Feb 2025 Fine dining standalone restaurant with a storied past as it was once an airport tower. This restaurant harks back to the days when restaurants had their own separate space and structure, where the waiters were specially trained and often of long tenures. It is arguably one of the most popular restaurants to bring your visiting friends. The food is well established with a partially rotating menu. One will evidently feel that the dishes are completely curated. Their in house desserts are pretty much popular with long standing diners. Their bar is also a proper and comfortable place for functions as well as for lounging. Service is consistently attentive and sociable. The staff is accommodating and highly professional. The layout still has vestiges of the tower's height as well as the cool white stone climate. The place is bright and airy and there is an outdoor veranda option as well as upper floor sections. Ideal for special dates and events. Reservations are highly recommended.

Very upscale with reasonable prices, for what you get. Not cheap, but good value. Food is refined yet comfortable. The setting is the old original Makati Airport building across from The Peninsula Hotel. Historic. Evening time has a dress code, but lunch is casual. Broad pan-asian menu and cocktails.

Service was great, restaurant very clean Starters were nice, mains were a disappointment and dessert was good Duck pasta - Pasta good, sauce nice, duck didn’t fit the dish (traditionally red meat) Steak - Cooked well but bland, maybe a mid quality of beef, personally it didn’t taste high quality to me 4 cheese pizza - Tasted like food from a regular pizza shop and not fine dining. Base was thick (usually thin for nicer places), tasted like it was oven cooked, all the cheese flavors did not strongly come through Sides Beans and potato’s, both very nice no complaints

Blackbird positions itself as a high-end fast-food restaurant, but my experience there fell short of expectations. The first impression was promising. Located in Ayala Triangle, it benefits from a prime spot near five-star hotels, convenient parking, and a unique historic charm thanks to the building’s rich history. Unfortunately, this positive impression quickly faded. Service was underwhelming from the start. No one greeted us upon arrival, and after being seated outside and handed the menu, we were abruptly moved from a table for two to a table for four nearby due to a staff mistake. The atmosphere felt cheap, with plastic chairs and paper towels detracting from the upscale image they aim to portray. Staff training appeared insufficient for a restaurant of this standing, servers seemed rushed, leaving little time to enjoy the dining experience, as if they were more focused on turning tables. The food was another letdown. The menu is overpriced for what’s offered. While the food was acceptable, it was far from justifying the cost of ₱1,500 per person (which could've gone much higher). Adding to the disappointment, my meal was served with cheap, single-use chopsticks. The accompanying wine was average at best, with an okay white wine and terrible red. Overall, Blackbird feels like a missed opportunity—a restaurant relying on its exceptional location to sell overpriced, mediocre dishes. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Spent our Valentines Day here just to try something new. And here are our observations. Pros: -they accept walk-in and reservations -staffs are attentive -food was great especially the Pasta and Nasi Goreng -romantic atmosphere -it has a bar -parking for 8-9 vehicles if i remember correctly -clean environtment as it is located in the Ayala Triangle. The place itself is clean as well and very aesthetic even the washrooms. -the place can be rented for events. -pet friendly as long as they will stay at the al fresco area. Cons: -tables are quite close to each other, we were seated close to the other table and it was kind of awkward to talk because they could hear us for sure as we could hear them as well. -some of the pasta in the menu was not readily available, we were informed that it will be available after an hour since they have yet to prepare the ingredients for it. But after a few minutes, it was already available tho so we proceeded with the order. -the 2nd floor is a lot smaller than the ground floor. -quite overpriced to be honest. At least the food was great.

Took my wife to Blackbird for Valentine’s Day. It was a very pleasant lunch with amazing service and amazing food. The burger was delicious, but my wife’s dish (nasigoreng) was way better. The desert was also delightful. I would definitely go back there.

The dinner for 3 costed 11k peso, and it was worth every cents paid. The food quality was good and the service was awesome. The mushroom soup is a must-try. It is conveniently located opp Peninsula Hotel where we stayed. The restaurant was 80% full, so reservation is recommended.
