Great hostel, would really recommend this place!! What's good? * Chill and calm place. Perfect to come home to after a tiresome day or if you been partying. * Great staff * Good social areas * Clean, organized and hot shower * You can meet a lot of cool people here! * Great kitchen for cooking! What could be better? (5 🌟....) * Breakfast, only a small portion is served early in the morning. I would love to pay a little more for an upgraded fresh breakfast, but that was not possible. * introduce laundry service... but they have a place where you can wash (by hand) and hang your clothes.

Stayed four nights at Black pine and had four good nights sleep. Comfy beds and pillows in dorms, clean (and new) sheets. Great kitchen. Bathrooms cleaned well in the morning, and there is a good size communal bathroom - plenty of showers and loos. Good breakfast in the morning too. Well thought out hostel!

Clean, chill, and ideally located. Far away from partying and noise if you need some time to recoup after having a big few days in Medellin but you're not quite ready to leave. This is a good place to relax and venture out from on your Colombian adventures. Not a party hostel but full of cool people. About a 15-20 minute walk to Lleras where the action is.

About the Cafe, coffee they serve is delicious! Espresso or American, capuccino which is my favorite, latte or mokaccino, any of them are fantastic, they offer their own coffee brand and also desserts made with chocolate (terrific taste!), coffee or carrots. They also offer lunch options which change everyday and are out of the ordinary, simply VERY tasty. Recommended. Nice place to spend free time alone or with friends drinking a coffee or also a beer in a quiet environment and good music.

This hostel is for those that want nice, quiet nights in. W/that being said, that is what my review is based on: Probably one of the cleanest, most beautiful, cute, quiet hostels I've stayed at. Run by some super cool young Colombians, who are SO helpful & SO nice - it's trendy & clean, only been open for 6 mos or so (small house set-up). The kitchen is huge, the outdoor patio is decorated, and the bathrooms make you feel like you're in a luxury hotel. The dorms are all comfy & clean, with wooden fixtures, comfy beds, lights & outlets in every single bunk! I would 200% recommend that anyone & everyone stay here. It's about 15 minute walk from Lleras/Poblado parques, so not right in the middle of the madness, but in a nice quiet part of the barrio (Patio Bonito in Poblado). They were even SO generous as to keep my small bag in safekeeping for 5 days while I went to Cali - true, kind Colombian spirits, these ones ;) Fantastic job, Black Pine!

Good value for money in Poblado area! BlackPine is a nice backpackers style hostel in really good location at Poblado area. It is in walking distance to Poblado metro station and you can also walk to the Poblado park or to Lleras park to visit restaurants or for night life. Hostel has dormitory rooms and also some private rooms. We had double private room with shared bathroom. Room was basic but clean and comfy. Shared areas and bathrooms were nicely taken care of and clean. There was hot water and also WiFi was working great. Staff were very friendly, spoke good english and gave information and tips about things to do in Medellin. They also organised us a transport from airport that wasn't too pricy. They have nice kitchenette for preparing your own meals if you want but there is also a cafeteria on the ground floor where you can have a breakfast. There was no AC, but as the nights were not too hot it was no problem for us. We keep the window open over the nights and had no problems with mosquitoes.

Definitely a refreshing place to stay in case you feel like staying in Poblado, and yet stay away from all the noise. A great location, close to Exito, Poblado Metro Station, and plenty of restaurants. The staff is incredibly nice and kind, rooms are very cozy and comfortable, the kitchen space is great, and quietness and tranquility are such great assets to this original and authentic place.
