"A 20-room hideaway in western Belize, bought by Francis Ford Coppola in 1981. It became a family retreat and later a beloved spot for adventure seekers. The lodge features breeze-cooled cottages and a wood-paneled Jaguar Bar with a rustic but comfortable atmosphere."

"A 20-room rainforest retreat owned by Francis Ford Coppola that leans heavily on on-site hydro power and natural surroundings: Privassion Creek supplies roughly 85% of the property’s energy and provides nearby swimming holes and waterfalls. Pools use saline systems to avoid harsh chemicals, and treated creek water is reused for showers and laundry. Guests can take complimentary eco tours to see the hydro system up close and enjoy sunrise bird-watching in the surrounding rainforest." - Terry Ward
"Blancaneaux Lodge, in Belize, is one of many honeymoon-worthy destinations in the country." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"Tell us about your first hotel in Belize, Blancaneaux Lodge. A Canadian gentleman originally owned it. He married this young lady, but she slept with everyone she met and he became very upset and decided to take her to a remote part of the world. He chose this beautiful forest in Belize, really in the middle of nowhere, because he thought by isolating her he could keep her under control. But he also built five little cabins, and the problem was whoever was staying there she'd go and sleep with them."
