered to the public. Wine club available, see picture or website. Events available, see website. Food and wine pairings are also available, see website. Price - Our guest fought for the bill and actually won... I think it came out to approximately $151. I left a generous tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1924.

Yelp
Black Stallion is a true gem of Napa Valley. I have visited several times and each time is just as good as the last. When you enter the property, you can immediately see how beautiful and well-taken care of the estate is. A little unknown tidbit: This winery used to be an equestrian center and if you ask the staff, you may even be able to hear all about the history! Now, they have a huge tasting room that is beautifully decorated and these days, it's more common to experience your tasting on their large patio. The patio is covered and extremely comfortable for both small groups and large parties. Now to the wine, you'll get your choice of several different tastings. As I have tried nearly all of their options, I can assure you that each tasting will give you amazing wine. I am personally partial to the prestige tasting. The service here is always wonderful and I cannot recommend Black Stallion enough. If you're in Napa, make sure you make plans to visit, you will not regret it!

Yelp
Dear Black Stallion Winery Team, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for making my wife's birthday celebration such a memorable experience. We had booked the picnic area, and the table was beautifully set with the wines we had selected in advance. Our group of 13 guests thoroughly enjoyed the stunning vineyard setting and, of course, the fantastic wines. The staff were absolutely wonderful--friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful, which made the day even more special. I can't recommend Black Stallion Winery enough and will certainly be sharing our great experience with friends and family. Only suggestion I would like to give is provide proper wine glass rather than plastic cups. Thank you again for everything!

Yelp
Came here on a Monday afternoon with a group of 4 for a walk-in. Place was absolutely empty (I kid you not, nobody was there) and the host said they could talk to the manager to see if there's room for us. What?? Manager comes out and after pretending to look around says he'll "do us a favor" and seat us outside. Perhaps it's the fact we have tattoos and don't fit the "vibe" but three of us own our own businesses and companies... so poor to assume based on looks. Not the first time but Napa can be that way. Anyways-- Wine was mediocre and the workers here were not anywhere near adequate for the seating fee. Funny enough the manager then noticed one of us wearing a Rolex and complimented it after our table was ignored for 20 minutes. Ironic. Don't waste your time here!

Yelp
First winery every in Napa that we've visited. It was pretty good. I liked that we got to sit outside and it was all really shady and on a pretty patio. The staff was friendly and talkative but no one explained the wines or even described them to us. How they were grown, the soil the process nothing. That was a little disappointing. You hear all these wonderful things about Napa wine tasting and then it's just blah. I gave it 4 stars because it's easy to book and the vineyard is really pretty. Plus the staff was kind which makes everything all the better. It kind of stinks that we ordered our charcuterie board and it came in a box and we had to open everything which is kind of annoying but they said it was Covid protocol! Which I found to be bizarre because they don't bring your wine out in little separate bottles. It just sounds to me like the staff is lazy and don't want to put the board together in the back so they make you do it yourself. All in all I doubt we will be back but it was a good enough first experience.

Yelp
I really enjoyed black stallion winery. It was the last stop of the day and really surprised me in a positive way. First, the staff was very friendly and funny. I think his name was William, although he sometimes go by Jack. (lol) The Cab wine was actually one of the better ones that we tasted in Napa especially considering the price point. They also have an adorable shop with lots of items to purchase such as Napa soap, scarves made of cashmere, and other items. I definitely recommend coming to this place especially if you want a more relaxed feel and casual environment. However, you still get delicious tasting wine and great service .

Natasha N.

Yelp
CARLA was the worst host ever, not only was she sloppy and tacky she was unprofessional and seems racist!! Definitely did not kill our vibe with her condescending attitude. Other than her nasty grumpy service, the establishment was nice. We had planned to purchase bottles each to take back home with us but her poor service had us ready to get outta of there.

Yelp
Just popped open a 2010 Bucephalus and "wow" . Full of fruit flavors and savory taste!

Yelp
Ever since I was a child, adults always asked if I would like some cheese with that whine. Now old enough, I see what they meant. This was the first time I've ever been to a winery and Napa in general. There were gorgeous views, delicious grapes to eat off the vine (not sure if this was sanitary but I'm still alive and kicking), and great wines. William was a fabulous host and made sure our group had everything we needed for our friend's birthday from waters and snacks to helping with pictures and recommendations. Great jokes too and we knew he was experienced with his work. Had a tasting of 4 red wines, had some I liked and some I didn't which makes sense. Got some great photos in and felt nice to get away for a little bit (literally because phone service wasn't the best and finder ride-shares wasn't easy). It was great learning about wines and more specifically tasting them out of a bottle as opposed to a box. Great experience and very accommodating for our large group (12)

Yelp
This establishes was our first stop on Mother's Day to have a tasting. We had a wonderful hostess who was attentive and suggested various wines to taste. The charcuterie tray had wonderful fruit preserves and cheeses on it that was divine. The grounds around the estate were beautiful.

Yelp
We just went this Saturday. We tried to accommodate with what whatever they had even splitting the group so it can be easier for them & he just keep putting but's. Felt like he was racist. Even though we had 3 active military guest with us, they treat us bad. Thanks to Sterling Vineyard, they were the best with all our group & specially our active military guests.

Yelp
Excellent winery and wine tasting was also really good and profesional And the chacutiere was really presentable. One of my favorites no doubt.

Yelp
Beautiful estate and lovely tasting areas. The wines that we tasted were very nice and smooth. The tasting is a casual set up, where you are given a flight all at once and go at your own pace. Our sommelier gave us a run down of what we were tasting before leaving us to it. He would pop in to check on us and was available if we had any questions. Different than a typical tasting but we enjoyed ourselves.

Megan A.

Yelp
Our experience was lovely! Ask for Carla, she was very accommodating and allowed us to substitute a wine on our tasting flight. Pricing is more than fair and the estate has an excellent ambiance. Your experience is what you put into it :) Thank you, Carla!

Yelp
Love this place! It was our first time in Napa and our experience was not the best one u til we arrived at this location. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed learning about the history of this winery. Our sommelier, I believe his name was Alan, was very attentive, professional and knowledgeable. He was so nice and we had a great time talking to him. The wines were delicious and loved the ones Alan recommended. Kudos to Alan, and thank to the winery for having amazing staff like him. We will definitely be back next time we're in town.

Yelp
Great experience for my 1st time at Black Stallion Winery! Rsvp are a must so book in advance. Lovely fall 70s weather sets the mood. Party of 4 and choices of different wines are packaged in a tasting. Went with all red and swirl away. Service was great and wine overall was awesome. Can't go wrong with good wine and company. Cheers!

Yelp
We made reservations to come here in the morning a little after opening hours. There was plenty of parking. We opted for the garden terrace seated wine tasting and ordered the mixed set which came with 2 white and 2 red wines. It's a beautiful winery and the outdoor seating area is also aesthetic with much greenery. It's a great option to sit and socialize with friends.

Sheri L.

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed the charcuterie tray as we sipped wine and were educated by Eric who was truly a delight! He spent quality time with us discussing the wines as well as life. His service was impressive. The esthetic of this winery is pure class. If you're in Napa, please stop by this lovely winery.
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
I would day after being a member there since 2014, it appears the service is on the decline. 2 hosts at Black Stallion act like customers are such a burden. The 2 employees seem to think I'm a burden and not give customer service to me most of the time. I may consider asking 12 friends who are members to maybe cancel Black Stallion. I just literally waled out of Black Stallion today. MY e after 10 years time for a new winery if they aren't training newer employees correct. I appreciate the other employees who's been there longer than 3 years. The newer employees are NOT welcoming at all
google avatar

Yelp
So disappointing in Napa. Customer Service needs serious attention at this establishment. We've been here 3 times and keep hoping for improvement. There are so many other tasty options who actually appreciate your visit .

Yelp
We came here during our recent Napa trip and had a great experience! We have bought their Black Stallion cab from the shelves at home which made us want to visit here. We were seated in the outdoor patio, which I was glad was covered since the temps were close to 100! We both opted for the Red tasting. I enjoyed most of these except the Pinot which was decent (and not a fan of the barrel cab for the bonus pour but just not my preference!). I also enjoyed that they served all 4 wines together so we could compare and contrast. Our server, Carla, offered for us to try 1 or 2 extras, which we ended up enjoying more and took these home with us. We left with a variety of wines - Merlot, Syrah, and a Cab Sauv. We can't wait to try these all back at home. Additionally, for spending $200 or more on wine, you get a tasting fee waived which is a nice bonus. When we received our tasting trays of wines, there were crackers on there. Since I am gluten free, I said she could have those back and she came back with a GF option- major bonus! Thanks for including those in our tasting. In addition, during the tasting you could walk around and it was fun to look at the variety of grapes grown right outside the outdoor covered patio plus. Beautiful grounds & great experience- definitely worth checking out when in Napa!

Monique M.

Yelp
This was our first stop while visiting Napa and the winery and service were amazing! Each wine we tried was amazing and our server was so knowledgeable. I wish I could remember her name! She gave us great suggestions on which wineries to skip (super important with the abundance of wineries in Napa) and others to not miss out on. We came back the next day and took home 4-bottles of wine. We will definitely be back next time we're in Napa.

Yelp
Was looking forward to this winery but was unfortunately disappointed. The tasting was only $35 for 4 wines but the wines were very below average. We were warned by another winery that over the years this place has gone down hill and it definitely has. The set-up and entrance were gorgeous when we arrived but once we got our server and wines we were very disappointed. Carla was our server and she was rude. Made an inappropriate comment about my appearance. Also had zero experience in wines; she described the Chardonnay as "very Chardonnay-ee". The wines tasted dull and cheap. Very comparable to a $7.99 bottle you can get at the store. Would never pay $65 for it. I don't consider myself a wine snob, but I have been to multiple wineries in my lifetime and this is at the bottom of the list. Pros: beautiful garden and front entrance Cons: terrible service & did not like the wines
google avatar

Randy D.

Yelp
Black Stallion has always had a beautiful property. And as they expand and remodel, some of the outdoor spaces are quite nice. They have also added comfortable seating, in order to keep up with the escalated experiences in Napa Valley. Their wines have always been good, with certain vintages exceptional. We enjoyed our tasting with our group of 8. Service was pretty marginal, as the server basically poured and left. Although we were an experienced bunch, I would have preferred more education for the 3 people with us that were newbies.
google avatar

Cj L.

Yelp
I had such a great time here as my first wine tasting experience in Napa! Went as part of a large group of 8 friends, so we ordered by the bottle instead of the actual tasting itself (the cost per person was about the same in the end). I thought this was a great alternative though, because not only did we get to try 6 types of wines (as opposed to just 4 per tasting) that we got to personally pick out, but we also had so much remaining that we got to split the bottles to take home! They provided us with some crackers, and they even had some gluten-free alternatives for a friend of mine (which we all ended up liking more, surprisingly!). The winery was so, so beautiful and there was a broad variety of red wines to choose from.

Nikki R.

Yelp
My mom and I visited over the weekend and left horrified. I chose not to buy any wine after what I witnessed and will never support this winery in the future. One of the workers assaulted another worker in front of everyone and management appeared to do nothing. A woman with dark hair named Carla snuck up behind an older lady (in her 70's?) who worked there and ripped her chair out from beneath her for no reason whatsoever. Then she laughed and walked away like she was proud of herself. The older lady looked to be hurt and in pain and seemed very surprised at the whole thing. The manager was right there and witnessed it all and nothing was even said to the bully. My mom who is in her 70's said she didn't feel safe and wanted to leave the winery. What sort of business allows workers to behave this way?? Black Stallion-shame on you!We were shocked-Very tacky, unprofessional and quite frankly, scary that this behavior is acceptable.

Taylor P.

Yelp
William was the best. So witty and knowledgeable. Very peaceful atmosphere. Cheese was unique and paired well with the wine.

Karmen N.

Yelp
This place was recommends by one of other wineries.Unfortunately we got disappointed since the told us that we can't get a glass of wine without the reservation. we had an appointment with a different winery and we got there early and the recommend to visit the place for wine testing. The refuse to offer us glass of wine r since we didn't have reservation.we were told we don't need a reservation. The front desk host was rude and unprofessional. There were only 4 guest in the patio and the place was empty.

Brett Z.

Yelp
We had a wonderful two days in Napa. Every winery was very welcoming and gave us excellent service. We asked our driver to recommend a place, he sent us to Black Stallion Winery. We just arrived, as a walk in, hoping to have a nice tasting. Instead, we were greeted by a very unfriendly host who said they didn't have any room for us to sit outside. While I understand that there are in house seating polices, there were clearly many tables outside. More than half the tables were unoccupied. They did offer us a table inside which was very dark and underwhelming. We very politely asked to be seated outside but it was obvious that the host wasn't going to do anything to accommodate us. So, we left. We still had an amazing day in Napa.

Yelp
Definitely a spot to hit up if you're in the Napa Valley. My friends are wine members here so we easily were able to make an appointment during COVID over the summer while outdoor dining was still available. There is a lot of outdoor space and seating to stay socially distant. You sign a waiver and sanitize (they even have a foot step station to where you put your foot on it and the sanitizer is dispensed). There is a menu of choices of red blends, mixed, and I forgot the other. My friends got the red blends and I wanted the variety because I like to start it off light. They have it all poured in your own tray which I think is very safe for the workers and limits contact. The tasting area is located and surrounded by the vineyards which is nice to take a break or photo op. I felt like it is fairly priced from like $30-$60 a tasting which is normal for now. I even have friends that visit from out of California and find Black Stallion. I would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Black Stallion was the first winery we stopped at during our Napa weekend. I loved the dramatic "black stallion" you see when you first drive into the vineyard. Their tasting area is a cute outdoor area, which had fans and shading to keep us cool in the summer heat. The first table we were seated at didn't have an operational fan but our host Tina was able to move us to a cooler spot. Most of our table opted for the mixed tasting, one person got the red tasting, and the non-drinker had a selection of non-alcoholic grape juices to try. None of the mixed tasting wines were great, the worst being the chardonnay which was extremely oaky. The wines felt pretty one note and none of them really stood out to me. The red tasting was better than the mixed tasting, so I would recommend spending the extra 10 dollars for it. The tasting area is right next to some of their vines, and they encourage guests to try the grapes while trying the wines. It was interesting to try the different grape varietals and see how they really did taste different from one another. Tina was such a standout host and really made us feel welcome - she was knowledgeable, friendly, and took some nice group pictures for us. I'm not sure I would come back again here for a tasting as there are so many other wineries to try in the area, but the service and ambiance were nice. If you do end up booking a tasting here, I highly recommend their non-alcoholic offerings, both juices were sooo delicious LOL.

Yelp
My best friend surprised me with a birthday trip to Napa and she wanted to check this winery out because of the iconic stallion statue, LOL. We came on a weekend around 3PM with a reservation, and opted for a seat outdoors. We got the mixed wine tasting set for $35/pp. that comes with Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and a Cabernet. Our host was super nice and answered any questions we had. Our tasting came with the Sourdough flatbread cracker brand that all wineries provide. My personal favorite was the chardonnay. They do give a good pour for each glass, so we took our time sipping these. I really enjoyed the flavor of all the different wines! The space was pretty empty when we came, but it was nice to sort of have our own space, and for the host to sit parties really far apart. The estate is beautiful, and there are definitely great photo ops! The stallion itself is definitely so elegant and beautiful. I enjoyed my time at Black Stallion Winery, and will definitely bookmark this the next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Add this winery to your tour when you visit Napa. I first came to this winery on a whim one day when my friend and I made a last-minute decision to visit Napa. We came to this winery first with the intention of touring 3-4 wineries during our time here, but instead spent 5 hours sampling the offerings at this winery because the wine and customer service were both incredible. Our server--and in-house expert--Darryl was an absolute gem. He was attentive, patient, and eager to teach us about winemaking. It was so evident how knowledgeable he was about all the different growing and processing steps it took to get the wine samples we tried to our table. He wasn't pushy, but we both wound up purchasing bottles (and I got a membership) because he perfectly matched our tastes to the wines they had available Additionally, every member of the team was extremely welcoming, had a clear passion for wine and this winery, and created a truly relaxed environment that helped my friend and me unwind after stressful work weeks. And during subsequent visits, the servers and concierge have been so kind and helpful to me, even going so far as to page through cookbooks with me to help me find the ideal pairings for recipes I want to serve at dinner parties. If you come to Napa, you need to come to Black Stallion. Their wines are truly delicious, they offer a great variety of wines for many different palettes at really great price points (white, reds, blends, high-end, and more affordable), their staff is wonderful, and the ambiance is so relaxing. I promise, this is an experience you won't want to miss.

Yelp
Beautiful winery!! Visited in late September of this year. We were able to get a reservation here the day before our visit. We arrived at 10am and were seated right away. Since we were the first guests of the day, we were treated with not only with excellent service, but our sommelier took the time to explain to us in detail how the wine tasting & making process was done. He shared a lot of knowledge (a lot more than we were expecting) but that was definitely the icing on the cake for us! The place is absolutely gorgeous!! We were seated in the front terrace. The was so spacious and very well furnished! Definitely make sure you have a look around the entire property! There's a garden to the back and somewhere along the side of the building you can actually see the wine being barreled and getting ready to be stored!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I headed up to Napa Valley for the first time yesterday and chose Black Stallion for our wine tasting experience. Overall we had a great time! The atmosphere was very nice and the estate was very well groomed. Nice bathrooms, beautiful entry outside and lots and lots of grape vines to look at! When it came to the tasting itself, we chose a mixed tasting of 2 red wines and 2 white wines. Our server was knowledge about the wines, but could have been more thorough and attentive to us. The wines were absolutely delicious! After asking the server what his favorite wine was, he brought an extra glass of it for us which we greatly appreciated. The charcuterie was overpriced and not very good. It was in a paper lunch box and everything was pre packaged. I really wanted a winery that had cheese on a beautiful board with sweeping views! Though we didn't get that, it was nice afterwards walking through the vineyard and tasting and reading about the grapes. We'd recommend this winery to others, although I'm not sure we would return. There was nothing wrong, The experience was super great all around, but my experience could have been enhanced in some areas.

Yelp
This winery had beautiful grounds and scenery. There was no tour as I was expecting, it's more just sit at your table and select which tasting package you want. They also have a charcuterie box available. I was kind if bummed because it's literally brought out in a box. You have to unpackage it and plate it yourself. The staff were all super friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I went for a visit with a group of friends. This winery was recommended to us because they offer military discount for tastings. Our friend who was a member always talking about their wine and goes for a visit quite often, so we decided to join here this time. This winery is located on the historic Silverado Trail. This winery has indoor and outdoor seating and gorgeous vineyard surrounding. It was my first time visiting in the fall/winter season, it was a bit cold and gloomy but the vines were so beautiful. I loved it! We did our tasting in the outdoor patio, luckily we bundled up for this trip to Napa. Our server was very nice and helpful with the membership and military discounts. Also with picking wines for tasting, he was very knowledgeable with the wines. I personally like to do a mixed tasting with whites and reds. The wines that I loved were the Chardonnay Poseidon, medium body, buttery and slightly oaky, citrus and vanilla. and the Unfiltered Chardonnay, oaky, buttery and smooth, I really loved the flavor. This would be my favorite out of the Chardonnay's. So both of these wines are from Napa Valley and both are 2019 limited release wines. We took advantage of this and took these home. It would be a good idea to think about getting membership here with the great wines plus the membership discount on wines and tastings. Really you can't go wrong with that... My also kids enjoyed walking by the vines, reading all the descriptions, learning about the different grapes. We had a lovely time here, definitely worth a visit again soon.

Yelp
I did not join. I feel as though this is for a palette who truly appreaciates dry wines. The setting is glorious. The hosting model is more laissez faire. I didn't get an opportunity to truly learn about the grounds or these specific wines. If you're just down for dry wine then you'll be quite content here

Yelp
I planned my bff her bachelorette luncheon here and I highly recommend having a private lunch in their Insectary Garden surrounded by vineyards! The setup, service, food and wine exceeded our expectation! Josiah, the coordinator there was definitely pleasant to work with would definitely plan another event there.

Yelp
We've been here twice. The first we had an indoor tasting at the bar and had an amazing experience. Most recently we tasted out on the patio which was a very nice setting but did lack the personal tasting experience we enjoy (I believe I did select this area for our tasting though). Tasting fee for our all red flight was $45. We really enjoyed the wines.

Yelp
My familia and I came up for 4th of July weekend and we had such a wonderful time! The staff is friendly and very welcoming! William was awesome with great jokes and lots of information on the wine! I would highly recommend coming here for a chilled and relaxing experience! Beautiful grounds that you are welcome to walk around and patio setting if you RSVP in advance and enjoy a lunch out there at
