We’re from Georgia, and we do love our BBQ! This was fantastic!! Fall off the bone tasty ribs, great brisket and pulled pork! Generous portions! The slaw and beans were really delicious! I usually don’t eat many bbq beans( so many just open a can and heat), but these were well seasoned and hearty!

Smokey, tender, delicious bbq served with a big scoop of friendliness. I eat bbq all over the place & I must say that BlackJaxx Bbq served some great bbq. The ribs, brisket & pulled pork 3 meat plate was very filling. The beans and slaw were very good & I highly recommend eating here when your in Homer.

First time we have been through a "drive through" food truck and it was awesome! We stopped by after a long day on a charter fishing trip and picked up dinner to take home. We advised them that we're from Kansas City, and it's hard to beat KC BBQ, but I will confess this was GREAT BBQ. We had ribs, pulled pork, and chicken and sides of beans and slaw. Huge portions. We had enough leftover for the next night as well. Great food, great value.

First time stopping at the Homer location. It was just as good as the other location. It is by the Homer Ice Rink so one of the few spots on the spit with actual parking. They have a few tables outside but was too windy for us. We ended up eating the food at the local brewery and paired perfectly together.

Better than any BBQ I’ve had in Anchorage! This place slaps EVERY TIME! Arrived hungry, left full and still had food left for later. This stop is a must if you’re visiting the spit.

Excellent barbecue! Have everything from smoked brisket to ribs, chicken, pulled pork, sausage and more. We highly recommend this food truck. Jim and his wife are super nice people!

This place is so good! Best value on the spit and great flavor. Big servings. I dont even like baked beans and yet i order a double portion here. And the ribs have a fantastic smoky flavor that needs no sauce. We always stop here on summer trips to Homer. In 2025 a new BBQ truck opened in town. I tried it for comparison. At each I bought a 3 meat plate. The 3 meat plate from the comptetion was good but was $4 more than here, with much smaller sizes than BlackJaxx. Blackjaxx is better flavor, and they allow ribs as part of the meat options. I ate the competitions entire plate and left still hungry. I've NEVER eaten a three meat plate from Blackjaxx in one sitting. You cannot go wrong eating here!

I thought the food was amazing.... I had the snack pack with pulled pork...beans a little sweet but that's just my preference. My husband had brisket sandwich which was huge...sides are delicious

The food here is always delicious! Doesn't matter what you order, it's gonna be bomb! If you catch them, don't miss your opportunity to get a meal, they're only in Homer for the summer months!

We had a large family and friends ( 60-70 people) get together in Homer, June 2024. Judy with BlackJaxx catered it for us and she did an outstanding job. She is such a sweetheart and worked very hard to helped make everything go smoothly for us. All of the food, brisket, chicken and pulled pork was excellent as was all the sides. Thank You So Very Much!

Every summer my husband and I go here! We are foodies and they make amazing BBQ. I like that you can buy their sauces. We will keep going!

Great bbq. This is a food truck so expect that kind of situation. The food is excellent, we had ribs, chicken, and brisket. The sides were also pretty good. The ladies who work it are super nice and friendly. The prices are also very fair.

Wow, this place is great! My wife and I consider ourselves BBQ fanatics, as such we like to try local BBQ whenever we travel and have attended some of the biggest rib cook offs in the country. We have been to most of the BBQ hot spots in the country and these little ladies can compete with the Big Boys of BBQ. We both ordered the Three meat dinners which allowed us to try the ribs, chicken and sausage all were prepared perfectly, the moist meat fell off the bones. The rub was more smokey and not too peppered and nicely accompanied by the home made sauces. I don't Often include the side dishes in my reviews , but the coleslaw and beans were of this world. The two ladies who were working are super friendly and helpful. You can find this gem in front of the ice arena on the Homer Spit.

Decided to stop by with my screaming toddler. I went to park and the owner insisted I pull up and stay outta the cold wind. He was very nice and even gave my son a rib to calm him down. My son loves "sweet beans!" We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and double baked beans. Great big pulled pork sandwich. Tender pork, bbq sauce on the side (which I prefer), and the beans were the best sweet beans I've ever had. The beans also have tender chunks of pork in them as well. Great customer service, and the bbq is fantastic. I see why so many people from the CG boat on the pier frequent his bbq truck!

Great food, very nice service too. Great lunch specials. Probably the only bbq place that has rice as a side option. (I like rice).

I was really excited to try this place because I would love to have good bbq in homer but I was sadly greatly disappointed. I gave 2 stars because honestly the women who owns it is a total sweetheart and I really appreciated the service that was offered. We got the pulled pork and the brisket. The meat was over cooked and dry. The bbq sauce was also sickly sweet and lacked depth of flavor. Tasted more like a store bought sauce than something homemade. The potato salad was also overly sweet and lacked flavor. The baked beans were not bad but nothing amazing. The prices didn't bother me at all and were not a part of my review. Meat prices are high nationwide and buying groceries is expensive so I can't imagine it is easy for them. I may have come on an off day and will try again later in hopes that the meat won't be so dry and over cooked.

Bbq is so good here we stocked up for winter!!! Owners are very wonderful people and the food is so so so yummy!!!

I am usually picky with eating out or picking up orders, especially now with covid going on. But this one I just cannot let the summer go by without trying this place. Tonight is the night! Both my and hubby work FT and noone wants to cook! So I called ahead a day before and placed my order. Grabbed them afterwork and drove away to my little paradise in Alaska. I compare this place to Doc Q's pit in Modesto Ca. Baked beans and coleslaw was so good. I just wished they bake cornbread instead of Hawaiian roll then it makes it truly southern-ish. I hope they will add some bacon stir fry swisschards or green collards now were talking real Southern cooking. Southern eatin in Alaska! Sounds like a terrific idea ey?!

We threw a 35 person party and had a 10/10 experience with BlackJaxx. Judy was so helpful with our large catered order and all our guests ate finger-lickin good BBQ and left with full bellies. Highly, highly recommend. Super professional service, they even called me the next day to check up to see how our food and order was. Excellent service and tasty food, everyone was happy.

I have not visited this establishment but unfortunately sat beside a table of people all wearing clothing covered in black jaxx logos. They we're driving through Whitehorse having dinner at a local spot. They were condescending and rude to the very polite friendly server, then when she was told to tell them their truck and trailer was blocking another customers spot they rudely addressed the server. A second employee had to come and ask them to move their truck. They were very rude to that employe. Then they loudly threatened to dine and dash. Wow, such entitlement, and selfishness. I hope nobody treats your establishment with that kind of unpleasant

Absolutely delicious ribs and smoked chicken quarters. Pulled pork sandwich was really good too. The woman running the place was incredibly nice.

I adore a good smoked rib. Or two, or three. OMG. Black Jaxx Bar-B-Q has got it going ON! If you are hungry for smoked bbq ribs that actually melt in your mouth, look no further. The same can be said of the chicken. Crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth inside. And try the meat without the sauce FIRST. You'll not want to put any on, but you must, because it is the best you'll ever taste. And then the sides, the cole slaw is perfection, same goes for the baked beans. I'd give it more stars if I could. Thanks, and we'll for sure stop by your red truck in Soldotna too when passing through up there!

This is by far the best bbq food you'll find in Homer, AK! I've been a few times within two weeks and each time is always great. The brisket is delicious and especially the beans.

Sometimes you just want barbecue. I had heard good things about Jaxx, so we went to get a family picnic #1 (or something like that). It is designed to feed 3-5 people. They forgot to say "FOR 2 DAYS!" What a beautiful bunch of tender, smoky ribs, and since they were out of chicken, they substituted some delicious sausage and some pulled pork. It all came with 3 pint sides (potato salad, slaw, beans) and 4 little rolls. If you are in the mood for MEAT, go see these guys on the Spit, in front of the Kevin Bell Arena. We've had Texas BBQ, and I think this guy is from Louisiana, but he knows what he is doing. 4 1/2 stars for sure.

Very disappointing. The sausage was cheap store bought not even reindeer or better grade. Everything was way too salty. 1 pound of meat and 3 sides was $50. This place used to be good in past years....I don't know if the owners have changed but it will be our last meal there

The best sweet (non-vinegar) bbq from North Carolina to Alaska. Try bologna brisket or pulled pork sandwich. Enjoyed special recipe baked beans and coleslaw the most! So glad we randomly stopped!
