Blenders In The Grass- Downtown Santa Barbara

Great spot for a healthy smoothie or a green drink while you’re walking in downtown Santa Barbara on the main strip. This is a pretty laid-back place where you can get a variety of healthy smoothies, as well as more calorie dense and rich smoothies. The service was quick, and the staff wasn’t overly friendly, but very professional. I think one way the spot could be improved by having one or two tables on the outside or inside, so that you can sit down while you are waiting or after you order your drink. Otherwise, this is a great spot for a good smoothie, and is in a great location right next to historic shopping and eating.

Before Jamba Juice there was Blenders (In The Grass). Jamba Juice used to be right up the block, but not anymore. That should tell you something. A long-standing staple for smoothies in the Santa Barbara in Central Coast area ,Blenders is a local favorite for smoothies, juice, and fruit bowls. The ingredients always taste fresh and every item is made to order. I particularly like the smoothies, including the Banana and Red Banana. This location is downtown and is fairly small. All orders are to go (take away). My only complaint is the paper straws. They simply don’t last long with a thick smoothie.

Best smoothie’s I’ve had in a while. The original and red orange are amazing! They make the smoothies with ice cream so it is more of a shake but delicious non the less. Staff are very friendly at this location.

We stopped by for a shake and it was very good I had the peanut butter chocolate and banana and my wife had the strawberry and they were both very very delicious

Ordered the Original 12 oz with Chia Seeds. Heard recommendations from friends in Santa Barbara that this is a must try shop. Very pleasant and refreshing drink. The orange juice did not overwhelm the strawberry and banana. The consistency was very smooth and remained thick. Hardly any separation between the more liquid parts of the drink from the solids. I don't think going for the 24 oz is necessary but if you're thirsty, it's not a bad deal. Appreciated that they do use paper straws and thankfully did not become too soggy after some time.

It’s amazing!! I tried a lots of things and all were sooo good. The smoothies are enormous. But my favorite is the açaí, plus is much cheaper than in others places. Everywhere i go it’s more than 10 dollars, and there is 7 dollars. Ohh and not to mention the pitaya bowl, OMG 😍. Totally worth it.

Was craving some fresh squeezed/pressed juice after a long walk with the pups. Google mapped it and this little gem popped up. Juice was yums and refreshing while we walked all the way up the temporary pedestrian street. SB was pretty dead for a Saturday but given the COVID situation there was still a good number of people shopping.

Street or public parking. Came on a Saturday morning, was not too busy. Ordered: The original Red pineapple The juice was good. Red pineapple was sweeter, so yummy. Service was nice and quick.

Was craving a smoothie so I stopped by here. There was a line, so we waited around 5 minutes before ordering. Peanut butter creamy smoothie (4/5): it was okay, nothing too special about this smoothie. It had banana and peanut butter, which is one of my favorite combinations, and the smoothie was really creamy. You can do add-ons, which I think I should've done since the smoothie itself was bland in terms of toppings. The base was good, but I would've liked some texture like cacao nibs. There's not seating here, so it's a place where you go in and out. Overall not a bad experience.

Blenders in the Grass is a local Juicery/health cafe on State Street in Santa Barbara. Smoothie and it did not disappoint. The inside of the café was very busy as it is popular with UCSB students and families. The girl on register seemed a little bit salty about something but other than that everything else was good.

I wish Blenders had more locations as this is probably my favorite smoothie spot. I ordered their tropical guava with an added probiotic supplement. I love that they include a free supplement in each order. Their prices are decent and I got a 12 oz smoothie for about $6. The line can get long, however, it moves pretty quickly and they are quick to get the drinks out.

Such an odd review. I had a acai bowl. The acai itself is good, the texture is great but the only downfall I had with it was I wish they added more granola. For how much acai there was, I found myself having spoonfuls of simply acai. Not related to food...no where to sit and the place has a weird funk smell...what the heck is that smell about.

Good options, fair price point and very casual, to-go spot for smoothies and juices. Blenders was OK. I found their wait time to receive two smoothies to be a bit ridiculous (about 40mins). I wouldn't go back because the wait time isn't worth it to me. Especially if there's only one other person in the spot lol.. Not much to say besides it's OK.

Easily my favorite place for a smoothie. With few locations around the Santa Barbara area they aren't too hard to find. Good selection different flavors. Fast service. Free boosts. You really can't ask for a better set up. Make sure you check out the secret menu too.

This was my first time trying Blenders while in SB, and I was delightfully surprised! I loved that they offered a free supplement add-in, and there were so many different kinds. My mango smoothie was delicious, refreshing with a lovely flavor from the sherbet. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the SB area again.

hmMmM my first time getting the peanut butter drink here since i love creamier smoothies. i also remember adding protein in here since one supplement is free! street parking all alongside and around multiple establishments honestly being in SB is like a dream i really don't remember my time here xD

was so excited to try this place but the smoothie was just alright. i got the guava one and it was very icy not much of a flavor. glad i got a smaller size

This was a great spot to grab a quality beverage. I was instantly greeted by the two folks behind the counter and they were in the middle of squaring the place away. Credit where it's due: the place was spotless. That sets a great first impression. I ordered the cleanse and was treated to a multitude of delicious flavors. I'm partial to ginger so I enjoyed the drink a lot knowing its benefits were as grand as the taste.

My partner and I tried Blenders in Goleta, and it was so good that we ordered another smoothie (the same day) when we saw another location... We ordered the Red Mango, and it was very smooth, creamy, and refreshing! The Red Mango had mango juice, non-fat frozen yogurt, orange sherbet, banana and strawberries. It was more on the sweeter and dessert side because of the orange sherbet, but still good!

Exceeded our expectations! Delicious smoothies with friendly service. Wish we had one of these back home.

Right in the middle of central downtown Santa Barbara. Parking is all around either from structures or from the neighboring areas. The interior is super clean and health aesthetic. The service was quick and quite tailored to my needs. The drink tasted great and my intestines were for sure cleaning out all the gunk from the holiday haha. Super delicious and worth the hype in SB.

So delicious! It was my first time trying Blenders and I got the Tropical Mango. It was very well made -- not too watery and had a great balance of all the fruits :) They were a bit backed up, but everything was made in an efficient manner. The shop was a bit small, but I honestly didn't mind. Definitely recommend stopping by!

blenders is a great chain for a variety of smoothies. the free supplements are a great touch. line can be long but they move relatively quickly. my favorites are the tropical blends.

Every time I'm in Santa Barbara I try to stop by blenders. Best smoothies in town!! I always try to get something different but my all time favorite is red banana. Service is always great and the workers are always so nice. I wish they would open a few locations near LA.

Blenders is located in the heart of Santa Barbara, making it a great stop during a trip! We dropped by on Saturday at 3:45pm, and there was no line. The cashier was very friendly when taking our orders. The menu is quite extensive, and you have your own choice of what supplements to add. We ordered tropical guavas with antioxidants and energy. It took around 8 minutes for us to receive our drinks. The tropical guava was incredibly refreshing, with prominent tastes of guava and strawberries. The consistency was thick. Our one complaint is that one of our smoothies was not blended fully; there was an unblended frozen strawberry in it. Despite this, we enjoyed every sip of our smoothies. In our opinion, Blenders is more affordable and delicious than other chain smoothie stores. The addition of a supplement for no extra cost really seals the deal. Can't wait to try out more flavors!

The food quality, service and pricing is all good. We've been back multiple times. Especially love the açaí bowls.

idk what it is about this place but i just love the smoothies there so much and go every time in the the area! i like the mango smoothies because they're so creamy and i also love the peanut butter flavor for the same reason. you really can't go wrong! :')

I LOVE BLENDERS. yes i will drive from the IE to Santa Barbara jus to get blenders. I've been trying drinks off the Secret Menu and they all have been so good! The sizes of the cups are so worth it as well! I love the addition supplements blenders come with too! Blue Pineapple 5/5: I think this on the sweeter fruited side, which I really like. The drinks are so creamy and refreshing. Peaches and cream 5/5: this one is also very sweet, it really does exactly like peaches and cream! No complaints just vibes this is so good! Vanilla Blenders 5/5: imagine the creaminess of blenders into a vanilla milk shake! This is exactly what it is. This drink was surprising very good for a place that specializes in fruit smoothies!

Solid smoothies everytime. Annoying how much the price has gone up... that's all. when a 24oz smoothie used to cost $5 even, those were the days! Still awesome everytime.

I wanted to like Blenders given that it's a popular and local establishment. However, the hefty price tag of nearly $10 for a smoothie is too much, even if the smoothie is tasty. My Anti-Inflammatory drink was just-okay, although a bit too fronted with the ginger. Overall, decent smoothie, but too expensive for the size it is.

Went to blenders while visiting my son in Isla Vista, and I really enjoyed it! Especially the Red Mango that I ordered.

Friend recommended this place to me since I was in the area. I got the guava smoothie with chia seeds and it was very refreshing. Like all the other reviews say, it's very smooth and creamy. Relative to other smoothie places I've tried, I wouldn't say it was the best but I did enjoy my drink. I would come again if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way to return. The free parking is a plus and also the day we came, there was a farmers market outside! We enjoyed sipping our smoothies and browsing.

There are not many places that do smoothies well. I used to go to Jamba Juice when I was younger, but I have since realized that it is way overpriced and inconsistent. If you're looking for a place to stop by to get smoothies on your roadtrip up PCH, this is the place! With convenient online ordering, I picked up my drinks with no wait. Blenders is affordable, convenient, and includes one free "boost" with every drink such as protein, antioxidants, and much more! If you're in SB looking for something refreshing to drink, go to Blenders! It's worth it. I was able to park in the parking structure for the shops in Downtown SB which offers free 90 minute parking.

Right on state street and spot was pretty busy for a week day. Smoothie and juice options with options to add protein. Ordered a make your own juice with ginger. Juice was on the warmer side so had to ask for ice. Overall average experience.

this is so delicious. It's like Jamba juice up in the Bay Area. We tried the red mango, tropical mango and their chai. Everything was absolutely delicious and extremely fresh service was pretty quick and finally as well and the store was clean pretty good experience overall.

If anyone comes to Santa Barbara, they MUST go to blenders! Their acai bowls and smoothies are so much better than jamba juice or even vitality bowls. Super creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness that balances out the tanginess from the fruit. My family loved it!

I love this place eventhough I am really not a smoothie person, but this one is exceptional. I love any smoothie that has mango in it. Today, I ordered Tropical Mango and it is just sooo good especially during a sunny weather. This is right beside Ulta and other restaurants. You can also add supplements to your drink. Wish there is Blenders in the Grass in LA.

Blenders in the grass was a recommendation from my good friend Kathy who said it was a MUST stop in Santa Barbra. My hubby and I were driving from San Diego to SF and decided to make a stop. My friend recommended to get a purple banana and it did not disappoint!!! I highly recommend you stop here and grab a smoothie!! Super friendly staff and wonderful customer service!

There's a reason why some franchises are known worldwide, and why some remain in state... Blenders is one of those that will always remain in state. I don't understand why most of their smoothies here add yogurt or sherbets to their drinks, as it defeats the purpose of healthy, simplified drinks. Just like all of the other drinks served at Blenders, the Tropical Kale smoothie had too much going on. Pineapple juice, kale, peaches, bananas, yogurt, AND sherbet?! I make this smoothie at home, and it's always perfect. Why? I solely use pineapples and kale.

After our salt cave experience a few stores down, I was craving a smoothie and luckily stumbled across this gem. Thank you Jesus. I ordered the Red Orange - fresh orange juice, raspberry juice, strawberries, non-fat frozen yogurt with raspberry sherbet... freakin delicious!! You can pick one supplement for free and I chose the probiotic. My smoothie was perfect, yummy and so refreshing, my husband and I shared and fought for the last sip, of course I won because I bought it. I would highly recommend trying this place, they have other locations too but only in the vicinity. I wish they'd open one in OC!

If I could somehow get from the Bay Area to here every single morning, I would do it no doubt. There's no better feeling than drinking a delicious refreshing smoothie after a hard workout. I've been thinking about the Tropical Mango smoothie since I had it two years ago the last time I was in Santa Barbara, and I was not let down. 10/10 the best smoothie place I've ever been to and Tropical Mango is for sure the best smoothie I've ever had.

I loooove Blenders in the Grass! This location is right on State St in the heart of the main downtown shopping area. Parking can be tricky to find depending on the time of day, all street parking. The location isn't too big, it's a simple and colorful space. They have classic, tropical, creamy and protein smoothies. There are two sizes: regular and large. Regular is the size to get when you're not too hungry and want a little treat before your next meal. Large is definitely big enough to fill you up and could even be a meal replacement. They also have a list of boosts that you can get, and you get to choose one for free per smoothie. They range from whey protein to immunity to lean & fit. My favorite smoothie is the strawberry colada, it literally tastes like an improved version of a piña colada with strawberries, minus the alcohol (although that doesn't sound like a bad idea...). If you're a smoothie fan, you must try this place! Perfect treat to have at any time of the day :)

Blenders in the Grass was fantastic! I went here at the end of a trip during which I had eaten way off my usual diet plan. Craving something healthy, I saw that this place offered fresh juice and you could choose your own combination. I was a little worried about how they decide how much of what to put in, but the cashier was super patient and friendly. He explained that I could either specify that I wanted more or less of specific ingredients or they would just try to put equal parts of everything. They did exactly what I asked and the juice was perfect! I would definitely recommend them and I will definitely be back!!

The first thing that caught my eye about this chain- that they offer a free supplement to every smoothie! We ordered two smoothies and added the probiotic supplement to both. There was only one staff member working when we came, but he was super efficient and was able to both take orders & make all the smoothies quickly so the wait wasn't long at all! Major props to him because more people started trickling in but he did it all with grace and speed. Red banana smoothie: (aka strawberry banana) when you put banana in a smoothie, it pretty much drowns out all the other flavors haha so it was expected to have this one taste mainly like bananas, but the pink color was pretty and it tasted thick and creamy. Tropical mango smoothie: this tastes like an orange creamsicle! You get that initial tartness from the mango followed by a creamy aftertaste. More sherbet-y tasting than our other smoothie and more tart than I expected a mango drink to taste like, but a good smoothie nonetheless.

Great tasting Chai smoothies! The customer service was sad! Went in at 3:07pm on Tuesday. The young man at the counter (green eyes, brown hair) did not greet us with any welcome (this is fine. Seems to be the standard nowadays with the younger generation. No sweat off of my back). I greeted him. He did not answer me and quickly said "what do you want". I placed my order (two chai's). He then quickly asked, in a rude tone, "what size"? I asked what my options were and he pointed to a sign behind him. He did not answer. So I said large. I asked him then if he was okay? He threw up his hands. Then a lady (short with brown hair) asked what the problem was. I said he was extremely rude. She didn't seem to care at all. The man taking our order said "that's just the way I am". I said " well, maybe this isn't the best industry for you." We we're not offered our free supplement either. And that was it. My husband still left a tip for this guy (he is a very generous person). I hope the few extra bucks soften his heart. We got our smoothies and they were great!

Love visiting here when I'm in town! Tropical guava is my go to and its delicious! Nice and refreshing while walking around the block. The staff are always nice and friendly and very quick at making the drinks.

This location is conveniently in downtown and around the shops and perfect for a hot day. They have the smoothies and the healthier juice options on a standing menu. There's a free add-in for vitamins and etc on a separate menu that you should take advantage of! Sebastian is one of the best guys you can ask for assistance there as well!

I ordered a smoothie with no dairy because I am allergic -- and paid extra for this accommodation. When I received it, the staff member said "no soy." I asked, do you mean no dairy? He said, "yes, no soy." I said, "dairy and soy are different - which do you mean?" He walked away, clearly annoyed, and ignored me. I then confirmed with the cashier, who assured me he meant no dairy. Unfortunately this was not true. My stomach, causing me excruciating pain, can assure you that there was dairy in this smoothie. I just hope I was the only person whose day was ruined by this error.

I went through college at UCSB drinking these amazing smoothies and I just randomly had a hankering for it tonight...so YES I had a smoothie for dinner! And I'm so happy I did. Haven't had it in two years, but tasted the same if not even better! I honestly couldn't stop drinking it fast enough. Although I do remember them being $5.00 back in college, and now they are $5.50 for a large, I do understand that everything inflates $$. It's still definitely worth it! If you don't want to do this size ( in picture) then there is an option to get a small too. They have non dairy options too for those that are lactose intolerant/sensitive. Just add $0.75. All of the smoothies come with a supplement of choice for free, and there are so many to choose from there is something for everyone. I got my usual (usual from college), which is peanut butter creamy smoothie. I added the chocolate and a probiotic supplement. Also, this is new for me to see...their cups and straws are 100% compostable!!

Blenders have always been one of the best smoothie places in Santa Barbara in my experience. It is sad to make a review so negative about this particular location. The service was obismal. Simple things like ignoring customers, talking to coworkers while people are waiting to be served, and order inconsistently make the experience undesirable. Blenders on state used to be great a few years back, but nowadays, I see a downfall in quality. I'd rather go to other locations.
