Where to Eat, Stay, and Play in Belfast, Northern Ireland

"For history buffs, the offerings at Taxi Tour Belfast are a great way to take in the city and learn about its turbulent history. There are a range of tours available, spanning local politics and mural spotting, to a Game of Thrones tour, which takes guests on a trip to 25 of the series filming locations."

Sean was a class act, and the tour was an incredible look inside the time period known as "The Troubles." The tour is 90 minutes, and Sean was happy to stop along the way, explain the different murals/points of view, and happy to take photos of my wife and I along the way. Additionally, he fairly represented both points of view, and I believe this is a must if you are going to visit both Northern Ireland and the Republic. In fact, even if you are staying here in Belfast, it is a must. Belfast is an amazing city with a complicated history, and I feel like I am leaving here having got what I was looking for - a good time learning about a different country.

The Black Taxi Tour is an absolute must for anyone visiting Belfast. And my guide, Tony, was the perfect native to give me the first-hand knowledge and history of Belfast. We went to the primary major sites of Belfast that have defined the city, but with the perspective from a local guide that you don't always hear about or is not prominently discussed in the history books. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland. Brilliant.

Our tour guide Colin was very informative and friendly. He gave us lots of interesting information about life in the time of the troubles, with great personal insight as he grew up in Belfast during this period. He drove us around to many sights and murals and allowed us to get out of the cab to take photos, chat about the history and was happy to answer any questions we had. Great experience would recommend black cab tours with Colin.

Fascinating tour, really eye opening and gave an insight into the history of the troubles and daily life during them. The guide was very knowledgeable and having lived through it, was able to give personal anecdotes. A highlight of our 7 day NI trip for sure.

Our tour was led by Alan and his personal experience of the troubles made the experience very profound- especially in these times. Alan was a great storyteller and offered a very balanced view. I highly recommend this tour !!!

We had read and heard that these tours were very good, but in fact the tour was fantastic, special even. Tony was our guide and he shared his heart felt stories of the troubled times with no bias. Tony has a genuine desire for peace and equality for his Belfast and the world in general. No visitor to Belfast should leave without doing the tour
