We spent two nights at Black Walnut Inn and felt like we were guests in someone's beautiful home. Understated excellence in all aspects of facilities and service. Staff was professional, personal, and polite. All questions were answered with detailed information and a smile. We did not leave the property on our second day .... why leave beautiful vistas and serene settings? The wine tasting at The Four Graces tasting room on site was the BEST of our Willamette Valley tastings. Lodgings and amenities are superb. Black Walnut Inn is the PERFECT place to base your Willamette Valley experience.

My wife and I have stayed at exceptional properties all over the world, but nothing compares to the Black Walnut. It’s the perfect blend of world-class service, breathtaking location, and tranquil ambiance. The property is intimate enough that you feel like it’s your own private retreat, and Nick (the GM) and his team made us feel like we were their only guests. Enjoying cocktails on the patio outside their "speakeasy" bar while taking in vineyard views was maybe the highlight of the stay -- only made better when they surprised my wife with a custom birthday dessert. The views are beyond words, the atmosphere is serene, and the overall experience was exactly the kind of reset we were hoping for. We’d previously stayed at The Allison—which is undeniably beautiful—but it simply can’t match the personalized service and setting of the Black Walnut. Kudos to Nick and the Black Walnut team for creating such powerful moments for their guests. We will be back!

We had the most wonderful stay at Black Walnut Inn. The views made us feel like we were tucked away in the hills of Italy—absolutely stunning. Our room was cozy, elegant, and thoughtfully appointed. Every detail, from the warm hospitality to the incredible food and wine, was five-star quality. The peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect escape, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We can’t wait to return and soak it all in again!

The people and the place made our stay at the Black Walnut Inn the best place we have ever stayed. We extended our stay because it was so enjoyable. The suite was luxurious, from the huge soaking tub, the many french doors leading to the outdoor deck with seating, silky smooth sheets and the complementary wine tasting flight. The Inn is only 2 miles from town, but feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle. A most relaxing stay!

What a wonderful experience! This stay was originally to celebrate Valentine's Day but due to weather/road conditions we were unable to arrive on our reserved date. The general manager, Nicholas, understood the situation and adjusted our stay so that we could enjoy our stay at the inn and the surrounding wineries, restaurants, and shopping at the local stores in the nearby communities. Not only did Nicholas adjust our date of arrival, he graciously upgraded our suite to the premier suite on the property! Nicholas, a very personable young man, also took time to meet us upon our arrival and showed us around before handing us off to Maddy, a vibrant and friendly young lady, to welcome us to our suite. Maddy was very informative, providing suggestions for wineries to visit in the area and details regarding our stay at the property. She also took care of us for breakfast was wonderful just to chat with. Our suite was very impressive, modern, tastefully decorated, and extremely comfortable. The views were spectacular with vineyards on the hillside and snow covered mountains in the background. We enjoyed wine tasting at The Four Grace's Winery on property and tastings at several other nearby wineries. All were spectacular in service, views, and quality of their wines. Our stay could not have been any better, wonderful service, superior accommodations, and a very quiet and peaceful setting in this beautiful area of Oregon.

Don't miss out on this incredible experience. Accommodations were top notch. beautiful scenery and laid-back atmosphere make it feel like you are escaping to the Tuscan countryside. Book the Anthology dinner! incredible food, thoughtful and attentive staff with live narration from the chef team. A wonderful experience for any special occasion. I truly felt like the staff went above and beyond to make this an experience to remember. It felt like they really believed in the product they were producing and were excited to share it with others.

We spent two nights at the Black Walnut Inn and were lucky to be upgraded to the Grange Residence, where we stayed in the Jory Suite. Everything about the property was incredible — from the beautiful architecture to the panoramic views of the vineyards and Mount Hood. The suite was spacious, well-equipped, and, as a corner room, offered even more stunning views. The staff was wonderful and incredibly accommodating. Plus, the location is perfect, just a short drive to downtown Dundee and the surrounding vineyards. Highly recommend, and we can’t wait to return!

Everything about Black Walnut Inn is superb. The amenities of the Inn's rooms, the stunning views of the surrounding valleys and vineyards (and Mt. Hood on clear days), the beautiful common rooms, patios, and fire tables for relaxation, the amazing made-to-order breakfasts, and the excellent Four Graces Winery just 50 yards away. Best of all, though, is the Inn's personalized and friendly service - everyone there is so happy and accommodating, and they treat you as family! ||||I highly recommend Black Walnut Inn for anyone seeking a casual, relaxing, luxury experience in the Willamette Valley.

Yelp
We came from Texas in August to escape the heat ya'll. I let Hubby pick the lodgings and did not even check it out online so I'd be surprised...and let me tell you, I was so pleasantly surprised! We were greeted at the desk by Ryan with a glass of their sister winery's rose and then proceeded on a tour of the inn. It is a small boutique inn with only about 18 rooms total. I believe while we were there, there may have been maybe 4-5 other couples (that we only saw at breakfast). It is just a lovely place with a sitting room with a huge fireplace, a quaint breakfast room, and several patio areas with fire pits overlooking the valley. One firepit stays on all the time (already I was excited to "need" a firepit in August!). Ryan then walked us across the entryway to a separate smaller building and into our room which was the Deluxe Valley View room...with glass doors that opened directly onto a sweet little patio with adirondack chairs and table overlooking the vineyard. We spent every morning here drinking tea before breakfast and most evenings here drinking wine before bed. And speaking of breakfast! Every morning was a treat...several options you can choose from, mix and match your pastry with your fresh fruit with your main dish with your beverage with your coffee, all a great way to bellywad before a day of wine tastings! Do yourself a favor and get the SCONE every morning! I discovered that sadly on my last day :( All of the staff were super sweet and accommodating. The room was beautiful and the bed was comfy! But that view tho! Makes me want to submit a resume!

Yelp
An incredible stay. To start, Peter and Carolyn are the sweetest, most accommodating, and overall fantastic hosts. The grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are perfect. You truly feel like you are staying in an Italian Villa. The food, is also incredible. Not to mention the service and accompaniments. Will be back! If you're looking for a stay in the Willamette Valley, the Black Walnut is the place!

Daniel S.

Yelp
Our first venture into Oregon wine country and we started at the top. Wonerful Estate with great facilities. In the epicenter of Willamette Valley. Small number of rooms with everything you would need. We did the 6 course wine pairing at Anthology which was truly extraordinary. Also a wine tasting at Four Graces which was well thought out. All on the same grounds in newly built structures. Breakfast included local ingredients and great service. And then there is the wine...

Truk K.

Yelp
Best thing about the hotel is the view. Really beautiful Given the price point. Everything else OK, including the breakfast.

Alicia W.

Yelp
Very cozy stay, incredible friendly staff. Caroline is amazing. Best breakfast I've had in months. Thank you!

Jason B.

Yelp
If you cannot relax and recognize God's beauty, sipping great wine by the fire pit staring at a snow capped mount hood with your bride at this place, we need to talk! the Black Walnut exceeded all of our expectations. The property is gorgeous. The service is fabulous. the people are awesome. We are still blessed to be able to do some hiking, the elevation changes are no joke. Be prepared! We went each morning and came back to amazing breakfast at the Inn everyday. Caroline, Sierra and Sydney are the most most pleasant and caring folks you could meet. All were so helpful and also knowledgeable about things to do, places to see in the valley. We did the 4 course dinner with their amazing chef Chase. The food was amazing. Room was beautiful, beds and Linens were exceptional. I almost did not write a review to selfishly not give a way this hidden diamond. We truly cannot imagine better accommodations. God willing we will certainly return. They are building 9 more rooms and an event center and restaurant. Should be phenomenal. MaryAnn and I thank you all for a very memorable experience. God Bless you folks at the Walnut.

Cindy S.

Yelp
If we could give the Black Walnut Inn more than five stars we absolutely would. Everything about this place is charming, delightful, and welcoming. Especially Marie and Frankie who are as sweet as can be. Frankie produces phenomenal breakfasts as you sit in a beautifully appointed dining room. Marie is a treasure. She is happy to tell you about her amazing life and experiences. She is dazzling. Each room/suite has a well thought out ambiance. Lovely. We were fortunate to stay in room #5; the room dedicated to Native Americans. Ask Marie, it's her story to tell. Oh... we don't want to forget the chickens. Talk about fresh eggs! We would go back in a heartbeat it was such a terrific experience. Cindy & Gene

Yelp
Love staying here. This weekend was our third year to come here to celebrate our anniversary. Beautiful views and phenomenal service. Breakfast was outstanding. Hope to stay every year

Melanie W.

Yelp
We spent the night at BWI. So beautiful and amazing this place is less than an hour from PDX. It was such a relaxing evening to get away from the stress from work and decompress. We stayed in room 6- which had multiple amazing views from out room. Super romantic and peaceful! Breakfast was amazing, nothing but positives for this place- we'll be back- minus Mother Nature fires and winds.

Carey A.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous. The setting, views (including Mt Hood and Mt Jefferson), the food, service and accommodations. Just exceptional!

Lidiya Z.

Yelp
This winery was absolutely amazing. The wines were immaculate, the staff was very friendly, the grounds are gorgeous, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. On a clear day, you'll see the most stunning view of Mount Hood & the Cascade range. Collin was a wonderful host! He was very helpful, a great conversationalist, and very knowledgeable about the different wines and the process of winemaking. Such great hospitality! Definitely would recommend a visit there to anyone, it's an unreal place.

David D.

Yelp
Just an amazing inn - phenomenal location and views, high end accommodations, very nice service and essentially a gourmet breakfast that's included. Located about 8 minutes from Dundee proper, they are in the middle of a vineyard with great views of Mt Hood and Mt Jefferson. And if that's not enough our room was roomy, with a very large bathroom and comfortable king sized bed. The breakfasts (designed and prepared by Chef Chase) are creative and delicious. We were here for 2 breakfasts and had the eggs Benedict (surprisingly light), the heirloom cherry tomatoes/goat cheese tartine, and the oatmeal. When we come back - we loved the Willamette region - we will stay here again for sure. But for 3 nights.

K' H.

Yelp
Beautiful location, lovely rooms, in-house chef (Chase), yoga, meditation, wine... Treat yourself to an exquisite weekend or longer. You'll leave feeling well rested.

sonja c.

Yelp
Simply wonderful....... This is how I would describe this property. Our children sent us on a 30th anniversary trip and many people suggested that we go to another high end property that is well known in the area. Betsy , the general manager , was so accommodating and supportive. We needed to change our reservations several times due to some family health complications and schedule changes. We were even lucky enough to meet the owners, who were both gracious and sincerely interested in all feedback about the property. It was clear that their true goal was to always keep their guests comfort and interest The forefront of their property management. And then there is the food! Not your typical bed-and-breakfast fare, beautifullly presented, Locally sourced , and yummy! Unfortunately we had to leave earlier than planned, but cannot wait to return.

Yelp
My husband and I travel to Ashland, OR, every year. This year we decided to also drive to the Willamette Valley for two nights. Once we were there, we realized that we could have easily stayed longer and, quite frankly, we wanted to permanently move into our room at The Black Walnut Inn and Vineyard. This place is special in every way. View? Perfect! Friendly owners and staff? You bet! Most comfortable bed I have slept in in a very long time? Definitely! Helpful advice re: the area? Of course! Yummy breakfast? Yes! Very quiet with plenty of places to relax (e.g., patio, great room, your balcony)? Yes!! Gorgeous space overall? Absolutely! The Black Walnut Inn only has nine rooms. I do encourage you to carefully read about each room before making your choice. I didn't realize that the view from our particular balcony is obscured by a roof peak. I was too comfortable to care, and there were plenty of other places to enjoy the view, but others might be disappointed. With regard to breakfast, I was impressed that dietary restrictions and allergies were an inquiry at check in and someone paid enough attention to ask about one of our restrictions when we ordered a dish two days later that might have included an item my husband cannot eat. I also asked one morning to substitute cheddar for pepper jack cheese in an egg dish and that was no problem. I would also recommend calling the Inn about your room choice rather than book online if you have any mobility concerns. Our room was upstairs and I didn't see another way up there besides the stairs. Sometimes I write long reviews, and sometimes there's nothing to say other than "Wow!" The Black Walnut Inn was beautiful, friendly, and comfortable. I will never stay anywhere else in the Willamette Valley. My only hesitation in writing this review is that it will be harder to get a reservation as word spreads! ;)

Kaycee S.

Yelp
We "discovered" Black Walnut Inn last year, and it's now our #1 favorite place to stay in the Willamette Valley! We've been back 3 times since our first visit which should give you an idea of the amazing place it is. Each and every visit is better than the last. The staff always remembers us by name and welcomes us warmly, the rooms are luxurious with incredible views overlooking the vineyards, and the food is first class (we're foodies, so we know what we're talking about)! Great location near many wineries, and they're super knowledgeable in recommending out of the way "gems" you may not know about. We had to postpone a long planned trip to Italy when the pandemic closed down travel, but the Black Walnut Inn almost makes you feel like you're in Tuscany. We can't wait for our next visit ... 5 stars just doesn't seem like enough!

Virginia A.

Yelp
I am changing my review to a one star because their response is simply not true. I one hundred percent did not host an "impromptu party." The inn was well aware we were 15 people celebrating a birthday party. They helped me plan the welcome party with hors oeuvres and wine! We also one hundred percent did rent out the entire main house. There was a carriage house across the driveway where two other couples were staying. To be clear, these couples came and joined our party! We shared our food and wine with them, and then a few of us even shared a car service with them down to the town of Dundee. Finally, we also had breakfast with them the next day. So I'm pretty sure we made their experience better, not worse. And, yes, I was upset about the 200$ cleaning fee which they said was: "Charged to cover our resources in additional staff time required to stay behind on Friday evening as well as come in early on Saturday morning. Cleaning required more than straightening up, including removing temporary tattoo debris from our floors and furniture, removing food ground into the rug, and smoke ventilation despite our communicated non-smoking policy." The "staying behind on Friday night" to clean up after the event is ridiculous. We paid to have our event there. Isn't it there job to pick up afterwards (wine glasses, plates, etc.)? The tattoo debris is hysterical. By this I believe they mean picking up the cellophane and paper left behind. Are they kidding? I hope they didn't pull a muscle bending over to do so. And, yes, I guess a few of the ladies were smoking out by the fire pit (which is located nowhere near the actual inn) --so there is zero chance they had to use "smoke ventilation" (again, comical, did they bring in fans, wipe down all the walls and objects, shampoo the rugs and couches to complete such ventiliation...or perhaps they opened a door or window?). Finally, their "communicated non-smoking policy" involved a note written on sharpie on the back of used envelope that they left by the front desk the next morning. We were a bunch of 40 somethings having fun. We did not throw a rager, smoke inside their property, dance on the furniture, or otherwise disrespect the place. Sorry if some of the hors oeuvres got "ground" into your carpet. We didn't do that on purpose.

Yelp
We loved our stay here! We went as part of our honeymoon. Really everything about this place is great. The rooms and lodging are luxurious. The scenery is outstanding. The service and staff are very friendly. The food is incredible. Honestly this is the best hotel/resort food we've had and the best food we had in Oregon wine country. They have a complimentary breakfast as well as dinners you can prepurchase. Would definitely recommend having dinner there at least one night. Would go back for sure!

Whitney M.

Yelp
The house and grounds itself was beautiful. That is about all I can give it. The staff was so unfriendly and not accommodating. We went for a Birthday celebration and rented all 6 rooms in the main house. But were scolded for actually using the common areas, when we were under the impression it was just our group there. I would stick to the Allison or Atticus 100% if you want to have any fun. I have stayed at both for different reasons and the staff is great. And very friendly. Unfortunately I will not be going back here despite the beautiful grounds. And will not recommend it to anyone I know either.

Andy K.

Yelp
Outstanding views and rooms, excellent service and location. Will return on our next trip. Expensive and worth it

Lisa B.

Yelp
This lovely Inn is situated on amazing grounds, on a hill that overlooks the Valley. They take good care of the place and it shows. The food was good, and when asked, the staff would do anything for you. I recommend the AVA wine tasting experience - the chef is very knowledgeable and it was fun. As was the picnic; they did a great job. However what goes on inside the Inn needs a little work. I have to give them the caveat that they had been closed for 2 months because of the virus, but were open for over a month when we had arrived. Housekeeping was pretty much invisible for our entire 3 night stay. When we asked for a "refresh" (their words) a staff member went to our room and emptied one trash can - never mind the towels on the bathroom floor or the full trash can in the bath or used glassware. Most of the electrical outlets in our room did not work. Different staff had a different answer to nearly every question, it seemed like management was void. So many little things that were just wrong, but not dire mind you. The bottom line for us; the level of service/food, etc. does NOT justify the cost they are getting for the rooms. I have stayed in a few 5 star hotels and know service for a $400+ a night room, this sadly is not it.

Max K.

Yelp
A beautiful Tuscan-inspired bed and breakfast with a lovely tasting room. Jason provided excellent service and recommendations and we appreciated his candor and knowledge about the region and for personalizing our experience. Would love to come back again soon

Michaela O.

Yelp
We had the most Amazing experience in this mist perfect setting! The staff was so great and everything was clean and sooo comfortable! I never wanted to leave! Thank you so much!!!

Joan D.

Yelp
Wow. You must try this special occasion bed and breakfast. We were greeted with a glass of (delicious) local Pinot. And our room (#9) takes my breath away. Gorgeous furniture. Simple European decor. Coming back again.

Kate D.

Yelp
Black Walnut Inn is spectacular. I had been wanting to make a trip to the Willamette Valley all year, and when I stumbled upon Black Walnut's website I knew that's where we had to stay. This is one of those situations that I don't think the pictures online (though beautiful) do it justice. It's seriously even more beautiful than that. We checked in on a Thursday and had room 3. Kelsey showed us to our room and poured us each some pinot to sip while we got settled. The room was spacious and had a very comfortable king bed and french doors that opened to a semi-private balcony overlooking the vineyard and valley. It is seriously just as beautiful as France or Italy and takes a quarter of the time to get here. The inn gives you a bottle of their pinot noir to enjoy, which we did on the first night by the fire. That night I think we were the only ones staying in the main house, so we had it to ourselves. The living room area with the fireplace was so cozy and the perfect place to read a book and sip some wine. I also enjoyed the tub and toiletries in the bathrooms and the towels are some of the softest I've used. Honestly I enjoyed the bedding and towels so much I took photos of the tags so I could buy them myself haha. For breakfast both mornings we enjoyed cappuccinos, scones and biscuits, the pancakes, eggs benedict, farmer's plate, and the egg tartine. It was all delicious, but my stand out of the meals was the crispy potatoes--they are seriously life changing. Crunchy whole but smashed little potatoes with some kind of dry rub. I could eat them every day. My only slight criticisms of Black Walnut are the water pressure in the shower--ours was very weak and it was hard to use the overhead rain shower because it had some kind of build up, causing the water to shoot in different directions. And also the AC unit in the room--we really didn't need it much since it was chilly out, but we weren't totally comfortable sleeping with the door open (city people!). It didn't work quite properly, we asked about it and were told they are upgrading the AC system soon, so I'm glad they're at least on top of it. This location is also perfect for wine tastings. It's very close to Dundee but also only 15-20 minutes from some of the beautiful vineyards in the hills. I had such a relaxing time and plan to come back again.

Barbara K.

Yelp
This place isn't just an Inn it's also a winery! A fantastic winery! We just happened to stumble upon this place and I'm so glad we did! The wines were SO GOOD and the service was even better! There was a caterer there so we sat on the patio, enjoying the breath taking view, and ordered lunch to go with our wine tasting. I have to say it was the BEST chicken sandwich I've ever had! I ordered a class of the Chardonnay to go with it and it was just perfect. This was such a treasure of a place.

John S.

Yelp
This place is great. Get a room on the second floor in the main building. The views of the Williamette valley are beautiful. We could see Mt. Hood from our bed, some 50+ miles away. The views are the greatest. Rooms are nicely appointed. One evening we sat on our balcony and listened to a rock band play music one hill over. Amazing. The inn is located very close to many wineries and restaurants. We will return to this inn many times in the future.

Allison N.

Yelp
Chase and his staff did an amazing job with a lunch and wine tasting for my sisters birthday. All the food and wines were locally sourced. The property is stunning and the views are spectacular. They greeted us in their masks and every Covid protocol was made a priority. I can't wait to go back.

Jeff M.

Yelp
Found this gem at the top of the hill overlooking their vineyards and the Dundee valley! What a great place for a getaway! My wife and I made this our home base during a weekend of wine tasting in the area. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. I pre-ordered a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate that was in our room upon check-in. Nice extra touch! The breakfasts were very good. On our last day we stopped by their on site tasting room and tried the Black Walnut Pinot selections. The woman serving in the tasting room was full of local knowledge and great tips for places to visit in the area, while pouring great wine. Ultimately we ordered some to be dilivered home! ;-) Hope to have an opportunity to visit again in the future!

Scot M.

Yelp
An extra two dollars for egg-whites at breakfast. Really, is that needed after paying $400 for a room? Maybe I could get two dollars off for getting extra egg yolks. It is the best view of wine country around though.

Pamela A.

Yelp
My husband and I and another couple spent a weekend here three years ago. We really enjoyed our visit, staff at the inn were personable and accommodating and our rooms were beautiful My four friends and I recently spent two nights here, and the experience was completely different. -young staff were cold and condescending -the outside and only door to one of our rooms would not lock and blew open continuously. We asked for staff help several times and their solution was to stack chairs from the inside with the comment (from two different young girls at different times) "no one ever comes up here, it's okay that the door isn't locked." -we wanted to watch the Blazer game in the evening and only one of three televisions worked in our rooms, so the five of us watched from a bed. -we were charged for a rollaway and one extra person, and we were given a sheet and pillow for the couch, which is not a hide-a-bed. -my husband had asked a month before our visit for a suggestion of a nearby florist to deliver flowers for us, and the woman at the desk had said they would be happy to provide them...no flowers. One wonderful positive was the breakfast that was served. The young chef was friendly and the food was delicious.

Jeff D.

Yelp
Fancy schmancy and expensive, but luxurious, well appointed, and in a great setting. Modern architecture, friendly service and killer views of the valley all add to a great place for a splurge.

Kare A.

Yelp
From the extraordinarily original, tasty six-course dinner, wines and delightful breakfast, made from local foods to the elegantly designed inn (including dreamy beds) and the amazing views and evident friendship amongst the staff that generated caring, adept service our stay at Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard was a highlight of our trip up from Sausalito to Portland. Yes this is a run-on sentence yet it reflects to flow of the wondrous experience we had there. Bob Iles and I plan to return and are raving about this to our friends. Thank you head chef, Chase, and your talented culinary assistant Zack. And, another sign of the strong friendships amongst the staff: the extra help from Tynan who works at Evening Land tasting room, and was technically "off work" in the back helping document for their social media accounts. As the friendly, extremely conscious hostess, Kelsey Chance, noted, Every day is a new adventure here and we all wear many hats, so thank you for noticing the care we each take in making sure every aspect of a guests' stay is as great as possible."

Tammy S.

Yelp
We stayed at this Inn this past weekend and it was just perfect. Gorgeous views, close to wineries, great breakfast and excellent service. The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations for wineries, calling for tasting appointments and suggestions for other activities such as hiking and restaurants. We can't wait to return again!

Emilie S.

Yelp
A Tuscan style villa that sits just above Dundee. Perfect location, crazy beautiful views. Great rooms and breakfast was SO yummy. Expensive, but unrivaled.

Heather E.

Yelp
What a breathtaking venue! I had the opportunity to photograph a simple and sweet wedding ceremony there this year, and the setting could not have been more gorgeous. Everyone there was very helpful but not intrusive in any way. Truly an amazing place!

Stacey K.

Yelp
We just stopped in to the Black Walnut Inn. Jason provided a knowledgeable wine tasting, excellent glass of wine, great recommendations for the area, and delightful conversation. The scenery was breathtaking. We loved the warmth and personal attention. We highly recommend making this a stop on your trip and visiting Jason in the tasting room.

Michael F.

Yelp
We stayed for two nights in September and it was one of our best vacations yet. The views are spectacular and the breakfast rivals the wineries in the area. The common areas offer views of the entire valley. All of the staff is very helpful and nice and spends the time to answer all of your questions. We were recommended Black Walnut Inn from a friend and have already booked our next stay with them next year.

Leslie W.

Yelp
We were dreaming of this Inn and Winery when we booked it for three nights on our first trip to Pinot Noir heaven! The Inn is a perfect gem in the valley and the staff, chefs, wine and food were rivaled only by the views. Wine tasting options, Bing cherry picking guide (at my request for a check on my bucket list), recipes happily shared and the best 4th of July view of at least 10 fireworks shows on the mountain. The beds are wonderful, the sheets as smooth as the wine and the plans ahead with the new owners make this a must return trip! Leslie W. Naples, Florida

Gianna L.

Yelp
Rude, rude, rude. Called to inquire about a wedding and the coordinator was very unwelcoming. Weddings must be under 50 guests to "fit within their parameters." I'm looking for an awesome day and a rude coordinator definitely will not be part of it! No thanks.

Scott A.

Yelp
We stayed here last year before the new owners took over. It was really a lot of fun and we had an amazing time. We stayed here this weekend after all the updates from the new owners and management, to say it was magical and amazing is not doing the new Black Walnut Inn justice. From the new beds to the fantastic food, it is a completely new experience. Can't give this a rating that is high enough. And hearing some of the plans for the near future...we will be back soon!

Carolyn K.

Yelp
We had a lovely stay in room #8 at Black Walnut Inn. The linens in our room were so soft and comfy! Breakfast was delicious. Evangeline was a great host. The very best part was the amazing view from the patio! Fantastic! We would definitely come back!

Doug M.

Yelp
Caveat Emptor: We were very aware of the 30 day cancelation policy. However, due to a family death, we unfortunately had to cancel our visit. We informed management of our situation and they refused to refund our deposit. They insisted that we re-book a future date. We informed management that we would prefer a full refund due to our situation and that other establishments had no such policy and were understanding. However, The Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard still declined our request. I would highly recommend not making a reservation at the Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard unless you are absolutely positive of your arrival regardless of the situation. The management is more focused on short term revenue than their brand.

Yelp
Amazing experience, my wife and I met the owners in the newly re-opened tasting room and found ourself on a private tour! Fantastic rooms and the views can't be beat! Loved our little weekend getaway, we will defiantly be coming back!

Yelp
Stayed here on our honeymoon. It was everything we could have asked for - great service, well appointed rooms, great views, clean, amazing breakfast, close to wineries and dining. We'll be coming back!

Yelp
We had a lovely time at this beautiful location. My family rented out the whole B&B for a tiny wedding (15 people) and it was wonderful. The views are exceptional in the morning and evening; even got to watch hot air balloons this morning. The breakfast the first day was beautiful and exceptional quality; we ordered from a menu of three choices and it was fresh and perfect. The rooms were spotless, high-end linens, and very nice quality decor. Each room had a basket with a cutting board, cheese knife, etc. Ample parking and great outdoor seating. They were cheerful as we needed to move outdoor chairs to make room for everyone and asked frequently if we needed anything. They were great. The owner's adult children are caterers and did a sit-down dinner for our party that was outstanding! Absolutely top-quality and great presentation. The appetizers were beautiful! Then salad, cold soup, flank-steak, and the best chocolate cake I've ever had. Fantastic!! Here's why it didn't get a 5-star from me: 1) they have a family dog (who is tiny and cute and very well behaved); however, that meant spots of dead grass from urine as well as the very occasional dog dropping in the grass. Also, the dog was in the kitchen one day, which was pretty unprofessional. It wasn't on the counters or licking the food, of course, but still- gross. 2) the breakfast on one day was buffet. Now, it was a very high-end buffet with scones, eggs, meat, granola and fruit, but I dislike a buffet at a B&B. We stay at B&Bs probably 3-4 times per year and this is only the second that I've ever been to which had a buffet; I think it's tacky. Although, again, excellent quality. I would absolutely recommend this to groups who want a private oasis.
