Waterscape Floating Apartments

Thanks to Blackwood River Houseboats for a fantastic weekend. We hired ‘Storm’. It was great! Very comfortable, the bedding was warm and cosy. The kitchen was well appointed. Hot shower and flushing toilet! James set us up for success with a driving tutorial and clear written instructions. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience. We felt we were the only ones on the River. We all felt really comfortable on Houseboat River. We had the pleasure of seeing a couple of dolphins feeding. It did not even feel like we were on the river it was so calm. The sunsets were amazing. House Boat River definitely needs a make over though. We will be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon on the boat storm, everything we needed was available for us all we had to do was bring our own food, drinks, clothes and fishing gear. Was definitely the relaxing time we had hoped. While we weren’t fishing we made use of the kayaks provided. Will definitely be booking again soon to enjoy with our kids!!

Stayed on Allira for a few nights. Was great, such a beautiful place, very peaceful. The boat was good and we made good use of the kayaks as paddleboards. Plenty of fish to catch also. We had one little technical issue with the boat and they raced up and fixed it immediately. Would definitely recommend.

James was a great host to get us on our way smoothly. Boat was spacious (for our party of 5) and clean with great extras like the kayaks and stand up paddleboards. And the river and moorings are just gorgeous.

Went all excited and was very disappointed. We got the older boat which wasn’t a problem but the dilapidated condition was. During the induction we were shown around and ‘oh this is broken but it’s going to be fixed’ said a bit more than it should have been. What was most disgusting was the poop still on the toilet seat, so I set about cleaning EVERYTHING before it was used. We really wanted to go for a swim but there was no safe way to get back on the boat, was hugely disappointing. The broken ladder, the broken cover for the generator, broken chair, the filthy floor on the top deck, not to forget the two pillows that I’m sure were made with concrete . While being on the river was wonderful it’s not a company we would use again or recommend.

What an amazing 3 nights in January on the Blackwood River. Perfect weather, spectacular scenery and the best company! What a treat. Our boat River was just right, she is the perfect size for a young family of four and so easy to operate. We will return next year to catch another 40cm bumping bream! Thank you James and Pam.

The Blackwood is the longest river in Australia's South West; flowing almost 400 km from its source in the wheatbelt, through the Blackwood Valley, to the coast at Augusta's Hardy Inlet. It is the perfect waterway for kayaking, canoeing, boating, swimming and fishing.... or even cruising along on one of Blackwood River's fully-equipped houseboats. James and Pam are super friendly and you get a full induction before you drive your very own houseboat. Perfect to get away from it all.
