Blazing Lotus Healing House

This was my second visit to Blazing Lotus - this time, I brought my husband for a massage too, since my first visit was a positive experience. Once again, I booked Duncan as my husband's and my therapist; he does quality, deep tissue massage and structural body work (which is what I was seeking). Once again, it was another good experience, and days later, my body is still feeling the effects. We plan to go back the next time we're in the area. The office is run very professionally, and we greatly appreciated the military discount that was offered as well.

Laura Seiler at Blazing Lotus was amazing! I’ve had all kinds of massages in my life, but this was my first Thai massage. I can’t believe I’ve waited this long! It was the perfect blend of stretching, massage, and Ashiatsu. I’ve never felt better after a massage! Laura was delightful, skilled, and calming. Blazing Lotus was a very nice atmosphere and people. Highly recommend Laura, Blazing Lotus, and Thai massage in general!

My first experience at Blazing Lotus was truly positive. I had a fantastic massage with Toni! She applied deep pressure that released tension in my shoulders that I didn't even realize was there when I walked in. My first "losing time" massage experience. It felt much longer than 60 minutes.

I had my first massage at Blazing Lotus today. I have nothing but positives to say. Clean, welcoming and quiet facility. My massage with Toni was incredible. I came in with tension from the work week weighing me down physically and mentally. I left feeling on top of the world and (literally) an inch taller due to the release in my shoulders and back from the work she did. It's hard to find a massage therapist that can apply enough pressure for me to really feel the benefits. She had no issue meeting that demand throughout the entire 90 minute session. She made me comfortable from the first few minutes in the room before we even began, so I was able to relax and really sink in. I'll be signing up for the 6 month membership.

Had the best massage of my life with Phillip! Extremely caring and gentle - I didn’t realize how much my back needed this. My husband had a massage with Travis and very much enjoyed it. 11/10 recommend the couples massage - you won’t regret it

A wonderful place to receive a massage. My wife and I came here for anniversary to both receive foot and calf massages after our hike. As you walk in there is a full assortment of teas and herbs, as well as complementary cucumber, water, and tea for you to make if you wish. This is a very nice touch. we were taken upstairs and requested to receive our massages together which was accommodated by the staff. I had Duncan as my masseuse, and he was excellent. Would highly recommend a very pleasant fellow to meet. Was very attentive on pressure and overall five stars.

I am visiting from out of town and really didn’t know what to expect. Willow was amazing! She took her time and was so kind. If I was a local I would definitely become a regular. Thank you Willow!

Professionals make me feel comfortable and be able to stretch and feel like a new man again. They are great at explaining and offering tips too. I will come again when able to afford it again. The only thing is that they don't ask for my card to stamp so I can get a discount...

I booked 130 minutes with Vick. Oh my goodness. Speaking from a woman who has 1 - 3 massages a month, Vick performed the best massage I've had in a long time. The felt the tight muscles and adjusted the pressure accordingly. Usually at 100 minutes, I start to wonder when the massage is done. Not today, I actually would have extended the massage longer if his schedule had allowed. Next time I am in Asheville, I will book another massage with Nick.

Convenient parking, the waiting area is very serene. The massages were divine and we left our two hours feeling restored. Would go there again when in Asheville.

TJ did a great job in getting by neck and back feeling better. I'll be back! The website is easy to navigate and Blazing Lotus offers so many options.

Read reviews and decided to visit Blazing Lotus and got scheduled with Kathryn, to my knowledge she didn't have any reviews yet. Was slightly hesitant to spend the $$ not knowing how much experience she had. Very pleased with the outcome, she was EXCEPTIONAL! We started early and discussed my problem areas (lower back tightness and right shoulder). She showed great focus on helping the problem areas including pressure points and pressure in general. She did not stop for 90 mins, would definitely go back and schedule Kathryn, If I had any concerns the room was a little cool but ok. Thank you !

My friend and I were visiting Asheville and were looking for a massage. I saw Blazing Lotus had good reviews and we both booked 90 minute appointments. We wish we booked longer. Both of us experienced one of the best, if not the best, massages both of us ever had. I had so much tension in my shoulders and it was such a nice relief. It was so great, I thought about booking again before the end of my trip! Highly recommended, it's great to support local anyway and couldn't have been happier. Great start to our visit.

With almost 200 five star reviews, I'm pretty sure this is the highest rated spa I've ever encountered ... and I have to echo all of those reviews by saying that Blazing Lotus is worth the hype! I would gladly give this beautiful business six stars if I could. My husband found Blazing Lotus on Yelp while planning a recent trip to Asheville. We didn't end up booking anything until the day before traveling - but still managed to squeeze in two reservations on a Friday morning for signature massages. There's some parking spots available for clients in the back of the building, as well as a larger lot next to the nearby Whole Foods. The interior of the Healing House is beautiful - dimly lit with calming water features and light scents set the scene for relaxation. I booked my service with Willow, who I later found out is the Lead Therapist at Blazing Lotus. The signature massage includes hot stones, hot towels, and aromatherapy - and was definitely worth the splurge. Willow was absolutely phenomenal. I've been getting professional massages for 10+ years, and have never received such care and intention as I did with her. I highly recommend booking a massage at the Healing House - whether you're a local, or just visiting for a long weekend like we were. I would gladly drive 5+ hours back to Asheville just for another massage.

My partner and I got the two hours signature couples massage, and it was heaven. The spa itself is in an adorable cottage and has a very cozy and comforting interior. Willow and Charles were excellent. They were very intuitive, had wonderful energy, and were very nice. The hot stones and towels were also lovely! After the massage they front desk gave us a each a glass of water (always needed after massage!), a truffle, a ginger cookie, and a cup of hot cider. It was such a lovely touch and it was perfect because it was just the kind of treat I was craving right after a massage on a chilly rainy day. Thanks so much! We will definitely stop by again next time we're in Asheville:)

Visiting from Miami. We initially tried to schedule at Wild Rose, but being full, Ms Zekeira(?) not only referred us the Blazing Lotus but took ownership in getting us what we asked. Spectacular service by Zekeira! Then at Blazing Lotus, Paul at front desk gave us a warm welcome and my wife said she has the best massage with Mollie... What a great experience. Thanks!

Stopped in while on vacation and I highly recommend. Very relaxing and helpful massage; mostly all of the knots in my back, neck and arms were gone. Only did an hour but wish I had booked more time. Get the hot stones you will not be disappointed.

If you've ever wondered about getting a massage and are in the Asheville area, I could not recommend a group more than I do Blazing Lotus. **During covid** they use every measure possible to keep patrons and staff safe including temperature checks at the door. I appreciate their extra efforts. Today I brought my 15 year old son for his first-ever massage because he's been having sports related pain and I thought he'd enjoy the experience and maybe help loosen up tight muscles. Cassidy and Travis helped us with our appointments, and as my son's masseuse, Travis walked him through the process as someone new to professional massages. He asked lots of questions and walked through each step to deliver the very best treatment possible. There are many massage treatments and lengths to choose from, including a couple's massage and packages. My personal favorite is the signature massage which includes hot stones, hot towels, and aromatherapy - the longer the better! I'm interested in expanding my options to ashiatsu (back walking!) or Thai massage the next time I'm in town. I trust the professional staff at Blazing Lotus and am always appreciative of the healing power of massage and self care. The cottage in warm, inviting and pristinely kept. If you're on the fence about a professional massage take it from me - it's worth it. Treat yourself.

Loved our time at Blazing lotus healing house. Booked a couples massage for me and my boyfriend. We rarely do anything like this so we were slightly weary, but it was a 10/10 experience. My boyfriend has a physical job so he opted for a deep tissue massage while I went for a softer Swedish style. Would highly recommend to anyone in or visiting the Asheville area.

I had the Lotus package which is "The Signature Deluxe" 120 minute Massage Therapy with Hot Stones, Hot Towels, Aromatherapy, Cupping plus Coconut Scalp Massage. Lauren Landes, was my therapist and the massage was glorious. I may be on my own, but I love being so relaxed that I'm in a deep slumber. The deep pressure got to the places I need to release the tension. I shared how good I thought the service was I received that I've already referred two people Blazing Lotus Healing House since I've gone and they, too, enjoyed their experience. I don't know when I'd return to Asheville, but I'm definitely coming back whenever that is. It was so what I needed. You should plan for this place.

Soon as you walk in you're greeted with amazing scents of lavender, eucalyptus, and many other blends. When you walk upstairs take a look into the bathroom, it has a tub full of exotic succulents. I was in awe! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. My masseuse Kelsey asked questions so she could provide me with the best massage... and she did just that. She hit every area I needed and asked about the pressure along the way. She was attentive and observant of my needs. When she was finished she spoke on ways to help continue to heal my tense spots. If I lived in Asheville I would return 2x a month or more to Blazing Lotus and Kelsey. This place is the gem of the mountains!

Wow. I was gifted a massage here for Mother's Day, and I have to say that Lisa was absolutely amazing. I'm pretty picky about my massages, I like firm pressure but don't want to leave feeling like I went through the wringer. Lisa is very gifted with listening to what I asked for and the places that needed the most attention. The facility itself is also quite lovely, with a tea service while you wait and a yummy chocolate when you check out. There's a monthly membership package that looks fairly priced, too.

Omg best massage ever. Travis was amazing. He worked out knots I didn't know I had. Would go back. Reasonable cost. Got the hot towels which were lovely

i visited from out of town, and Amberly was my therapist. She did the best massage I've ever had. I am 72 and felt 16. The entire experience was relaxing and calming.

I've been to Blazing Lotus twice. They have procedures in place for Covid. On my first visit I was provided hand sanitizer and my temperature checked. Only so many can be in the waiting area at a time. Even with the procedures in place I've been warmly greeted each visit. Blazing Lotus is a converted 100 year old home just outside of Downtown Asheville. There is a small parking lot in the back of the house. I liked that the website had details about all the massage therapists so I knew I needed TJ as he is well aware of the shoulder and with my shoulder injury that is what I needed. I made the right choice as his expertise has helped my shoulder. Appointments are easy to book online. The massages are a little different here in that they use a lot of modalities from cupping to hot stones to hot towels to aromatherapy to my favorite biofreeze. But it is all integrated very well. Also when you ready to start, there is a doorbell to ring. Then afterwards there is a followup with helpful tips. I wish I lived closer so that I could go more often but it is very much worth the drive.

Y'all, there is a reason this place has 5 stars and only excellent reviews. I just got back from the best massage of my life. Phillip was so kind, & made me feel so comfortable from the start. He really took the time to learn the parts of my body that held the most tension. I have never had such a thorough massage, and I will most definitely be back and be referring him/this business to everyone. After my massage, he informed me of the techniques he uses, where my tension is most prominent, & asked if I had any questions. They let you choose hot stones, warm towels, or aromatherapy for free. Whenever you are finished the receptionist has a glass of water & chocolate waiting on you. You also get to pick out a parting gift. Take the time. Take care of yourself. Spend it here. I have chronic back pain & I feel like a whole new person.

I loved this place and highly recommend it to anyone visiting. Located in an absolutely gorgeous 100 year old house, the setting is cozy but high end, filled with warmth and personal touches. Lovely antique furniture in the waiting area, complimentary teas and water, tassels, rugs. And my room was lovely: warm colors, silky soft sheets, enough layers to keep me warm, ambient music and trickling water. The upstairs bathroom has what looks to be a gorgeous succulent garden in the bathtub. They set the vibe right. Cassidy was my masseuse and she picked up on a LOT more than just my tension. She seemed to read me well, and identified personal issues that went way beyond my body, and spoke very frankly with me about over-arching themes in my life I was already aware of. I am amazed at her level of empathy. My only issue was that I scheduled an Ashiatsu massage, which is where the masseuse walks on your back in order to get to deeper tissue. I explained an injury I had surgery for a year ago when I made the appointment. But when I came in, Cassidy explained that due to my body type I wasn't a good candidate for this type of message so she wouldn't be walking on me much (I am very petite and skinny). I wish I had been asked about my body type before booking if this was going to be an issue, because I would have booked something else. I also asked Cassidy to go harder with her hands and she told me she wouldn't, and that going harder could cause injury. I've had other massages, from $15 street-chair rubdowns in Chinatown to $150 deep tissue massages and this was a first for me. The massage was relaxing, but it did not have the desired effect because it was too gentle. I didn't want to argue with her and I felt sort of silly saying anything after because she was so perceptive of other things, but I didn't get the benefits I normally do. Other establishments have given me deeper massages without causing me injury, so I'm not sure what to make of this, except to be firm in asking for what you want. I still highly recommend both this business and Cassidy!

Very nice space with reserved parking, and I had an excellent massage. My therapist Kelsey was wonderful, attentive to all my requests, and very friendly. I felt very at ease. I loved my aromatherapy, and I even got to choose a little gift at the end as a new client. I will definitely be back soon, this place is great!

Indulging in luxurious self care, I enjoyed a two hour massage, tended by Sam. Her skills were excellent; she took special care to tend my jaw which is still recovering from a six-month old TMJ dislocation, paying particular attention to the muscles of my neck, shoulder, and back - all of which mysteriously connect to and support the TMJ. After the service, the tension I've been suffering was all but gone - finally! The venue is quite lovely with each private treatment room decorated to honor a different Asian culture. Beautiful art pieces and inventive details are evident throughout. The ambience is gentle, soothing, and peaceful. Give it a try!

I sincerely wish to apologize for my error and advise I've never been a client of Blazing Lotus and my review was intended for the Chinese Massage business named Quality Asian Massage Studio located at 530 Merrimon Ave. Sorry but names are both oriental in nature and 54 Merrimon can easily be mistaken as 530 Merrimon. I regret my error and hope this correction is found satisfactory.

The best massage I've ever had! Kind of a blend of deep tissue and swedish (as my therapist asked questions ahead of time as to what I wanted/needed)....in the perfect zen like surrounding. My girlfriends and I were enjoying a weekend in Asheville and easily booked online ahead of time. My therapist was TJ- he was perfectly communicative and comfortable. Since I work in Asheville fairly regularly, I'll be back!

We just got a couple massage. Becks and Molly were amazing! I recommend the hot towels. Very clean and safe. You get some delicious chocolate at the end and delicious cucumber water. See you guys same time next year!

Molly was so amazing!! I told her my problem areas and she totally knew what I needed! I got the Lotus package with Hot stones, aromatherapy, and hot towels. I also added in Cupping- WOW! I was on a girls getaway and I kept telling my travel companions that this was ACTUALLY the best massage I have ever had! And I mean it! I have had hot stones in the past, but didn't like it because all the therapist did that time was lay hot stones across my back. Milly used the stones as part of her therapy and it was heaven! Only thing, I should have said no to the coconut massage @ the end as it was only ho-hum and made my hair a mess (I knew it would). Too bad I was only visiting Asheville! I'd come every few months if I did!

I came in for a prenatal massage during our baby moon and it was worth every penny. Kelsey was so sweet and did an amazing job. Will definitely be back on our next trip and would recommend 10/10!

What a delightful, restorative, experience. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, the staff is incredibly kind, and I appreciate the punch-card option for locals. I'll definitely be filling my card up. I did my research before booking a massage because I wanted a combination of Swedish and deep tissue. I'm a landscaper and woodworker and had some muscle pain from relative motion to work out, but also wanted to relax during the majority experience. It was honestly one of the best massages I've ever had. One of the reasons I'll be back was the extra time my massage therapist took with me afterwards to show me some techniques for using lacrosse balls to loosen up my very tense hip and lower back. I've never had someone take that extra time after a massage and it was really helpful. When you visit they also offer tea, first-time gifts, and hot stones or warm towels during your massage. This is the kind of place that goes above and beyond to make sure you have a relaxing, restorative, time and I sincerely appreciated it!

My husband and I get massages often and were lucky enough to find Blazing Lotus during our recent trip to Asheville. Both of us prefer firm pressure during a massage, and our therapists Jenny B and Charles did an excellent job. They both listened to us and focused on the areas we needed, while also finding spots we didn't realize were tight. We felt very comfortable and taken care of from start to finish (especially during Covid). Next time we're in Asheville, we'll definitely be back! Highly recommend.

Blazing Lotus is absolutely beautiful (I love the succulent bathtub!) and my first visit didn't disappoint at all. Everything felt safe, clean and beyond comfortable. Jenny B. left me more relaxed than I've felt in a long time (especially after this past year) and she clearly hasn't lost her touch one bit since I was a client of hers back in Florida. I'll most definitely be back the next time I take a day trip to Asheville - the drive is absolutely worth it!

Great! Professional! Relaxation! Due to COVID-19 limitations, I could not go in with my husband. He reports that it was a wonderful experience. We were only visiting Asheville but he said he would definitely return.

My wife and I did a 30 minute sauna and 60 minute massage. The sauna was good and hot and we had to take a couple of breaks during the 30 minutes. I imagine we could work our tolerance up over time. I think it really helped to warm out bodies up in the sauna and made the massage more effective and enjoyable. My massage therapist Meredith Sims gave me probably my best massage ever. She has enough strength to really work my knotty spots, but also a wonderfully therapeutic touch in the other places. Over 60 minutes worked me head to toe and I felt so good afterward. We live 2 hours from Asheville but will visit again asap. Also want to try the Thai massage one of these days.

My first experience with Blazing Lotus was amazing, but I didn't write a review. However. I need everyone to know about how relaxed their staff made us feel during this difficult time. My husband and I were in town to get away from life during COVID. I called the day of the appointment, and the receptionist, Randi, was so kind and helpful and was able to book a couples massage at their second location, Wild Rose, without us calling a different number to book. She went above and beyond for wonderful service. Both locations are recommended! Here's the review of the massage at Wild Rose:. We had a 60 minute signature couples massage (hot stones, hot towels, and aromatherapy). It was my husband's first professional massage, and he thanked me for introducing him to it, as he'd always had reservations about "strangers touching him". David and Hannah were experts on helping us relax and made sure we were comfortable throughout (heat, pressure, smell). I definitely recommend the new location along with the first one. Thank you for picking such a welcoming and professional staff to help us relax and enjoy the spa experience.

Sam did an incredible job on my massage. I get chronic migraines so my shoulders and back are always pretty tense and massages help. This is the first time I am writing a review for a massage that is how great of a job she did. Highly recommend! I will be returning.

TL;DR: Worth every penny. While on our honeymoon, my husband & I decided to get a couples massage (the signature style). We needed to decompress from wedding planning, finishing graduate school, and the COVID chaos. I honestly feel sorry for my husband, because this was his first massage and I highly doubt any future massages will top this one! The combination of techniques, the use of aromatherapy, and the deep empathy of our therapists created a perfect experience. Also, they are handling COVID precautions with incredible grace. I'm so happy they're back open. We cannot wait to come back!

Self-care is one of my priorities but lately I've been working hard and stretching myself in growth, therefore my priorities  changed and I started to feel  stress  building up and the unbalanced life started to take a toll in my wellbeing. I came for a massage, with an open heart and totally receptive to the healing hands of Willow, my massage therapist. I feel so glad and grateful I did. This is a total reset so I can again little by little take care of myself and go back to my routines. She is great! The place is beautiful and with excellent costumer service. I just regret I didn't schedule a two hours session instead of one!

Arrived in pain and left feeling 100% better. Clean, relaxing space and capable, attentive massage therapist. Love the product that they used (and that they wiped all of the massage oil off me afterwards, so I wasn't left a sticky mess). I would definitely return!

I was visiting from out of town and needed some self care. Was aching from driving and bad hotel mattresses. Was able to quickly schedule a 30 minute back, neck, shoulder massage. Stephen did a great job was able to loosen the muscles and I felt so much better. Highly recommend Blazing Healing House. Great experience

I'm a 75 year old woman with a lot of aches and pains..a local. Back in the day, before I started taking care of my brother, message was one of the ways I took care of me. Been awhile. My 65 year old cousin was visiting for a family reunion and I wanted her to have her first professional hot stone swedish message with a foot/leg message. I had Willow and I think she had Travis. It was wonderful. I have an oblation scheduled later this month at a pain clinic...but I feel so much better..I may not need it. I am amazed!
