Avoid! We booked a double room with breakfast for myself and my 10-year-old son via Booking, paying nearly £180 (+15 pounds were paid by Booking as a discount for a permanent client) . Despite this, the hotel owner insisted the booking was for one person and only offered one breakfast. The room had toiletries for one, and I had to ask for more. A large, unleashed dog owned by the hotel barked at and frightened my son, who later showed bruises on his ankle left by that dog. The owner dismissed the incident, called my son a liar, and was extremely rude. After we left and I sent the owner (Paolo) an email with my concerns about the dog, he falsely accused us of violating rules (eating and drinking in the room) and claimed it required deep cleaning —despite no such rules being provided and the room being left spotless, not to mention that we had dinner and early breakfast in another place. The kettle was dirty, rusted and had no safety label. The lock to the room was badly repaired and opened in the opposite direction. I spent a lot of time to figure out which of the three keys provided could open it and how. My neighbour probably had the same problem as at about midnight someone was trying to open their room without any success. Some furniture, for example, an armchair, needs patches and some cleaning. The hotel, listed as 4-star, did not meet basic service or safety standards. One of the most unpleasant and unprofessional stays we’ve experienced.
