Blackbird and Henry

The Blackbird and Henry has the feel of a relaxing and homey neighborhood restaurant. The dishes are all prepared with great detail and presented beautifully. Try the lamb leg grilled cheese to experience the quirky combinations that make the menu so rich with flavor. Be sure to ask about the expansive wine and spirits menu which was selected to compliment the meals. I love this spot!! Definitely one of my favorite classic go to spots for brunch, and a quick and easy place for lunch. TIP: Open Tues-Thur 11 am- 10 pm, Sat 11 am- 11 pm, Sun 11 am- 10 pm, closed Mon. Simple, tasteful makeover in the a former breakfast spot on the edge of campus. With an ever-changing seasonal menu and a gin-focused cocktail menu, there are many good choices on their small menu. I recommend their melt-in-your-mouth sweet corn risotto. The redfish dish was like a deconstructed gumbo. Very flavorful. The TX honey junket was a miss for some at our table. It was more like a mild flavored panna cotta than a pudding. The pistachio parfait was a hit though. Service was attentive without being too much.

Came here with a couple girlfriends. Everything was great except for the ceviche- my friend got it and didn't like how strong the flavor or the salmon was. I tried it and agreed that it had an excessive fishy smell. Come to learn from the manager (I assume) that the ceviche was made on Sunday and should still be fresh... On Tuesday.... Not a chance. Never going back. Thanks for the lame apology and blaming us for not liking your 2 day old raw fish.

Nice little place for a drink after work if you're stationed downtown. The place is located right on the corner and its got free parking, a true PLUS for this area. I love the natural light that comes in through the many windows at this place and the happy hour specials are not too bad!

Amazing food! Great price for the atmosphere and knowledgeable servers! Make sure to order the French toast. Best thing ever!

I had the chicken schnitzel with a potato salad and asparagus for lunch. It was pretty good.
