My husband and I had one of our best dining experiences at Black+Blue a few weeks ago. We were celebrating some good news - and the staff were so exceptionally kind and thoughtful. The food exceeded our expectations from quality, to flavour and portion size. I had the best non-alcoholic beverages I’ve ever had (I believe it was their pear lemonade). My husband and I also greatly enjoyed the seating arrangements and decor of the restaurant. My personal pet peeve is when fine dining restaurants try to maximize seating and place their guests and tables like sardines. This was absolutely not the case at Black+Blue. What made our dinner even more special was the attentive, thoughtful and professional service we received from our wonderful server Fraser. He was so incredibly kind and professional - something that I’ve found missing from so many fine dining establishments these days. Having Fraser as our server truly elevated a good dining experience to an exceptional and stand-out one. In addition to Fraser’s attentive service, we also had several other Managers check in with us to ensure we were enjoying our dinner - and we most definitely were. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Black+Blue. We cannot wait to return!

My partner and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at Black+Blue, and it was a truly memorable experience! The ambiance was elegant, the food was delicious, and everything felt so well put together. What really made the evening special for us, though, was our incredible server, Fraser. He was absolutely fantastic—warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. He made us feel welcomed from the moment we sat down and was very knowledgeable about the menu. His service elevated the entire experience. To top it all off, the restaurant surprised us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary—such a thoughtful and sweet gesture! Thank you, Black+Blue (and Fraser!) for making our special day even more special. We’ll definitely be back. 😊

We went to celebrate my brother’s birthday and had such a memorable experience thanks to Kent and Lisa. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. Kent especially went above and beyond to make the evening special for our group. His attention to detail and warm energy really stood out and made a difference. The food was absolutely incredible. The mac and cheese sticks was rich and comforting, the tableside Caesar salad was such a fun and flavorful touch, and the wagyu fried rice was packed with so much flavor it quickly became a favorite. The New York strip loin was cooked to perfection and was a definite highlight at the table. It was such a great night, and the service played a huge role in making it feel special. Thank you again to Kent and Lisa for making the birthday celebration so memorable! We’ll definitely be coming back.

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday dinner at Black+Blue in Vancouver, and it was truly a five-star experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was elegant yet inviting, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed warmly and made to feel like valued guests. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Whether it was the perfectly seared steak, the delicious sides, or the decadent dessert to finish off the evening, everything exceeded my expectations. You can really tell that attention to quality and detail is a top priority here. The service was equally impressive. Our server, Sasha, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations that we were so glad we took. The team made sure everything ran smoothly and added thoughtful touches that made the evening feel even more special. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner, and I will definitely be returning to Black+Blue in the future.

We celebrated a friends Bach here and everything was perfect. Our booking coordinator, Lorena, was fast to respond, ensured dietary restrictions were taken into account, and offered great suggestions. She made the booking experience so easy. Our experience on the day of was fantastic. Our server had a good grasp on our needs, communicated well, and ensured we had everything we needed. Food, drinks, service, atmosphere - everything you could want from a high level restaurant. Thank you so much for this unforgettable experience!

Definitely one of my favourites in Vancouver. I've been here at least six times and always had a great experience. The oysters are fresh, the beef Wellington is tender and rich, and the cheese sticks are dangerously good. But what I like most is the service. Every time I come, the staff are warm and genuinely welcoming. Once I came during lunch and asked about the beef Wellington, even though it wasn't on the menu at that time. The server smiled and said it was his favourite too, and they still made it for me. That small gesture really stayed with me. The Wagyu I tried once was beautifully presented, though a bit rich for my taste. What really stood out was how the manager personally came over, explained the cut, and made sure everything felt right. You don't get that kind of thoughtful follow-up everywhere. The vibe is also beautiful. I love the lighting, especially on the rooftop. There were soft hanging lights and the whole space felt calm and a little dreamy. It always makes me feel comfortable and taken care of. This isn't just about food, it's about how they treat people. And that's why I keep coming back.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Black+Blue during their happy hour, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we checked in, the host warmly wished me a happy birthday. Our server, Ryan, was exceptional. The table was thoughtfully prepared with a birthday card from the restaurant, adding a special touch to the evening. We indulged in the Happy Hour Prime Rib, which was absolutely delicious. Ryan's attentiveness ensured that everything met our expectations, and his service truly stood out. Every staff member who visited our table took the time to wish me a happy birthday, making me feel incredibly special. Overall, the service at Black+Blue was outstanding, and Ryan's dedication made my birthday dinner perfect. Highly recommend!

We celebrated our birthdays on the rooftop last night, and it was a great experience. The food was amazing as always, They over cooked my medium rare steak a little though. Service was good, and the rooftop has such a relaxing atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a special evening with people I love.

Yelp
What an amazing dinner. The Wagyu was just spectacular, the service attentive and the atmosphere was beautiful. This was our first visit definitely wont be the last. Thank you to Arti, Tefiane & Conny for creating a memorable evening.

Yelp
Amazing service from start to finish! Our server, Igor, was especially attentive and made the experience even better. The food was fantastic, and the drinks were served at the perfect temperature. I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Loved dining on the beautiful upstairs rooftop patio that feels like a hit of an enchanted forest. We came here for the Buy Up Wagyu event which was an exceptional value. The Glowbal group rarely disappoints with the amazing service, delicious cuts of meats and tantalizing side dishes. You had the option to pair everything with a wine tasting for $30 but we opted just for the standard fare. We had our steamed cooked to a nice medium which was spot on for temp. Every dish was fantastic and was more than we could finish in one sitting. Definitely will want to come hungry. Can't wait to try some of their future specials.

Yelp
We came for happy hour on a Thursday. Unfortunately for us, the patio was closed till Friday but we still had s good time downstairs. Our server was super nice and helpful. Very patient with us which was much appreciated. We got an array of items but our favourites had to be the prime rib happy hour (meat was very tender and flavourful), the clams (sauce went so well with the crispy bread), beef sliders (perfect snack size) and the Phyllo Prawns (crispy and not overcooked). I would pass on the fried mac & cheese next time as well as the stuffed yorkie. The nachos are a very generous portion (good for big groups) and calamari was your standard run of the mill calamari (nothing special but if you feel like you need more food I would chose this over the mac &cheese and the stuffed yorkie). As for drinks, we had the margarita and the spicy pineapple mule. Both were good but I would definitely get the spicy pineapple mule again. Had a nice kick to it and wasn't too sweet. Very addictive Overall great service and I loved how big the menu was. Next time I would come back to try the carpaccio pizza.

Yelp
Such an amazing visit for happy hour. Reservations were easy and they also call to check-in a few days ahead for a reminder. The mussels were our favourite item of the night because they were SO good. Super fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection. The other star of the night was the prime rib special! $39 for 12oz of delicious prime rib with sides! What a steal! Other honorable mentions are the jerk chicken flatbread, wagyu carpaccio, and yorkshire pudding bites! Staff was super friendly, attentive and there is paid street parking out front. I would mention ahead of time if mobility is an issue as most of their happy hour seating is upstairs and I'm not sure if they had an elevator.

Yelp
I hadn't had a great overall dining experience in a while until I came to Black & Blue. Food: 5+/5 - we dined during happy hour. We started with the Steak house Nachos and it was like no other nachos ever. Different and tasty. We had the prime rib special and it was cooked to perfection. The meat was melted in our mouths. We ended up ending the meal with Banana Foster flambé. They gave us a complimentary birthday dessert of butter cake which was heavenly. If you enjoy meat and seafood, this is the place for you. Service: 5/5 - service was fantastic. They refilled our water glasses frequently and asked if we needed anything. Ambiance: 5/5 - the place felt festive with plenty of holiday decor. A great place to dine with family and friends. Overall a great place to dine!

Yelp
Wife and I did the Dine Out Vancouver bc back in January 24 and very disappointed with the striploin steak. Tough and very lean. I can easily cook a better tasting one too! Low class of meat. Likely because it is Dine Out! Appy, drinks & dessert are just decent nothing outstanding. I heard lots of good thing about B&B but this 1st time experience will just make me to not become a regular. Sorry but recommending you.

Yelp
i made a reservation for happy hour at black & blue at 4:45 pm on a thursday, for a party of four, as a couple of people in our party were interested in the $39 happy hour prime rib special. there was some initial confusion as we discovered the prime rib happy hour is only available in the dining room, and not the rooftop. while this was disappointing at first, the dining room's festive ambiance quickly won us over. upon arriving, there was a short backlog at the front desk. the hostess eventually greeted me and, in a thoughtful gesture, asked for the proper spelling of the birthday girl's name, but unfortunately, her name didn't make it onto the dessert plate. black & blue exudes elegance, especially during the holiday season. the space is adorned with lavish decor, including a striking golden bull sculpture surrounded by garlands glowing with white lights, gold and black baubles, and ribbons. the dining room is equally polished, with crisp white table linens, sparkling glassware, and towering wine racks creating a sophisticated yet celebratory vibe. a warmly lit bar area adds to the charm, and a beautifully decorated christmas tree in the background completes the festive feel. one of the standout features is their incredible dry aging meat display. large racks of ribs are encased in glass, glowing against a backdrop of himalayan salt. it's a unique touch that showcases their commitment to quality and becomes an instant conversation piece. for our meal, two of us ordered the happy hour prime rib, while the rest of the group opted for dishes like the stuffed yorkie, phyllo prawns, steamed mussels, beef sliders, and a beef carpaccio pizza. the pizza was served on a thin, crisp flatbread with arugula, chimichurri, and mustard aioli, a delicious combination of textures and flavours. everyone seemed happy with their choices, though one person who had the prime rib felt unwell later and noted they were charged $6 for extra jus, which felt excessive. service was attentive, with multiple staff checking in on us throughout the meal. however, our reservation indicated we had the table until 7:15 pm, but by 6:30 pm, a staff member arrived unprompted with the bill and a point of sale machine. it felt a bit rushed, which left a sour note on an otherwise enjoyable experience.

Yelp
We came for their Sunday Prime Rib Dinner including Caesar salad, slow-roasted Prime Rib, Yorkshire pudding, and butter cake! It kinda reminds us of the Sunday roast back in London. The food was good and the portion was big, the Ceaser was ok. We ordered creme brulee, which was so good. Also, we ordered Tableside Steak Tartare which was so tasty . The service and ambiance were good.

Yelp
This was an okay experience. Ordered A5 wagyu which was delicious and ordered a few orders of the lobster. Odd display for the lobsters I would have preferred a full tail. I think our server was new she wasn't very attentive and she could have upsold us better (the bill was over 1k - non issue, so keep selling) It was a rainy rooftop evening and they had issues with regulating heat and cold so some tables were cold while others were hot so our fire got turned off which was apart of the ambiance. Oysters were good. Service could use a revamp

Yelp
Beautiful upscale, intimate eatery with a modern, sophisticated aesthetic, a reputation for perfectly grilled steak, and impeccable service. My partner and I visited Black and Blue as a little treat to ourselves during our trip to Vancouver. Neither of us had ever before frequented a place as luxurious as this, so we didn't know what to expect, but we both highly enjoyed our experience. Food was delicious, though understandably pricey. We weren't in the mood for a steak dinner (though I regret not trying their Wagyu) so we ended up ordering: - Salt Brick Chicken ($42 CAD): with lemon and thyme; super moist and flavorful. I wish the lemon and thyme had more of a presence because the flavors were barely there in the jus. The chicken was deletectably tender, however. - Crispy Brussels Sprouts ($14 CAD): came with capers, parmesan, chilis, and lemon. Crispy yet tender and the bite of the capers provide a delightful contrast. - Lobster Mashed Potatoes ($36 CAD): My partner and I's favorite side. Silky smooth, airy, buttery mashed potatoes complimented by the rich butter meat of an Atlantic lobster. All of the menu options paired wonderfully together. I appreciate that, despite them being known for their steak, they also offer a variety of poultry and seafood options. The absolute star of our dinner was our waiter Lloyd. He went above and beyond in making sure our evening was enjoyable and definitely raised the bar for good service. Since this was a rare night out for my partner and I, we asked Lloyd to help us take photos in the restaurant after we finished eating and luckily, Lloyd was also a great photographer as well. I would definitely return for another "treat yourself" dinner, provided Lloyd is our server.

Yelp
We had a delightful experience at Black+Blues. We were seated in the upstairs area of the dining room, which is quieter and much more intimate than the downstairs. Our server, Will, was perfect. We started with the Caesar Salad and French Onion Soup. Both were absolute classics. The Caesar was made tableside, and was one of the best I've had in years, with all the traditional ingredients, plus a touch of capers and Tabasco. The prime ptriploin was good, but the standout entry was actually the salt brick chicken, which was incredibly tender, and topped with a delicious lemon & thyme chicken jus. The fries are excellent. The spinach is whole-leaf, sauteed, and a bit wet; not my favorite. The wine list offers a broad selection of varietals and regions, although no depth of vintages.

Yelp
Came in with high expectation given all the rave reviews, however everybody left feeling quite disappointed. Later on I would heard from other people that Black and Blue can be quite inconsistent. Our cowboy rib eye ($139) was over cooked and quite tough to chew, not a good introduction to Canadian beef. Similarly, the halibut ($48) was bland with watery sides. Service and ambiance were quite nice, we got patio seats during the warm summer season.

Yelp
Ambiance and Decor: Upon checking in at the front desk, you are whisked away into a slow elevator adorned with a fake plant ceiling and a dim-LED light string both of which have clearly seen better days. After the one-minute ride up three or four floors, you're greeted by another host desk ready to guide you to your table. As you walk down a long hallway, you finally enter the rooftop restaurant area. Despite being on a rooftop, the dark ambiance was surprising. Thankfully, we were seated in an open area bathed in sunlight. While the restaurant's decor was trendy five years ago, it now needs a refresh. The tables, chairs, flooring, and especially the fake plants could all use an update. Service Quality: After being seated, we were quickly introduced to our waiter for the evening. He seemed stressed and rushed, likely due to covering a larger area than usual or filling in for another staff member. Despite this, he took our orders promptly and without any mistakes. However, his demeanor could have been more friendly and welcoming. Menu Variety: We visited during Happy Hour and were pleased with the wide variety of options available, which seemed more extensive than other Glowbal Group offerings for Happy Hour. The menu caters to diverse tastes, ensuring there's something for everyone. Food Presentation: The food arrived promptly and was presented adequately, though it lacked a touch of care. We ordered two fresh oysters, but the garnish seemed reused or lackluster. Overall, while the presentation was decent, it didn't impress. Food Taste and Quality: The high volume of patrons likely impacts the food quality, resulting in a mediocre experience. The quick cooking aimed at high table turnover seemed to compromise the flavor. Some dishes could have used more salt, and the presentation possibly influenced the taste. The small bowl of red onions that accompanied the oysters barely had a spoonful. The nachos were disappointing, with all the toppings at the bottom. The sliders were saved by their light and fluffy bread, while the calamari, likely frozen, was fried yet still chewy. Drink Selection: We ordered a couple of cocktails, which were flavorful and had the right amount of alcohol. The drink selection was a highlight of the visit. Price and Value: The appetizers and drinks were reasonably priced. While the presentation and taste could improve, the pricing was fair for what we received. Overall Experience and Recommendation: This was my first and likely last visit to The Roof at Black & Blue. While the drinks were good, the appetizers were hit or miss. I recommend trying Coast next door, another restaurant in the Glowbal Group, which likely offers a better Happy Hour experience.

Yelp
I don't understand the hype when it comes to black and blue. Unfortunately, I think that the glowbal group has really gone down in terms of service in the recent years. Truly, the only good experience I've had out of all of their restaurants is at coast with exceptional service... now back to black & blue. The service was not very quick or extremely friendly even though they weren't very busy at the time in which I went. I really like their steak display but other than that, I feel like they could brighten up the place a bit. The food was good as are a lot of restaurants in Vancouver, but I think that nothing really stood out. The steak quality was good, but once again was not exceptional. I think there are a few better steakhouses in Vancouver to visit, but I'm also very spoiled and picky with my steak as I've had the best in Calgary and Texas. Unfortunately, Vancouver can't really compare to the steak kings of North America. Tableside Caesar is a really nice touch if you're looking for a good appetizer to order and the side of lobster mashed potatoes is a must. Enjoy your date night at Black and blue and stop by the rooftop afterwards for drinks.

Yelp
Happy hour is the move! Their roof top is so cute, service was great, wagyu is delicious, drinks yummy. Everyone was happy and the vibes were stellar!

Yelp
Had a great happy hour stop at the rooftop here. When we got there, it was fancier than I was expecting and I was a little worried I wasn't dressed appropriately, but the rooftop was casual enough, I was fine. We grabbed a couple of drinks, some oysters, and our server suggested the calamari. Everything was fantastic and I'd go again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend for happy hour if in Vancouver!

Yelp
My partner and I came here for a Valentine's dinner to have their Wagyu Tasting Menu. We both got a different appetizer so we could try both. The Tableside Wagyu Thai Beef Salad was really good. The vegetables and dressing melded together wonderfully and the flavours felt really authentic. The Wagyu Beef Carpaccio was also really good but not anything special. The grilled sourdough was cold, which made it too hard for my soft mouth. The entrée was a "Wagyu Trio" -- Canadian Prime, Australian Wagyu, and Japanese A5 Wagyu. After this tasting, I don't think I would purchase any other wagyu than Japanese. The difference between the Japanese wagyu and the other two were stark. It was several leagues above the two in flavour, tenderness, and juiciness--making you wonder how the other two are even the same cow breed. They also gave two sauces for the steak -- a red wine jus and yuzu miso butter. I preferred the red wine jus as the yuzu miso butter felt too "cheesy" for my taste. The sides for the table were okay. The Sautéed Green Beans were my favourite--extremely flavourful and well-cooked. The B+B Wagyu Fried Rice was mediocre at best--dry and barely had flavour. The Roasted Root Vegetables were absolutely abhorrent and I can't believe they're serving that for humans to eat. I felt like I was becoming the cattle I was eating. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was scrumptious! Ice cream was amazing and pudding was perfectly soft and moist. They give what I thought was tuile as well but it was extremely hard and I was a hair away from spitting it out. The service was amazing. My partner was carrying flowers and they coat checked the flowers for us (but not our coats? lol). Servers were very attentive. Ambiance was okay. The tables are too cramped together for an intimate dinner out. The table lamps needed for how dark it was but were annoying.

Yelp
Black & Blue offers a chic dining experience with its great ambiance, making it an ideal spot for a romantic date night. The sexy mood lighting enhances the atmosphere, setting the stage for an intimate evening. The customer service was top-notch, with servers going the extra mile to guide patrons through the steak selection process, providing explanations and examples. The wide array of wines adds to the appeal, and my choice of a sweet dessert wine proved to be a tasty accompaniment. The steak itself was a standout, impressively buttery and well-seasoned. The lobster mashed potatoes were a gastronomic delight - the lobster was rich and buttery, perfectly complementing the light and fluffy texture of the mashed potatoes. However, the notable downside was the high price point. While the quality of the food and the overall experience is commendable, the cost seemed to be on the steeper side, making it more of a "treat yourself" than a regular dining destination. Despite the enjoyable evening, the overrated and overpriced nature of the restaurant might deter me from making a return visit.

Yelp
Steakhouse Bliss in Downtown Vancouver: Celebrating Another Year with Fine Dining, Fantastic Service, and Unforgettable Cocktails. Visited The Roof Black & Blue for my birthday and I would highly recommend it for special occasions We Tried: Crispy Calamari $23 Canadian Prime New York Stripling $72 (14oz) Trio of Sauces $14 Fries $12 Burrata $29 Black & Blue Buttercake Lychee Cocktail (I don't remember the name ) All the dishes were delicious. The strawberry lychee cocktail was one of the best drinks I've ever had! The delicious black & blue buttercake had the perfect level of sweetness and was moist Food 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Parking Service 5/5

Yelp
Service was awesome. The ambience is great with dark paneling and this big golden cow. We ordered the chateaubriand for two. It was cooked a perfect medium rare but it was dry. You really needed the dipping causes. The lobster mash was perfectly seasoned and the Brussel sprouts had a nice tart Tang from the capers and vinegrette. The Basque cheesecake was tasty. The signature butter cake struck me as more of a corn bread texture. Pricey but Worth it

Yelp
Weird chose to sit at the bar and glad we did. We got to meet Malcom, our awesome bartender. The food was delicious--I've never had calamari so tender. The wild mushroom risotto was delicious--whether you go for the meat or not. Speaking of which, our prime rib was perfectly cooked, tender and tasty. The phyllo wrapped prawns were a favorite. The ambiance was upscale, but not too much--no TVs which enables a fully mindful and present experience. We will be back

Yelp
Great happy hour downtown! The restaurant is very nice and classy and we made a reservation for two very easily. Service was prompt and attentive. We loved the nachos, Mac and cheese sticks and the calamari. The happy hour drinks were also delicious.

Yelp
A Prime Ribeye Experience Nestled in the heart of downtown, this steakhouse promises a carnivorous journey worth savoring. The ribeye, expertly grilled to a perfect medium-rare, boasted a charred exterior giving way to a tender, juicy center. Served alongside roasted garlic mashed potatoes and buttery grilled asparagus, every element of the dish harmonized beautifully.

Yelp
Service is very good here. Had a drink and some happy hour bites at "The Roof" on a Friday afternoon. Staff are very informative and helping. Next time I will try their dinner menu. I suggest getting a couple orders of the Mac and cheese sticks. Probably the best thing on the menu. They have a great view of downtown with a calming ambiance.

Yelp
This was a last minute recommendation by our hotel and we are glad we went. From the salad to the sides everything was on point. They only thing that I wasn't wowed by was the dessert. The customer service was just ok and not that friendly. Very nice restaurant inside and great rooftop seating for nice weather.

Yelp
While I'm not keen on steak house cuisine I can appreciate the presentation and concept of protein mains and a la carte accompaniments. Located on restaurant row close to Burrard and Alberni, the exterior is quite deceiving. This restaurant reminds me of Joe Fortes as it has valet parking, a large bar area upon entry plus two tiers of seating with a large open staircase ascending to the top level. Decidedly more contemporary and a much younger crowd. The restaurant is quite big and busy. We had a group reservation, when we arrived the table was ready to go. Serving staff was excellent and very solicitous of our needs. We shared an excellent calamari appetizer, which was a little spicy, but very good. Our table ordered a good range of mains, salmon, halibut, chicken and risotto. I found the risotto to be quite good but a little heavy on the mushrooms. My companions all enjoyed their meals. Our beverages were also good, prices on par with other downtown restaurants. Overall a good meal, probably would dine there again.

Yelp
This place is rather overrated and overpriced. The place itself has a classy ambiance and is great for a fancy dinner. The service was also great, and the sommelier and waiter were knowledgeable. They brought out the different cuts and explained to us the nuances. However we asked for medium rare and the steak was overcooked.

Yelp
This dinner almost turned out to be a bad decision based on the service but management quickly turned that around. Our original server Shelby seemed to be overwhelmed with the party that we had. Not the best attitude and was extremely rude. Once I spoke to Management they were very adamant on righting their wrong. They turned service over to Erica who was much more professional she was the highlight of the night. Very amazing personality and responsive. I should have expected that the food would have taken a while considering it was a steak house. If your hungry this isn't the place for you, we waited over an 1 hour 25 mins and was throughly disappointed. The asparagus never came with the salmon that came and extra 15 mins later. The Burrata had hair in it and needed to be sent back. And last but not least I order the cowboy steak medium well and it came out well done. They removed it off the bill but for already have an terrible experience to start with I was hoping the food made up for it. They did bring out a smaller cut which had amazing flavor was still semi over cooked and the ends were overly burnt but by that time had to eat so I ate it. I don't want to ruin your near future selection as you could have a different experience. Please come see it for your self. And enjoy to the best of your ability.

Yelp
Lloyd made our experience amazing! He had excellent recommendations, remembered our names throughout the meal, and even gave us his favorite dessert on the house at the end. We tried food items we'd never had before, including Wagyu carpaccio, tableside steak tartare, Wagyu stripsteak, and Beef Wellington. All of the dishes were amazing and cooked to perfection. The lighting, table service, and level of noise in the restaurant were perfect. Just bright enough to make us all look fabulous, sommelier and tableside service were excellent, and we could hear each other talk without yelling while at the same time couldn't hear other conversations around us. This was our first time visiting this establishment, but certainly won't be the last. Thanks for the warm welcome, Lloyd!

Yelp
Went to Black & Blue for their happy hour and I really enjoyed the experience! The rooftop was gorgeous and service was attentive despite the heatwave Moscow Mule Red Sangria Steak Nachos Ahi Tuna Tartar Steamed Mussels The portions were HUGE which we were pleasantly surprised by and we spent around $22 per person. My favourite dish has to be the tuna tartar as it was so fresh and delicious! The steak nachos were addicting too but a little bit on the salty side. The steamed mussels were beautifully cooked as well. I'll definitely be back to try their other happy hour items!

so we really wanted to like this place. The set up is pretty nice, very picturesque and it's nice on a day when you can sit outside. One of the concerns that I definitely could see them having is on the patio where they kept trying to sit people in the sun. I saw at least five tables, ourselves included, that asked to move to somewhere where it was more tolerable. We ended up here for the happy hour. The food was just OK. The beef carpaccio was nice, a little bit of the sauces on top seem to be fairly overdone. Did not really taste much of the beef itself, but it was pretty good. Nothing in terms of the food really stood out. The oysters were OK but did not taste all that fresh. Honestly, the saving grace was Sebastian,. He was our server but also the bartender. His drinks were pretty on point, he even made us a special drink to complement the dessert that we had for my birthday. He was friendly, warm and quite helpful in terms of the menu. All in all, not particularly the most amazing experience but because of Sebastian, it was somewhat saved. The atmosphere is also quite nice, provided you can sit somewhere in the shade at least on the rooftop.

Yelp
Sat outside on the makeshift "patio" with the sidewalk cutting through. From time to time, throngs of tourists would wonder through the outdoor "dining area". Not the fanciest setup. But being outdoors was pleasant. Had the burger and beer special, calamari and wagyu carpaccio. There was really nothing to complain. Decent value and experience. Great service. Soooo full.....Recommend it. #blackandblue #black+blue #globwal #tgif #happyhour

Yelp
entered the restaurant in a hangry-travel-too-long mood, and, boom!, relaxed into a perfect negroni, followed by a wonderful salad, a perfectly cooked steak, and crème brûlée. so good.

Yelp
Spent my evening at the bar in Rooftop. We were served by the bartender Egor who was an absolute joy. He was a great conversationalist, yet very quick and efficient at his job. Egor really made the experience worth it. He made amazing food suggestions- ordered everything and it was to die for. I would go back just to sit at the bar and eat again. He's a great attribute to the team!

Yelp
Great food, fantastic drinks, a bit pricey but ambiance is really good especially on the third floor with the fire pit/heaters.

Yelp
When the rumor is true they have a burger and beer for $17 on Friday before 2pm you go! And this is why ... the B+B Burger is a 10 oz in house ground beef ( known for their Kobe beef) that is served medium topped with onion rings, aged cheddar cheese, black pepper aioli, lettuce, tomato, pickles and fries! We added bacon and there was four stripes of perfectly cooked bacon. Nom nom nom but this bad boy was HUGE! Will definitely go back.

Yelp
My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday and brought me here. He said dress fancy and I'll blindly lead you to dinner. He had me put Burrard street on the GPS and when we walked in, he turned to the ladies behind the desk and said "the reservation at 8 for the roof please." They pointed to take the elevator and we walked in. I walked in confused and taking everything in. Then the hostess sat us down and introduced us to our waitress, Rachel. She was lovely and recommended some really amazing things! For our meat we had rib eye, Mac and cheese stick and more!! It was delicious! I was surprised at how well marinated the meat was!! Also let's not forget the drinks!!! If you live for alcohol, then I'd highly recommend it!!! It's a good compliment to the meal!! Also had the butter cake and chocolate ecstasy for dessert!!! I'm in love!!! Thank you Black and blue!! Also thank you to Rachel! We love this place!!!

Yelp
Reservation was made saying I was bringing my service dog with me. We were sat at a table and ordered and then the manager or someone came up and said we had to move due to the service dog. Again I stated I was brining he ran do am legally blind so having to move around a dimly lit restaurant isn't the easier for me and up and down stairs as well... so not a good beginning to our meal. I had paid for the wagyu special ahead of time. I can compare the food and service to Elisa as we have eaten there many tines. This was our first time at Black and Blie. So we began with the wagyu carpaccio which was very generous and the Thai wagyu salad tossed a the table which was very large. Both were tasty although I preferred the carpaccioo. Then it came with three pieces of steak and sides of wagyu fried rice, green beans and roasted root vegetables. Again very generous servings of all items. Also came with two sauces for the beef. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and whipped cream another large portion and nicely when one of us was gluten free they brought a large dish of berry sorbet as well. Overall the service was ok but not near Elisa's. The food also ok and great value for 90 per person. Just not up to Elisa's flavour or quality either.

Yelp
I came here as a recommendation from a friend. Let me start with the atmosphere was a vibe. The music was just the right volume. Upon entry we were greeted warmly and taken right away to our seat. We were seated by the stairs which was ok, next time I probably would request the 3rd floor. We ordered an appetizer off the happy hour menu and it was decent, definitely not memorable because I can't recall the name lol I ordered a margarita and when I telllll you it was bitter, I almost drizzled it back in the cup. *insert tears* they brought over some simple syrup that cut the bitterness and the second margarita was much better. But still not the same as say the hotel. Anyway, entrees were the saving grace. The halibut was flaky and tasty, the beef Wellington was a definite show stopper. I had the b&b baked potato, it was more in line with a twice baked potato with truffles across the top. Our server was a little slow but overall it was a great meal and very reasonably priced. Desert almost forgot the butter cream cake was amazing!

Yelp
Our 'Châteaubriand for Two' was cooked to perfection... our medium-rare tenderloin centre cut roast-steak was amazingly delicious! We also had two side dishes: B&B Millionaire Baked Potato & Asparagus. Otherwise, the Entrée plate would be sparse with only a half Herbed Roasted Tomato, Shallots & Pickled Mixed Veggies. Our two Appetizers were Ahi Tuna Crudo & Heirloom Beets Salad. For my birthday celebration, Marcel brought out their Complimentary Mini Black + Blue Butter-cake with a lit candle and a "Happy Birthday!" Wish for me! Ambiance was lively and the restaurant was nicely decorated with a fantastic focal wall! At peak dinner-time, it was noisy! To enjoy a romantic evening, best to request for a quiet area with your reservations. It also looked to be quite challenging for the Servers with the side serving tables but they were such professionals and they made it work. Service was top-notched from the Floor Manager, Phillip to our Server, Marcel. Even the other Server, Sebastian was helpful. They were a great team and they made us feel special and our dining experience memorable!! Highly recommended..

Yelp
***Off the bat, you should know everything is a la carte style. Your main entree comes by itself, and if you want starch &/or vegetables, or even a sauce, you need to order those individually. And if you forget your reading glasses, make sure when you order the steaks, you notice that they are priced per ounce and then you choose the size of the steak. So READ the fine print!! My friends and I were seated on the rooftop section. We thought it was going to be too cold to sit up there, but you don't even notice that you are outside! It's all covered that's a Pergola Style roof and decorated with vines and flowers and lights to set the ambiance. Plus there's a wall of glass fireplaces, Plus heaters around. Sometimes you get a breeze through the ceiling but it's nice and refreshing. Okay on to the food! I had an 8 oz top sirloin, my friend or the strip sirloin 14 oz, and both of these steaks, we requested cooked medium, they were both more on the medium rare side, everybody's interpretation of medium and medium rare is different. But both steaks were amazing! They were moist and tender!!!! and flavorful. Very delicious steaks. Another friend ordered the eggplant, it smelled so good she said it was excellent, as were the scallops ordered by another friend. The brussels sprouts were tasty however we were so full we couldn't finish them. Overall the dining experience was beautiful and the food was very good.

Yelp
The patio is absolutely stunning and the vibes + service is impeccable. Unfortunately, the food isn't on that level - it is mediocre at best. Nothing has a wow factor here or even meet the expectations of such a pricey place. Everything is just okay... but the portions are huge so be careful of over ordering. I would still come back because the vibes is just exceptional... and the portions are big and pretty cheap during happy hour.
