Everything about this store is amazing! It’s always a highlight of my visit to the waterfront of the city. So many wonderful things available! The staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions and they gift wrap items, if needed.

Such a cute store! It is a little tight in there if they are super busy but highly recommend checking them out. They have a bunch of beautiful and unique items. My husband purchased me a beautiful perfume that I have been wearing our whole trip.

Stopped into the store today and had such an incredible experience. It is beautifully curated—stunning pieces and such a thoughtful selection. So many unique finds you truly won’t see anywhere else, especially not in Portland. Can’t wait to come back!

I always enjoy shopping at Blanche and Mimi when I go to Portland; their new location right on Commercial Street is lovely and bright. Baby togs and toys, housewares, food products, toiletries, linens, antiques—their tasteful, eclectic array of items are ideal for gift-giving… or keeping for one’s self. Plus the staff is congenial and professional every time I visit. I love this place!

Hidden gem on commercial street. Fun finds in the store and unique atmosphere. A combination of vintage and abstract home decor. If you're looking for creative items for your house of a place to find gifts for friends and family, this is a great store for that.

I just wanted to thank you for going above and beyond. My girlfriend and I were in Portland visiting for a few days and really enjoyed browsing through your store. There was a leather bag that she absolutely loved ... and later regretted not buying. I called a few weeks later to see if you still had it. You did, and even texted me photos to confirm it was the correct item. And though not standard practice, you went further: wrapped it beautifully and promptly shipped it to me here in MA. It was a birthday gift ... one she absolutely LOVED. Again, above and beyond ... thank you!

I was into the recently reopened store yesterday, so happy to see B&M back! A little bittersweet but everyone in the store was respectful and very quiet. Had a conversation with the woman who helped me check out, she was lovely and I so thank all those who come to work and potentially put themselves at risk.

This place is incredible! European accented home items, tableware, including full sets of silver, China bath products, baby products, women's linens, and other items. Simply an amazing collection of stuff you didn't know you needed, displayed wonderfully and an amazing place to just wander-shop.

Terrific shop in Old Port with a great selection ranging from vintage kitchen items to new handbags and blankets. Knocked out holiday shopping for several family members. Give it a try!

Blanche and Mimi is a great local shop with so many beautifully-curated products at great price points. It's a perfect place to buy a gift. However, the most recent time I was in, the incense smell was so overpowering that I had to leave immediately due to my asthma, with smells and scents being a trigger. It's too bad as I might not come in again and had planned to do some gift shopping.

B+M sells such lovely and beautiful products!! The baby section has a wonderful variety of artsy books, toys, kitchen ware, and clothes, with certified organic brands like Pehr and Winter Water Factory (the cutest prints!). I was thrilled to see Peruvian made Blabla dolls which are specifically made in Peru because of its knitting culture, and they are the best size for small and large kids to cuddle (two doll sizes available) and their rattles as well. Great great place to find unique items and gifts especially!!

Nicest place ever! Really cute and aesthetic; filled with everything you can imagine! The stuffed animals were extremely soft and cute! I love this place! I came to Portland on a vacation, so I probably won't be returning, but it I do come back to Maine, this'll be my first stop!!!

There are so many great things that i like about this place EXCEPT the woman at the register who was a total drag. Furniture, baby cloths, lotions, other nick nacks and paddy wacks. I dont really understand the concept because the types of furniture are not ones that you would have for babies. Prices are a little much but it is downtown Portland so its typical with most places.

Blanche and Mimi is a great spot to get a last minute gift that ends up being the best you've ever given. They are so helpful and will wrap your purchases for you! There are tons of eclectic items and you'll need to take multiple laps just to make sure you saw it all. The only downside is it can be a bit over the top as far as pricing goes... but every time I've purchased a gift here, it's been a huge hit. My boyfriend still raves about his handmade brass shoe horn... I mean...who would of thought? Get their basil scented candle in a mason jar... it makes the whole house smell like you're a talented chef.

Lots of shabby chic handmade (pricey!!!) goodies in a perfectly laid out establishment. It seems to cater to more of a high end clientele, but there were a good number of things for the rest of us, too. Soaps, linens, tchotchkes, accessories...plenty of items to look through. Stop in and browse if shabby is your thing. It's a lovely shop.

I want the staff of Blanche & Mimi to design my home. They have an eye for pattern and color and their collections are curated so well. And the baby gear...all the baby gear!! So many great toys, clothes, and accessories that I *almost* wish I could have another kid.

Blanche + Mimi is a fabulous shop filled with a lovely mix of unique items everywhere you turn. No doubt you'll find something you adore! I've been lucky enough to pass through Portland in the last two summers. While there I was looking for unique gifts. Being just a few blocks up from the water front on Middle Street, Blanche + Mimi was worth the short walk. So many shops on water front are filled w touristy items one could find in any town on the water. Sorry to be so frank, but many of the items in those shops have little use other than collecting dust. But Blanche + Mimi is different. It carries home decor items I've never found anywhere else. Yes, there are deliciously scented candles, and creamy lotions as well as tea towels that make sweet gifts. But there are so many more wonderfully unique items both excellent for gifts and items you'll want to buy for yourself. I particularly enjoyed some of their accessories. Recently, I contacted the owner because I was looking for another of the item which had become a personal favorite and I had purchased there. Though the shop was closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, and it had been months since I had been there, she went out of her way to figure out what I was looking for. She took the time to go to the shop and then coordinated sending the item to me...even the wrapping in the package was special. Now that's a shop who truly cares about its customers. I couldn't be more impressed. The next time you are in Portland, see for your self, Blanche + Mimi is a super little shop!

I love this store! It's one of the few places that I know I can always count on for a great baby gift. They carry a few really great lines that are hard to come by in Maine, specifically winter water factory and tooby doo. My son practically lived in these adorable prints and stripes when he was a baby and I love giving them as gifts. Yes, they are slightly pricey but they use quality fabrics that truly last. And they are unique and adorable. They also have a great selection of gift items. I can always find something I want for myself or something to pick up as a gift. I love the wrapping paper and card selection as well. This is a tasteful and well edited store and I'm glad that it's in portland!

Tasteful hand made and interior decorator playground with post holiday funds worthy of picking through. Cute selection of infant and toddler toys and clothing but not enough to do much other than shower someone. I'd say this is a great knick knack shop and it is coupled with tasty eats for a sweet tooth and aromatherapy type candles so likely something for everyone.

Fabulous home accessory store with a great mix of vintage and new! My favorite store in Portland!

Fantastic little shop with a really sweet ambiance and owner! We always manage to find some wonderful treasures and will be thrilled to be stopping in again this weekend! Portland is a wonderful city and this shop is just another added bonus!

This store has beautiful, though pricey, things (I'd say slightly overpriced - I think you can get some of the same things elsewhere for less). But the real reason I knocked my rating down to 3 stars is because the sales staff is just unpleasant. They don't smile and they barely acknowledge your presence (even when you ask a question or try to make conversation). I went in, asked a question, purchased two items, paid and wished everyone a happy holiday, and the two sales peoples' facial expressions never changed once - not even a smile when I said thanks and happy holidays! Normally I would say that it's more pleasant to shop in a small local store than online, but in this case the level of human interaction was about the same!

The store is charming, with wonderful ambiance. A whole display of Orla Kiely bags, Petuna Picklebottom diaper bags, lovely napkins and tablecloths. Lovely candles, jewelry, etc. However, I felt that there was relatively few unique items. I decided to plan an entire trip to Portland Maine, simply to visit the store. I was all primed to buy something, but couldn't quite find that special item. It's a good thing that I visited Abacus, and other stores in the area that had truly one of a kind crafts glassware and pottery. If you're in Portland, definitely visit the shop. But don't plan a road trip around it.

Nice albeit overpriced items, which must be why as soon as my pregnant sister and I went to the baby section of the store we were immediately followed and watched with an insultingly close eye by the woman working. She stood maybe 5 feet from us the whole time "tinkering" with some baby items, not saying anything or asking us questions, but it was very obvious she was just watching to see what we were doing. We thought about just leaving right then and there without buying anything, but bought an item or two instead. The rudeness continued as we were paying with no thank you or a pleasant goodbye. It's too bad because we probably will never go back to support a local store because of this woman.

Love this store! Great finds, great owners! Cannot wait to visit and shop again!
