This the first time I have been compelled to write a review, so I hope I am capable of doing the Blair House Heritage Inn justice.||||My husband and I drove to St. Stephens from Cambridge, Ontario. Upon arrival at the Blair House my first impression was that the Inn is breathtakingly beautiful, the size and architectural features of this century home are stunning!||||upon entry the Inn did not disappoint. The attention to detail is incredible. The decor is warm and inviting, while maintaining the integrity of the era that this home was built, Our room "the St, Croix" is both charming and very clean and comfortable. The bed is so welcoming and very comfortable. The best sleep I have ever had away from home. The ensuite bathroom offered ever imaginable toiletry and hair dryer.||||We were warmly welcomed by Sherie and here husband John, the managers of the Inn. They gave us a quick review of what the Inn has to offer and invited us to join them in the common living room. After settling in our room we joined Sherie, John and the owners Charlie and Rosie in the common living room. they generously offered their insights on the activities and restaurants St. Stephens has to offer.||||The common area offers 24 hour refreshments, including tea, coffee, water and freshly baked cookies. Before retiring each night you are requested to select the time and breakfast menu you'd like and simply hang your choice on the door knob.||||The breakfast is served in the formal dining room, made fresh and served by John, the Chef. This was a pleasant experience, as opposed to the traditional buffet. The menu offers many options to please anyone.||||Over breakfast we had the opportunity to meet and chat with the other guests, the came from provinces across the country.||||Thank you so much John, Sherie, Rosie and Charlie, for sharing your gorgeous home and making us feel like family.||||Till we meet again, Wade and Yvonne.

This was the first place we stopped on our tour through the Canadian Atlantic Provinces. We stayed one night. David, the innkeeper, was warm & welcoming. Our room, #1 on the second floor of this Victorian 'charmer', was spacious, the bed comfortable. There's no elevator, so be prepared to carry your 'stuff' up, though David did offer to help. The morning's fresh cooked breakfast was fabulous! - first there was the fresh fruit cup, followed by a choice of 2 dishes. It was so fun to be joined in the spacious dining room by the other guests as we all enjoyed our breakfast No coffee maker in our room, but set up right outside the dining room was a table where you could get 'goodies' anytime & fresh brewed coffee was available early/before breakfast. There was also a refrig that could be used by guests. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay & would definitely recommend The Blair House Heritage Breakfast Inn!. . . the house is quite historic - do ask David &/or read about it in the entrance foyer||||FYI: we crossed over into St. Stephen from Maine, not knowing that once one enters Canada, you're in a different time zone/Atlantic Time Zone - you loose an hour

My husband and I are biking up the East Coast and our finishing spot for the day was St. Stephen, New Brunswick. We looked at the motel options in the area and quickly dismissed them. We were so happy that John and Sherie had a room available for us at their B&B. The space is clean and organized. We settled right in and were delighted to spend some time with them and hearing their stories of the house. We had every amenity that we needed including water in our rooms. Coffee, tea, cookies and water were available in the common area and we were able to sit and enjoy some time in front of the fire place. We had a home cooked breakfast in the morning and took the opportunity to take some pictures with them on their front step. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting their family-sons Jaxon and Brandon and dogs Buddy and Sabrina. The Blair House Inn could be a quiet get away or a enjoyable time meeting new people—whatever you are in search of.

We had not planned to stay in New Brunswick, but decided to spend the weekend touring the province. We had thought of the town as merely a border crossing. But the Blair house made it a very nice experience. The house is historic and well cared for. The bed was comfortable as were the room and bath. Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of two options: mixed grill or blueberry pancakes with maple syrup. Both of us chose the mixed grill, of sausages, scrambled eggs, tomato and mushroom. Jam was home made and delicious. It was a lovely fall evening in the town and we took a picturesque stroll before eating at a dinner up the main street. All in all a very good experience.

Was there August 3rd for one night with my boyfriend and his youngest son. Hosts are amazing and welcoming people! Breakfast was sooo delicious! They know how to make you feel comfortable. Room had lots if little extras you would not imagine you would get. I would definately go back in a heart beat and strongly recommend Blair House Heritage Inn. 😊

First impressions were not the greatest. We were unsure of where to park or where to enter. Parked at the back and carried luggage downhill to the front of the house. Steep front steps. We were greeted by a sign on the door telling us to look for our names to find our room number. The room key was in the lock. It was 6:30 pm - the arrival time we quoted. Another party arrived shortly after us, parked alongside the front steps and awkwardly left their car there for the night. Overall, the house looks and feels a bit worn out. The bannister going upstairs to the rooms was wobbly. Later when we met the new owner, he did talk about the needed renovations. Breakfast was a bit on the pale side. The unpleasant part came when checking out. They have a payment system connected to a third party entity. The credit card was rejected (3 attempts) as was the debit card. Fortunately we had cash. Later, the cards wouldn't work at a gas station and even worse, at another hotel. Imagine if one of us had been traveling alone - try finding an appropriate bank open on a weekend along the TransCanada highway. The folks at VISA said the card was breached multiple times within minutes after leaving the inn. If you are in the hospitality business, your guests' security should be paramount. Overall, just one big annoyance when we were looking for a convenient place to stay.

I really had the honour of being a guest at the Blair House from April 11 to April 15 of 2019. I was actually very fortunate that the owners allowed me to have a room before the official opening date which took place today. Everything about my stay was amazing. That is from the cleanliness of the rooms, to the fabulous, hearty home-cooked breakfast and the warmth of the innkeepers - the Sheldrakes. If you are ever taking the US route to the Maritimes through Calais, Maine, the Blair House is a must. I SHALL return!

My daughter paid for my stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast. Much of the area I occupied on the first floor is all original flooring and wonderful old time wood work. Breakfasts were all great, I had the English breakfast all 3 times so I can only assume the specialty waffles and pancake selection would ne good based on how good my breakfast choice was. When I can go and bring my wife I will stay there with her.

Yelp
I reserve the 5 star rating. In order to get one from me you need to stand out. You need to want me thinking about returning almost as soon as I arrive. The Blair House most undoubtably deserves this rating, no question. A happen chance to find, we had to do a last minute drive from Halifax to St. Stephen and were too exhausted to make the return trip the same day. A combination of Tom Tom and Yelp said this little gem was less than 2km away from the border. No pictures, no reviews and no way of knowing what we'd find we gave a call. The owner David answered despite the lateness of the evening and said he indeed had one room available and we could come right on over. First off David may be one of the nicest people I've met in a long time. He didn't hesitate to spend a little time getting to know us even though it was well past "guest hours". At 9p at night he advised us to go out and find some food then return and take care of the paperwork...seriously who does that? The house. I won't even try to describe it. I can't do it justice. It's divine. Trust me. The room. We were given the only room on the main floor so I can't speak to the other rooms but this one was lovely. Queen size bed with super comfy bedding (the kind that makes you want to stay under covers all day). Extremely clean and stocked with those scratchy kind of towels you Canadians seem to love so much...oh the reason for the scratchiness? Yhea that's because they hang those towels out fresh on the line to dry all year round (as permissible). A lovely personal touch if you ask me. We woke up the next morning and sat down to a delicious home prepared breakfast of which David took before retiring the night previous. Didn't write a damn thing down and what do you know; everything came out just as we asked. You'll get your choice of grapefruit or fresh fruit cup (I had the fresh fruit with a dollop of greek yogurt). Then you'll either enjoy blueberry pancakes or a standard English breakfast of eggs, sausage, grilled mushroom, tomato and toast. Your meal will be topped off with coffee and a carafe of orange juice if you please. This place is the epitome of "Home sweet home". Other awesome things to know: * Tea is available 24 hrs/day * There will be a stash of cookies with said tea * This place won't break the bank (Summer rates are between $100-$120 / night) * Each room comes with a "faux" fire place * Cable TV/Wifi is provided for guest * Lots of nearby restaurants * The US/Canadian Border is less than 5 mins away.

Yelp
We have been to bed & breakfasts in Nova Scotia, Maine, Pennsylvania & California. This one is the best we've ever stayed in. Beautiful old historical home, gracious host, clean, spacious and comfortable, and a great value. We live far away (Northern California) but hope to come back. Wonderful blueberry pancakes too.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way to Maine, and couldn't get a room on our way back. I wish we had made the most of the comfortable room, congenial guests, and great reception we received but had to keep going. This is a beautiful place to stay when you need that extra attention. A gorgeous house with a gorgeous yard, no detail overlooked, including the dictionary in the room (replacing Gedeon's Bible). It is within walking distance to town, the St. Croix river and U.S./Canada border. The breakfast was prepared by the U.K. expat owner to the highest standards of the English breakfast. We wouldn't hesitate to return to Blair House, St. Stephen, New Brunswick, if only public transportation were more efficient.

Yelp
I just noticed that there was only one review on this site. I have previously posted very positive reviews for Blair House on TripAdvisor, but must not have done Yelp. It is a wonderful place to stay. It is very clean, comfortable, the breakfast is always outstanding, and Dave couldn't be more congenial. We stay here every time we go to and from Halifax or points further north. I highly recommend it.
